El fin del carnavalismo o la creación del Corpus Lucianeum

In a key passage for the understanding of Lucian’s work, the Fisherman 25– 27, the philosopher Diogenes of Sinope complains that Parrhesiades, a Lucianlike authorial figure, mocks philosophers not within the fixed boundaries of a carnivalesque festival, as Old Comedy used to do, and to which Lucian’s work is otherwise highly indebted, but by means of his constantly published writings. This statement is even more relevant, since the Fisherman belongs to a group of texts which show clear cross-references to other writings within the corpus (such as Essays in Portraiture Defended, Apology, and The Runaways). By creating indirect authorial commentaries and intratextual references throughout his œuvre—a hidden (auto)biobibliography, as it were—, Lucian thus reinforces the idea of an organic literary work and the coherency of his corpus which is—notwithstanding its thematic variatio—well-publicized and far away from carnivalesque exceptionality. In this way, the aesthetics of perpetual transgression is in a unique way related to the construction of authorial self-referentiality in Lucian’s satires.En un pasaje clave para entender la obra de Luciano, Piscator 25–27, el filósofo Diógenes de Sinope se queja de que Parresíades, una figura de autoría parecida a Luciano, no se burla de los filósofos dentro de los límites carnavalescos del festival, como lo hacía la Comedia Vieja, a la que tanto debe la obra de Luciano, sino mediante constantes publicaciones de escritos. Esta afirmación adquiere aún mayor importancia por el hecho de que el Piscator pertenece a un grupo de textos que muestra evidentes referencias cruzadas a otros escritos del corpus (como Pro imaginibus, Apologia o Fugitivi). Al crear indirectamente comentarios de autoría y referencias intertextuales a través de su obra ‘multitemática’ – por así decir, una (auto)bibliobiografía escondida –, Luciano refuerza la idea de una obra literaria orgánica y un corpus coherente que se encuentra – a pesar de la variatio temática – bien divulgado y lejos de la excepcionalidad carnavalesca. Así, la estética de la trasgresión perpetua está relacionada de manera única con la construcción de la auto-referencialidad como autor en las sátiras de Luciano

Pseudo-intelectualismo y melancolía. La poética de la bilis negra en el Lexífanes de Luciano

En el mundo altamente competitivo y exhibicionista de Luciano, el hiper-aticismo, el (ab)uso de palabras recónditas y arcaicas a fin de impactar deviene en una especie de plaga. En este artículo discuto cómo el Lexífanes se centra precisamente en las asociaciones literales y metafóricas del hiperaticismo como una enfermedad, prestando especial atención al dictamen médico -articulado en el texto por el doble del autor, Licinio-, según el cual el personaje epónimo del diálogo sufre de melancolía. En lugar de constituir una referencia de pasada al vocabulario coloquial de la locura, la melancolía -sostengo- ayuda a Luciano a asimilar a la fuerza la acumulación de palabras pretenciosas para el desvarío de un loco, un parloteo no sensitivo carente de significado. Al mismo tiempo, Luciano también pretende exponer la presencia de la melancolía en el lenguaje cultural y médico de su época como una enfermedad que de manera especial afecta a los “grandes espíritus”, a las personas de inteligencia excepcional. Al llamar a Lexífanes ‘melancólico’, Luciano reprende la pretensión de Lexiphanes a la vez como hiper-aticista y, no menos importante, como pseudointelectual que está configurando su imagen pública, temperamental y fisiológicamente, como un genio cuya atrabiliaria conformación le permite actuar y hablar en modos extraños.In Lucian’s highly competitive and exhibitionist world, hyper-Atticism, the (ab)use of recondite, archaic words for the sake of impression, has become a sort of plague. In this article, I discuss how Lexiphanes focuses precisely on the literal and metaphorical associations of hyper-Atticism as a disease, by paying particular attention on the medical verdict - articulated in the text by Lucian’s authorial double, Lycinus - that the dialogue’s eponymous character suffers from melancholia. Rather than constitute a passing reference to the colloquial vocabulary of insanity, melancholia, I argue, helps Lucian forcefully assimilate the accumulation of pretentious words to the raving of the insane, a non-sensical blabbering that is void of meaning. At the same time, Lucian aims also to expose the presence of melancholy in the cultural and medical idiom of his time as a disease that typically affects ‘great spirits’, people of exceptional intelligence. By calling Lexiphanes ‘melancholic’, Lucian scolds Lexiphanes’ pretentiousness both as a hyper-Atticist and, no less importantly, as a pseudo-intellectual who is shaping his public image, temperamentally and physiognomically, as a genius whose atrabilious constitution entitles him to act and speak in strange ways

Perancangan Program Aplikasi Penjualan Tas Berbasis Website Pada Luciano

Luciano importir tas adalah Perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang import dan penjualan tas. Luciano membutuhkan sebuah sistem untuk memasarkan produk secara luas dengan membuat aplikasi sistem informasi berbasis website. Dengan keberadaan aplikasi sistem informasi berbasis website pada Luciano, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan penjualan dan mendatangkan pelanggan baru, serta memudahkan pelanggan untuk mencari informasi seputar produk yang dijual oleh Luciano. Metode yang digunakan untuk rancangan website adalah System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), database yang digunakan adalah XAMPP dan PHP, bahasa pemrograman php, perangkat keras berupa komputer atau laptop untuk menjalankan program aplikasi berbasis website. Hasil uji coba melalui blackbox testing dan kuesioner menyatakan bahwa program sudah berjalan dengan baik dan mudah digunakan

Extending the Coyote emulator to dark energy models with standard w0w_0-waw_a parametrization of the equation of state

We discuss an extension of the Coyote emulator to predict non-linear matter power spectra of dark energy (DE) models with a scale factor dependent equation of state of the form w = w_0 + ( 1 - a )w_a . The extension is based on the mapping rule between non-linear spectra of DE models with constant equation of state and those with time varying one originally introduced in ref. [40]. Using a series of N-body simulations we show that the spectral equivalence is accurate to sub-percent level across the same range of modes and redshift covered by the Coyote suite. Thus, the extended emulator provides a very efficient and accurate tool to predict non-linear power spectra for DE models with w_0 - w_a parametrization. According to the same criteria we have developed a numerical code, and we have implemented in a dedicated module for the CAMB code, that can be used in combination with the Coyote Emulator in likelihood analyses of non-linear matter power spectrum measurements.
