Acompanhando a prática de outros países e recomendações de organizações internacionais, tem vindo a ganhar peso a preocupação por parte das instituições do ensino superior (IES) em estimar o impacto económico que resulta da sua atividade nas regiões onde se encontram inseridas e também os decisores regionais e a população em geral revelam interesse em conhecer essa realidade e avaliar a sua importância no desenvolvimento local e regional. No presente contexto de crise económica e de constrangimentos orçamentais é exigido cada vez mais às instituições uma cultura de accountability (prestação de contas) que justifique o financiamento público envolvido na qualificação dos alunos e na produção e difusão do conhecimento. E-Government – Qualified Digital Signature

Neste artigo é apresentado um caso de estudo relativo à utilização e implementação da Assinatura Digital Qualificada. São analisadas questões como o grau de utilização, segurança e autenticidade da Assinatura Digital Qualificada e à publicação e divulgação de documentos assinados em formato digital. Para suportar o caso de estudo foi adotada uma metodologia que incluiu a realização de entrevistas a municípios que integram a Comunidade Intermunicipal da região de Leiria e foi desenvolvida uma aplicação informática que permitiu analisar os documentos disponibilizados nos websites institucionais dos municípios, verificando os que se encontravam assinados digitalmente. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que os websites institucionais já se encontram a disponibilizar documentação com Assinatura Digital Qualificada e que o nível de confiança e autenticidade quanto à sua utilização é considerado maioritariamente muito bom.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The Portuguese higher education system comprises both Universities and Polytechnic Institutes, which face an increasing pressure to demonstrate that their presence has an impact on the surrounding communities contributing to their economic development. This paper presents the estimation of the economic impact of twelve Polytechnic Institutes, located in quite diverse regions, based on a shared model so that comparisons have a collective framework of analysis. The main results obtained show that the economic impact ranged from 1.8% to 10.6% of the local GDP and that these Institutes are major local employers.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Os requisitos nutricionais de larvas de peixes são ainda mal compreendidos, o que leva a altas mortalidades e problemas de qualidade no seu cultivo. Este trabalho pretende fazer uma revisão de novas metodologias de investigação, tais como estudos com marcadores, genómica populacional, programação nutricional, génomica e proteómica funcionais, e fornecer ainda alguns exemplos das utilizações presentes e perspectivas futuras em estudos de nutrição de larvas de peixes

Na UE - União Europeia o federalismo esteve presente de uma forma muito clara na sua origem. A palavra “federalismo” não surgiu nos Tratados constitutivos, mas no espírito de muitos dos fundadores era esse o projecto.
