¿Dónde están las élites? "El problema de Colombia"

    Get PDF

    Get PDF
The aim of this study is to develop a support system through which the universal accessibility can be incorporated in order to guarantee the right of equal opportunities of disabled people in the Spanish state. This diagnostic method of accessibility is appropriate for the unique conditions of the Heritage Environments, depending on the results, to take appropriate decisions, through a multi-criteria analysis, in order to further intervention. The proposal is made in this study was developed in the project I + D + i, Ministry of Science and Innovation in the Spanish state, called "PATRAC: Heritage Access I + D + i, a culture without barriers".Peer Reviewe

Automatic generation of natural language service descriptions from OWL-S service descriptions

As the web grows in both size and diversity, there is an increased need to automate aspects of its use such as service coordination (e.g., discovery, composition and execution). Semantic web services combine semantic web and web service technologies, providing the support for automatic service coordination. Semantic web services are described using semantic languages (e.g., OWL-S) and can be automatically processed by intelligent agents (agent based coordination). This dissertation aims at enhancing the service coordination process, building upon well-understood and widespread practices on natural language generation. Automated service coordination relies on the existence of formal service descriptions (semantic languages, such as OWL-S or WSML). The use of web services by people is essentially associated with the discovery, composition and execution of services that match their needs. According to the person’s will, the discovered or composed service is or is not executed. This decision can only be made if the person understands the description of the service. Therefore, it is necessary that formal descriptions be converted into more natural descriptions, adequate to human comprehension. This dissertation contributes to empower the users (knowledge engineers and common citizens) of service coordination systems with the capability to better understand and decide about discovered or composed services without the need of understanding the formal language in which the semantic web service is described. We implemented a software program capable of generating natural language service descriptions from OWL-S description. It is a template-based natural language generation system that receives the OWL-S description of a service as input and converts it into an English description. This system will leverage the use of service coordination technology by people and allow them to have a more active role in the various stages of the service coordination process

Airway vascular damage in elite swimmers

SummaryWe postulated that high level swimming can promote airway inflammation and thus asthma by enhancing local vascular permeability. We aimed to test this hypothesis by a cross-sectional study comparing swimmers (n = 13, 17 ± 3 years, competing 7 ± 4 years, training 18±3 h per week), asthmatic-swimmers (n = 6, 17 ± 2 years, competing 8 ± 3 years, training 16 ± 4 h per week), and asthmatics (n = 19, 14 ± 3 years).Subjects performed induced sputum and had exhaled nitric oxide, lung volumes, and airway responsiveness determined. Airway vascular permeability index was defined as the ratio of albumin in sputum and serum. Results from the multiple linear regression showed each unit change in airway vascular permeability index was associated with an increase of 0.97% (95%CI: 0.02 to 1.92; p = 0.047) in sputum eosinophilis, and of 2.64% (95%CI:0.96 to 4.31; p = 0.006) in sputum neutrophils after adjustment for confounders. In a general linear model no significant differences between airway vascular permeability between index study groups existed, after controlling for sputum eosinophilis and neutrophils. In conclusion, competitive swimmers training in chlorine-rich pools have similar levels of airway vascular permeability than asthmatics. Although competitive swimming has been associated with asthma, airway inflammation and airway hyperesponsiveness do not seem to be dependent on increased airway vascular permeability

QFD as a tool to improve negotiation process, product quality, and market success, in an automotive industry battery components supplier

30th International Conference on Flexible Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing (FAIM2021) 15-18 June 2021, Athens, GreeceThe automotive industry faces major megatrends such as climate change and emissions control, digital transformation, and increased customer power, resulting in more intensive competition, and higher sophisticated vehicles. The application of QFD (Quality Function Deployment) can be particularly valuable to link customer expectations with the technical characteristics of the product. In the case of products, such as batteries for electric vehicles, where technology is not yet mature, and the technical requirements (e.g., autonomy) are continuously more demanding, this is particularly relevant. The QFD customer-oriented product development technique is applied to a cover of a battery pack, to improve the negotiation process with the car manufacturer, the automotive industry battery components supplier company and its suppliers, to ensure market success once the product is released. The application of the HoQ revealed that Product Design and Tolerancing are the main technical requirements with the most impact over the battery cover development, followed the Leakage ratio. This research confirms that the voice of the customer could be quite generic, and it is critical that these requirements are translated into engineering requirements, which, in turn, can be translated into items that can be measured quantitatively and actionable within the company. The application of the affinity diagram was found to be quite valuable to address the significant amount of subjective information, and it is also relevant that OEMs have a desire to standardize the electric vehicle platforms at least on fewer and general sizes, hinting the need for more collaborative team approaches.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
