A numerical domain decomposition method for solving elliptic equations on manifolds
A new numerical domain decomposition method is proposed for solving elliptic
equations on compact Riemannian manifolds. The advantage of this method is to
avoid global triangulations or grids on manifolds. Our method is numerically
tested on some -dimensional manifolds such as the unit sphere , the

The novel pentaborate with a transition-metal complex as counter-cation and with water of crystallization, tris(ethylenediamine)cobalt(II) bis[4,4′,6,6′-tetrahydroxy-2,2′-spirobi(cyclotriboroxane)(1−)] dihydrate, [Co(C2H8N2)3][B5O6(OH)4]2·2H2O, forms a three-dimensional supramolecular framework through O—H⋯O hydrogen bonding among the [B5O6(OH)4]− anions with large channels along the a axis in which the templating [Co(en)3]2+ cations (en = ethylenediamine) and water molecules are located. Memory-enhancing effect of Rhodiola rosea L extract on aged mice
Purpose: The memory-enhancing effects of Rhodiola rosea L. extract (RRLE) on normal aged mice were assessed.Methods: In the open-field test, the effect of RRLE (150 and 300 mg/kg) on mouse locomotive activities was evaluated by investigating the extract’s influence on CAT and AchE activities in the brain tissue of mice.Results: Compared with aged group, high dose of RRLE reduced the total distance (3212.4 ± 123.1 cm, p < 0.05) significantly, increased catalase (CAT) activity (101.4 ± 12.2 U/mg pro, p < 0.05), and inhibited acetyl cholinesterase (AChE) activity (0.94 ± 0.12 U/mg pro, p < 0.05) in the brain tissue of aged mice.Conclusion: The results show that RRLE improves the memory functions of aged mice probably by increasing CAT activity while decreasing AChE activity.Keywords: Rhodiola rosea, Memory function, Catalase, Acetyl cholinesterase, Open-field tes
A Unified Dual-view Model for Review Summarization and Sentiment Classification with Inconsistency Loss
Acquiring accurate summarization and sentiment from user reviews is an
essential component of modern e-commerce platforms. Review summarization aims
at generating a concise summary that describes the key opinions and sentiment
of a review, while sentiment classification aims to predict a sentiment label
indicating the sentiment attitude of a review. To effectively leverage the
shared sentiment information in both review summarization and sentiment
classification tasks, we propose a novel dual-view model that jointly improves
the performance of these two tasks. In our model, an encoder first learns a
context representation for the review, then a summary decoder generates a
review summary word by word. After that, a source-view sentiment classifier
uses the encoded context representation to predict a sentiment label for the
review, while a summary-view sentiment classifier uses the decoder hidden
states to predict a sentiment label for the generated summary. During training,
we introduce an inconsistency loss to penalize the disagreement between these
two classifiers. It helps the decoder to generate a summary to have a
consistent sentiment tendency with the review and also helps the two sentiment
classifiers learn from each other. Experiment results on four real-world
datasets from different domains demonstrate the effectiveness of our model.Comment: Accepted by SIGIR 2020. Updated the results of balanced accuracy

Rational identification of a Cdc42 inhibitor presents a new regimen for long- term hematopoietic stem cell mobilization
Mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) from bone marrow (BM) to peripheral blood (PB) by cytokine granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) or the chemical antagonist of CXCR4, AMD3100, is important in the treatment of blood diseases. Due to clinical conditions of each application, there is a need for continued improvement of HSC mobilization regimens. Previous studies have shown that genetic ablation of the Rho GTPase Cdc42 in HSCs results in their mobilization without affecting survival. Here we rationally identified a Cdc42 activity-specific inhibitor (CASIN) that can bind to Cdc42 with submicromolar affinity and competitively interfere with guanine nucleotide exchange activity. CASIN inhibits intracellular Cdc42 activity specifically and transiently to induce murine hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell egress from the BM by suppressing actin polymerization, adhesion, and directional migration of stem/progenitor cells, conferring Cdc42 knockout phenotypes. We further show that, although, CASIN administration to mice mobilizes similar number of phenotypic HSCs as AMD3100, it produces HSCs with better long-term reconstitution potential than that by AMD3100. Our work validates a specific small molecule inhibitor for Cdc42, and demonstrates that signaling molecules downstream of cytokines and chemokines, such as Cdc42, constitute a useful target for long-term stem cell mobilization
