The Resistance Measurement Method of the Conducting Textiles

    Get PDF
The report describes the technique to measure the resistance of some novel conducting threads. All of the measurements were performed in the EMC lab at SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden, Boras. The conducting threads were received from Ms. Azadeh Soroudi of the University of Boras. The conducting additive used for the threads was Carbon Black. The resistance was measured using two different methods: The two-terminal measurement method and the four-terminal measurement method. A result from the comparison of the two methods was that the two terminal measurement method provided more information than the fourterminal method. There seemed to be no advantage to use the four terminal method at all, for the resistance range studied

The aim of this study is to let an apparel business entrepreneur recognize the initiatives, challenges, channels, business and marketing strategy to start up a new apparel store. This investigation has been conducted by benchmarking marketing and business strategy of UNIQLO through BPM, SWOT Analysis and Porter’s Five Forces Model in order to initiate a new retail shop. The BPM model scrutinizes the whole process of the organization like customer needs, management processes, core processes, support processes etc. in order to improve continuously. The whole process to build an apparel retail store as well as facilitate an entrepreneur to detect a way to establish an outstanding brand has been demonstrated by this model. Furthermore, a framework has been delivered by ‘Marketing Mix’ consisting of 4 elements: Product, Price, Place, Promotion to manage the market and cause it one into a business context. This research is a qualitative based study to explore the object in a reasonable manner. In this qualitative study, primary data are obtained through an interview with related respondents. Business goals, success factors, critical success factors, measurable process controls have been determined for the proposed apparel retail showroom. As sustainability plays a vital role to strengthen the brand image around the world, the probable means to generate it has also been conferred. Keywords: BPM, location agnostic, apparels, retail-store, fitting room, omni-channel. DOI: 10.7176/EJBM/12-2-01 Publication date: January 31st 202

System Theoretic Process Analysis: a literature survey on the approaches used for improving the safety in complex systems

    Get PDF
Computer systems are becoming increasingly complex, specially interactive software systems, namely software user interfaces. The scientic community relies on dierent methods to assess their safety. This article provides an updated literature survey on hazard analysis approaches used to improve the safety of complex systems. To support the survey, we conceptualise complex systems, highlighting the challenge in terms of assessing their safety. We provide a brief overview on the approaches historically available to tackle issues in those systems, along with their most common methods. Finally, the article focuses in one method of a non-traditional approach, which is described in more details, along with some of its extensions, which seeks to improve the hazard analysis in complex systems

An approach to support entries for a design failure modes and effects analysis

The design of a fixture device is very laborious, requiring consideration of many issues from series production, information on the raw part material, required precision surfaces, ensuring an appropriate orientation scheme, continue with requirements related device itself as number of parts, parts type, complexity, manageability, easy operation and maintenance. That is why realising a proper analyse regarding the possible failures associated to these issues is overwhelming. This paper’s aim is to propose an approach for collection of items necessary for starting a Design FMEA, using Functional Analysis, TRIZ functional modelling and axiomatic design approaches. The proposed approach – to extract items for a FMEA analyse – is applied to an example of an expanding mandrel regarding its internal components and theirs relations in order to accomplish the main requirement: the accurate locating and clamping of a part

Digital Tools for Product Development and Organizational Management

The report illustrates about the digital tools those are used for product development and organizational management (apparel sector). We went to Lectra Sweden AB, DTS solutions AB to search our planned information about those tools. We got some additional information from them as well. We were interested to learn about much software for this but we studied about Lectra Fashion PLM, PISA PDM, and ERP Garp system (CRM, SRM, MRM) as we could manage opportunity to know about them only. For Lectra, we focused on general idea about this software, its different divisions, its working procedure, its advantage to use, its possibility to use for every company. On the other hand, we concentrated on almost similar way of Lectra for PDM, PLM, ERP (CRM, SRM, and MRM).We got different divisions of Lectra, namely- Kaledo, Modaris, Diamino, Optiplan are using for various purposes, like - design, pattern making, marker making, spreading and cutting. On the opposite side of the coin, if companies implement PDM, PLM and ERP system, they can assist to manage the whole business chain very easily for instance- product development, order, purchase, manufacturing, stock/distribution, economy, logistics etcetera. We also knew that it is expensive to buy those software’s and require special skill to operate so it is not prolific to all company.Program: Magisterutbildning i Applied Textile Managemen
