Exemplification between reformulation and argumentation in ancient greek: a corpus-study based on Plato's Republic

El objetivo de este trabajo es definir las diferentes funciones de la ejemplificación discursiva en griego antiguo a partir del estudio de los diferentes contextos ejemplificativos que aparecen en La República de Platón. Se parte de la propuesta de un doble prototipo para la ejemplificación, capaz de asumir funciones reformulativas y argumentativas, y se describen los diferentes procedimientos formales que participan en estas estrategias. Finalmente, la aproximación al fenómeno de la ejemplificación da pie a un análisis más detallado de determinados pasajes concretos.This corpus-study based on Plato’s Republic aims to approach exemplification in Ancient Greek. A complete study of every instance of exemplification in this dialogue allows us to describe a double-faced prototype: exemplification takes part in both reformulative and argumentative strategies in discourse. Formal procedures involved in exemplification processes are also described and illustrated. Finally, the analysis gives cause to a more thorough reading of some specific passages

Rubió i Bellver en la Església Nova : modernismo catalán en Son Servera (Mallorca)

La presencia de Rubió i Bellver en Mallorca fue fundamental, no sólo para el desarrollo del modernismo en la isla, sino también para la trayectoria profesional del arquitecto catalán. La Església Nova de Son Servera es uno de los tantos proyectos que Rubió dejó en la isla y que debió entender como parte de una iniciativa más global, acaudillada por el obispo Campins y el vicario general Alcover, y cuyo principal objetivo era dotar de un nuevo perfil cultural a la isla semejante al catalán y coincidente en su base nacionalista. Rubió opta por una planimetría propia del gótico de la zona y la revisa por una contemporaneidad heredada, en gran medida, de su maestro, Antoni Gaudí. La Església Nova de Son Servera resulta excepcional, entre otros motivos, por el ingente material de archivo que se conserva y que nos permite recuperar la historia de su construcción prácticamente en su totalidad.The presence of the Catalan architect Rubió i Bellver in Majorca was fundamental not only for the development of Modernism on the island, but also for his professional career. The Església Nova of Son Servera is one of the many projects that Rubió left on the island which must be understood as part of a more global initiative, led by the Bishop Campins and the Vicar General Alcover, whose principal aim was to provide the island with a new cultural profile similar to that of Catalonia and coincidental with its nationalistic base. Rubió chose the Gothic of the area and reviewed it by a contemporaneousness inherited, to a larget extent, from his teacher, Antoni Gaudí. The Església Nova de Son Servera is exceptional, among other reasons, for the enormous amount of documentation that remains and that allows us to recover the history of the construction practically in its entirety

Aloy de Montbray imaginator: From the Kingdom of France to the Crown of Aragon in the Fourteenth Century

Aloi de Montbrai és un dels artistes més documentats i menys coneguts del segle XIV, malgrat haver treballat a la Corona d’Aragó durant quasi cinquanta anys. En aquest estudi, s’ofereix una proposta raonable sobre els seus inicis professionals al Regne de França, en el focus artístic parisenc on destacava com a promotora la comtessa Mahaut d’Artois, i sobre les circumstàncies històriques que van afavorir la seva presència com a escultor a la Corona d’Aragó. Al llarg de la seva dilatada carrera, va treballar per a l’alta noblesa, per a l’Església i, molt especialment, per al rei Pere el Cerimoniós, qui li va encarregar el monument funerari de la seva mare i, més tard, el seu propi, amb la realització del qual va donar començament als Panteons Reials de Poblet. Per aconseguir-ho, s’ha hagut de dur a terme una revisió raonada de la seva obra a partir de la documentació, el debat historiogràfic i l’anàlisi directa d’aquesta.Aloy de Montbray is one of the most documented yet less known artists of the fourteenth century, despite having worked in the Crown of Aragon for nearly fifty years. This study puts forward a reasonable proposal about his early career in the Kingdom of France in the artistic milieu of Paris where the countess Mahaut d’Artois was a renowned patron of the arts, and about the historic circumstances that favored his presence as a sculptor in the Crown of Aragon. Throughout his lengthy career, he worked for the nobility, the Church, and especially King Peter the Ceremonious, who commissioned him the construction of the Queen mother’s funeral monument and later his own, which would come to be the Royal Pantheon of Poblet. To achieve this, a revision of the artist’s work has been carried out through documentation, the historiographic debate, and direct analysis
