    Innovation through urban diversity and achieving comprehensive sustainable urbanism from a community-oriented approach

    In current urban studies focused on pathways of sustainable urbanism, the main discourse is on the development of all-inclusive approaches or comprehensive methods that could encompass multiple factors of sustainability. As a result, a bigger emphasis has been given to other dimensions of “cultural” or “governance” (also known as institutional). In more recent years, more scholarly research studies refer to governance as the fourth pillar of sustainability, and more research studies analyse the multi-dimensional methods of socio-cultural, socio-economic, etc. These factors all have major impacts on the social, environmental, and economic aspects of the city. As a result, this research study aims to test the notion of “sustainable urbanism” from a behavioural perspective, which includes market development behavior and political economy (or mixed economy). This study promotes urban diversity from the multiplicity of diversity across the physical environment, social and economic systems, cultural attributes, people backgrounds, professions and sectors, etc. This then leads to discussions on innovation through urban diversity. Hence, it is important to evaluate how diversity promotes sustainable urbanism through specific economic and social systems in contemporary city development scenarios. The findings from this study feed into matters of urban diversity and urban innovation, and towards pathways of sustainable urbanism

    The Study Of The Relationship Between Workplace Environment And Employee Job Performance In One Of The Manufacturing Company In Ipoh, Perak

    The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between the workplace environment and the employee job performance based on the four factors of workplace environment. The respondents used in this study are 58 employees from one of the manufacturing company in Ipoh, Perak. Quantitative method was used and 4 points Likert-scale questionnaires were distributed to the respondents. The data were analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Pearson’s Correlation Analysis was used to measure the relationship between the variables while multiple linear regression analysis was used to determine the most dominant factor that affecting the employee job performance. From the research findings, there are significant relationships between supervisor support, work incentives, physical work environment and training with employee job performance. Training is the most dominant factor among the factors that affecting the employee job performance. Based on the findings, implication of study was presented, followed by recommendations for organization and future researchers. The organizations can utilise the findings to create a conducive workplace environment for improving employee job performance

    Design and simulation analysis of an improved lower limb exoskeleton

    The lower extremity exoskeleton robot is a type of power assisted robot which can enhance the human walking function. A fundamental problem in the development of the exoskeleton is the choice of lightweight actuators. Thus in the mechanical structure design in this paper, the linear motor is selected as it greatly reduces the complexity of the mechanical structure. Furthermore, the limit switch inside the motor improves the safety performance. Based on the last version of the exoskeleton, the band positions, length adjusting holes and mechanical limit structures are increased. In addition, a control system based on DSP is designed. Furthermore, a kinematics analysis is carried out using the D-H parameter method and a dynamic analysis is developed using the Newton-Euler method. The driving force of every joint is obtained during the simulation using ADAMS software
