Enhanced internalization of lipid nanocapsules in human glioblastoma cells: Influence of the concentration of surface-functionalizing NFL peptide

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) patients have median survival of 14 months after current treatments. Therefore, more efficacious therapies are necessary. Lipid nanocapsules (LNC) functionalized with NFL.TBS-40.63 peptide (NFL) showed enhanced internalization in mouse GBM cells. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of the surface-functionalizing FAM-NFL (fluoNFL) concentrations on LNC uptake in U87MG human GBM cells. A ferrocifen-type anticancer molecule (FcTriOH) was encapsulated in the nanocarriers and their in vitro efficacy on U87MG cells was evaluated. SOME DISPUTABLE ISSUES CONCERNING REVOCATION OF A CONTRACT ON ASSIGNMENT AND DISTRIBUTION OF PROPERTY FOR LIFE

With the introduction of the notary public into the legal system of the Republic ofSerbia, there has been a certain reaffirmation of a contract on assignment and distribution ofproperty for life, which has been increasingly concluded in recent years. At the same time,an increase in the number of revocations of this contract should be expected. The legislationof Serbia and North Macedonia prescribe specific reasons for the revocation of the contracton assignment and distribution of property for life by the assignor of the property in orderto protect his interests. Both legal systems provide for gross ingratitude of the descendantstowards the assignor of the property as a reason for unilateral termination of the contract.When the descendants under this contract undertake obligations towards the assignor, theMacedonian legislator prescribes the possibility of unilateral termination of the contractaccording to the provisions governing the unilateral termination of bilaterally bindingcontracts. On the other hand, the Serbian legislator gives different significance to the certainobligations under the contract, and prescribes the possibility of its unilateral revocation onlyin the case when the descendant did not give the settled maintenance or did not pay the debtsof the assignor. Insufficiently precise regulation of this type of termination of a valid contracton assignment and distribution of property for life raises a number of controversial issues.In this paper, the authors give a detailed analysis of the reasons for revoking this contract.They take into consideration courts’ interpretation of the legal standard of gross ingratitude,as well as under which conditions they allow the termination of the contract in the case of notprovided maintenance and non-payment of the debts

Creationism in Europe: facts, gaps and prospects

The purpose of the paper is threefold. First, we present and discuss the extant literature on creationism in Europe (the “facts”). Within this section, we offer a review of the literature as well as an overview of the most remarkable developments and events recorded therein. Second, we indicate which material is missing from the literature (the “gaps”) and signal which gaps we think should first be filled. And third, on the basis of a forthcoming international historical study, we outline the possible factors that affect the popularity of creationism in Europe (the “prospects”). We also sketch how a sustained study of European creationism can contribute to other research domains such as the study of cultural evolution and the relation between science and religion

Diese Entwicklung verstärkt das Interesse an rechtsvergleichenden Ausführungen zu diesen ausländischen Organisationsformen, zu denen insbesondere in allen drei hier untersuchten Rechtsordnungen Stiftungen gehören, die trotz aller Unterschiede im Detail funktional vergleichbar sind

Reflected backward stochastic differential equations with two RCLL barriers

In this paper we consider BSDEs with Lipschitz coefficient reflected on two discontinuous (RCLL) barriers. In this case, we prove first the existence and uniqueness of the solution, then we also prove the convergence of the solutions of the penalized equations to the solution of the RBSDE. Since the method used in the case of continuous barriers (see Cvitanic and Karatzas, Ann. Probab. 24 (1996) 2024–2056 and Lepeltier and San Martín, J. Appl. Probab. 41 (2004) 162–175) does not work, we develop a new method, by considering the solutions of the penalized equations as the solutions of special RBSDEs and using some results of Peng and Xu in Annales of I.H.P. 41 (2005) 605–630
