They are growing up in a highly technical environment in which information needs are increasingly being met directly online through different devices and without visiting libraries (even virtually). This article warns about the need to be aware of this situation in order to build a library model than can remain useful over time

Las relaciones entre Ecuador y Colombia: un ejemplo de la necesidad de una política exterior democrática (Coyuntura)

El autor realiza una revisión de las que considera han sido las deficiencias de la política exterior ecuatoriana hacia Colombia. La carencia de consensos básicos, la escasa coordinación civil-militar, la falta de participación ciudadana, la débil vinculación entre política externa e interna y la usencia de una agenda específica para Colombia, son algunos de los aspectos analizados por Ponce, quien finalmente plantea algunos de los elementos que deberían fundamentar la elaboración de una política exterior de Ecuador hacia Colombia, destacando la elaboración de una agenda clara de política exterior que priorice los objetivos nacionales internos.The author reviews Ecuador's foreign policy towards Colombia, which is considered as a deficient one. This article analyses such issues as the absence of an elementary domestic consensus, the precarious coordination between civil and military officials, the weak links between domestic policies and foreign policy, and the lake of a specific agenda towards Colombia. The author recommends developing a foreign policy based on a well-established agenda, which should give priority to domestic goals

En el siguiente artículo se pretende exponer una panorámica general del pensamiento de Hannah Arendt acerca de la cuestión del mal. Para ello estudiaremos brevemente el planteamiento de Kant sobre el “mal radical”, que resultó de enorme influencia para la propia Arendt. Posteriormente observaremos la posición que mantuvo la pensadora en Los orígenes del totalitarismo y el cambio de enfoque que supuso la obra Eichmann en Jerusalén con el término “banalidad del mal”. Por último, abogaremos por una continuidad y compatibilidad entre ambas posturasThe aim of this article is to provide a panoramic exposition of Hannah Arendt’s thought about the issue of evil. In order to achieve this task, I will pose briefly Kant’s approach of ‘radical evil’, which had an enormous relevance for Arendt. Then, I will point out the stance held by her in The Origins of Totalitarianism and later to explain the way Arendt changed her mind after Eichmann in Jerusalem, particularly through the term ‘banality of evil’. En la sombra acecha: residuos totalitarios de nuestra era

A pesar de que los dos grandes regímenes totalitarios conocidos por la humanidad –el nazismo y el estalinismo– se hayan extinguido, ello no quiere decir el totalitaris-mo haya desaparecido. A través del presente artículo tratamos de exponer cómo algunas de sus soluciones siguen perpetuándose en la economía y la política actuales. De un lado, atenderemos a que el «ultraliberalismo» económico manifiesta ciertos aspectos totalitarios en su concepción de la historia, la abstracción antropológica que hace del hombre, su radi-calismo y maniqueísmo respecto a otros modelos económicos y su visión monista del mundo. De otro lado, se pretende analizar el comportamiento totalitario de algunos de los partidos y movimientos de ultraderecha que han nacido o que han resurgido en Europa a raíz de la crisis económica social, política y axiológica que atravesamos en nuestro tiempo.Despite the fact that Nazism and Stalinism, the two largest regimes of totalitarianism, become extinct, does not imply that totalitarianism has been abolished. We will hereby try to explain how some of the possible solutions have lingered in current economy and politics. También exploramos el concepto clásico de comunidad, e intentamos explicar que está pasando hoy en día con esas comunidades. Finalmente, analizamos las fiestas locales y las fiestas globales como los dos tipos principales de expresión / simulacro de las comunidades actuales.In this article, the feast is considered as a manifestation of “collective effervescence” in the sense of Durkheim. Based on the classical concept of community, an intent will be made to explain the actual situation of the festive communities. Seducción, comunidad y desigualdad: el ciberespacio y sus consecuencias socio-políticas

En este artículo ofrecemos algunas claves para analizar el ciberespacio y las nuevas tecnologías desde un punto de vista crítico. Las nuevas tecnologías tienen un enorme y profundo poder seductor y serias consecuencias socio-políticas en las sociedades contemporáneas, y traen a las sociedades contemporáneas y también a los análisis sociales contemporáneos la vieja y moderna idea de progreso. Quizá el problema principal ligado a las nuevas tecnologías es su capacidad para ocultar los procesos sociales que están teniendo lugar tras ellas. La brecha digital está construida como un problema auto-referencial – que permite el retorno de la política -, que, generalmente, ha evitado otros problemas sociales que están teniendo lugar en las sociedades contemporáneas. Problemas vinculados no sólo con el acceso, sino con el uso y las disposiciones socio-culturales nos hablan de las fuertes y profundas líneas de desigualdad que podemos encontrar en las relaciones entre individuos y artefactos tecnológicos.In this article we offer some keys to analyze cyberspace and new technologies from a critical point of view. New technologies have a strong seductive power and serious socio-political consequences, and they bring to the contemporary societies and also to the contemporary social analysis the old and modern idea of progress. Perhaps the main problem linked to the new technologies is its ability to hide the social processes which are taking place behind them. The digital divide is constructed as a self-referent problem which, generally, has avoided other social problems which are taking place in contemporary societies. Problems related no only to the access, but to the use and to the socio-cultural dispositions are behind the strong lines of inequality that we can find in the relationship between individuals and technological artefacts

Sensor de luz : diseño del circuito de acondiciomamiento de señal

The light is a natural power source which allows the human to accomplish the majority of their activities. When the night falls is indispensable to have good light conditions to do some usually human activities, like for example driving, also it is necessary to know the most suitable lighting level for light conditions of the environment in order to optimize the process and use the least amount of energy possible. In this project some components, which detect the illuminance and transform it in electrical signals, are analysed. Also three experiments are conducted in order to characterized and validate the options of using LEDs for this purpose. Finally and due to the results obtained another solution is given, which is more suitable for this objective, it is proposed at the end of the project.Ingeniería Industria
