The National Meeting of Production Engineering (ENEGEP) is an event organized by the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (ABEPRO) in which brings together the academic community of researchers working in the sector of Production Engineering and constitutes one of the leading promoters of technical and scientific production in the area. Among the various topics transiting the meeting, cost management is one of those who has relevant interaction. This article aims to analyze the academic contributions published in the Annals ENEGEP from 2008 to 2018 and trends in the area of Economic Management, Cost Management subarea. Methodologically it made the use of bibliometric analysis techniques, analyzing, quantitatively and qualitatively, 219 articles, considering the following variables: quantitative evolution of publications; authoring features per article; authors; educational institutions; keywords; and themes. The main results identified an average of twenty papers per year with the cost management issue, the vast majority of publications were carried out with two or more authors, in relation to the authorship, 71% of authors had only one article, the southern region is the one most representative authors of publications, and as to the keywords which is evident most frequently are "Cost Management" and "costs"

OBJECTIVES: Due to the dramatic medical breakthroughs and an increasingly ageing population, the proportion of patients who are at risk of dying following surgery is increasing over time. The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcomes and the epidemiology of non-cardiac surgical patients admitted to the intensive care unit. METHODS: A multicenter, prospective, observational, cohort study was carried out in 21 intensive care units. A total of 885 adult surgical patients admitted to a participating intensive care unit from April to June 2006 were evaluated and 587 patients were enrolled. Exclusion criteria were trauma, cardiac, neurological, gynecologic, obstetric and palliative surgeries. The main outcome measures were postoperative complications and intensive care unit and 90-day mortality rates. RESULTS: Major and urgent surgeries were performed in 66.4% and 31.7% of the patients, respectively. The intensive care unit mortality rate was 15%, and 38% of the patients had postoperative complications. The most common complication was infection or sepsis (24.7%). Myocardial ischemia was diagnosed in only 1.9% of the patients. A total of 94 % of the patients who died after surgery had co-morbidities at the time of surgery (3.4 ± 2.2). Multiple organ failure was the main cause of death (53%). CONCLUSION: Sepsis is the predominant cause of morbidity in patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery.

This research aimed to evaluate the work environment in a tool manufacturing factory. This process involves the cutting activities, orvado, turning, forger, temper, cable insertion, grinding, welding and varnishing. To evaluate the thermal comfort was used IBUTG to measure the wind speed anemometer, lux meter to evaluate the brightness and decibel meter to analyse the exposure of workers to noise. The data ranged IBUTG on average 20.9°C at 27.3°C. The forger had the highest IBUTG values averaged over the entire production process. All activities had wind speeds below 0.75 m/s, being perfectly acceptable for the entire workday. The average luminance oscillated from 42.9 lux to 393.3 lux. The activities of varnish, temper, forger and cable insertion had average illuminance below 150 lux required throughout the workday. All activities presented noise above 85 dB(A), except the varnishing and cutting. Noise levels ranged on average of 79.7 dB(A) in varnishing at 8 hours 95.7 dB (A), in the grinding at 13 hours

    Brazilian Consensus on Photoprotection

Brazil is a country of continental dimensions with a large heterogeneity of climates and massive mixing of the population. Almost the entire national territory is located between the Equator and the Tropic of Capricorn, and the Earth axial tilt to the south certainly makes Brazil one of the countries of the world with greater extent of land in proximity to the sun. The Brazilian coastline, where most of its population lives, is more than 8,500 km long. Due to geographic characteristics and cultural trends, Brazilians are among the peoples with the highest annual exposure to the sun. Epidemiological data show a continuing increase in the incidence of nonmelanoma and melanoma skin cancers. Photoprotection can be understood as a set of measures aimed at reducing sun exposure and at preventing the development of acute and chronic actinic damage. Due to the peculiarities of Brazilian territory and culture, it would not be advisable to replicate the concepts of photoprotection from other developed countries, places with completely different climates and populations. Thus the Brazilian Society of Dermatology has developed the Brazilian Consensus on Photoprotection, the first official document on photoprotection developed in Brazil for Brazilians, with recommendations on matters involving photoprotection
