On the continuity of lyapunov exponents of random walks in random potentials
We consider a simple random walk in an i.i.d. non-negative potential on the
d-dimensional integer lattice, . We study the quenched Lyapunov
exponents, and present a probabilistic proof of its continuity when the
potentials converge in distribution.Comment: 24
CRACKING CORROSION OF LOW CARBON STEEL IN ENVIRONMENT WITH A HIGH CONCENTRATION OF CO2 AND H2S
Cracking corrosion of API 5CT Grade L80 Type 1 low carbon steel has been studied in a in brine solutions with H2S 12.3 psia and CO2 9.4 psia. Testing was performed according to the methodology reference from the NACE TM0177, Bent-beam test method in solution B for stress corrosion cracking and sulfide stress corrosion cracking test and NACE TM0284, immersion test method in solution A for Hydrogen induced cracking test. The obtained results showed pitting and general corrosion at both temperatures of 24 oC and 82 oC. In case of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) testing at 82 °C, microscopy of the samples tested for 30 days developed pitting corrosion in the surface and cracking starting in the surface of the samples. The cracks, mostly found in the middle of the samples where the maximum bending occurred. General corrosion was also observed in the samples, with significant decrease in the dimensions of the samples after testing (due to general corrosion). However, in case of sulfide stress corrosion (SSC) and hydrogen induced cracking (HIC) tests at room temperature (24-25 oC), no cracking was observed on the sample.
Developing tourism in Vietnam under the trend of green growth and green investment
The global tourism industry is waking up to the risks of environmental pollution caused by tourism activities. Therefore, Green Tourism is becoming an important and attractive trend, and it is also an opportunity to protect natural resources, maintain environmental balance and promote sustainable development. Vietnam, with its amazing natural beauty and unique cultural heritage, has great potential to develop green tourism. However, to achieve this goal, Vietnam needs to face challenges and have the right solutions. The article focuses on evaluating the current status of green tourism in Vietnam, highlighting the advantages and limitations that exist in the development process, from which the author proposes some to promote tourism development towards green investment, green growth and sustainability
Vitamin C inhibited FasL-induced apoptotic death of mouse dendritic cells through c-FLIP expression
Vitamin C (VitC) is a potent antioxidant and contributes as an apoptosis inhibitor by preventing death receptor-triggered caspase 8 activity. Fas ligand (FasL) induces the apoptotic cell death via activation of Fas signaling, which is dependent on the expression level of anti-apoptotic molecule c-FLIP (FADD-like IL-1beta-converting enzyme-inhibitory proteins). The present study addressed the effects of VitC on survival of dendritic cells (DCs), a regulator of innate and adaptive immunity. To this end, mouse bone marrow cells were isolated and cultured to attain bone marrow-derived DCs (BMDCs). The cells were treated with FasL in the presence or absence of VitC. Real time RT-PCR, Western blotting and FACS analysis were performed to determine different hallmarks of DC apoptosis. As a result, FasL treatment resulted in activation of caspase 8 and stimulation of cell membrane scrambling, the effects were supressed when VitC was present in the cell culture or the cells were transfected with FLIP siRNA. In conclusion, VitC prevented FasL-triggered DC apoptosis mediated through the expression of c-FLIP
Current situation of microfinance implementation at Vietnamese commercial banks
Microfinance is considered an effective tool in the strategy of hunger eradication, poverty reduction, income generation and improving living standards for the poor in countries. Among the subjects providing microfinance, commercial banks are a special and important subject. In the context of official microfinance institutions in Vietnam developing quite slowly, not attracting much attention from state management agencies, socio-political organizations, donors and related parties; Researching the current status of microfinance implementation at commercial banks in Vietnam is necessary. The goal of the article is to understand the current status of microfinance implementation at commercial banks in Vietnam, thereby providing some suggestions to develop this activity, towards the goal of comprehensive finance
An Inexact Primal-Dual Smoothing Framework for Large-Scale Non-Bilinear Saddle Point Problems
We develop an inexact primal-dual first-order smoothing framework to solve a
class of non-bilinear saddle point problems with primal strong convexity.
Compared with existing methods, our framework yields a significant improvement
over the primal oracle complexity, while it has competitive dual oracle
complexity. In addition, we consider the situation where the primal-dual
coupling term has a large number of component functions. To efficiently handle
this situation, we develop a randomized version of our smoothing framework,
which allows the primal and dual sub-problems in each iteration to be solved by
randomized algorithms inexactly in expectation. The convergence of this
framework is analyzed both in expectation and with high probability. In terms
of the primal and dual oracle complexities, this framework significantly
improves over its deterministic counterpart. As an important application, we
adapt both frameworks for solving convex optimization problems with many
functional constraints. To obtain an -optimal and
-feasible solution, both frameworks achieve the best-known oracle
complexities (in terms of their dependence on )
EFL LEARNERS’ PERCEPTION ABOUT PREFIXES AND SUFFIXES IN ENGLISH MORPHOLOGY
Affix knowledge is crucial for enhancing word knowledge in English morphology. Understanding the meaning of affixes not only helps develop knowledge of words but also helps master grammar. This study uses a questionnaire to assess the knowledge of prefixes and affixes and determine students' awareness of affixes. The 21 students participating in the study were all students of the 45th course, majoring in high-quality English. A survey about affix identification was given to participants, to determine their definitions and perceptions of prefixes and suffixes in English morphology. The results show that students can identify a common affix but have difficulty with strange affixes. However, to understand affixes well and be good at morphological awareness, students need to cultivate and understand the theoretical aspects of this knowledge. Another inference of these findings is favorable in the discussion part. Article visualizations
Typical Values of the Nguyen Dynasty’s Decorative Art on Bronze Objects in Hue
In the general relationship of culture and art, the Nguyen lords and kings made many contributions to the shaping and development of Cochinchina, enhanced the country's position and influence with other countries in the region. The decorative art on bronze objects in the Nguyen Dynasty contains many cultural, historical and aesthetic values with multi-dimensional and multi-layered symbol. This has shown the synthesis of values, in which aesthetic value is one of the outstanding points. The decorative art on bronze objects in the Nguyen Dynasty take an important role in preserving and conserving national artistic and cultural values. Besides this, the expressive value on bronze and the emotiveness from the surface of the material also enhance the values of the decorative art. The Nguyen Dynasty’s decorative art on bronze objects in Hue has shown the richness of art and culture. Through the study we can see and feel the great ingenuity and creative spirit of the artisan classes. This is one of the factors affirming the position of the Nguyen dynasty's decorative art on bronze objects in the general of Vietnamese bronze art
