    Investigate the Structural Response of Ultra High Performance Concrete Column under the High Explosion

    Most of the structures that are damaged by an explosion are not initially designed to resist this kind of load. In the overall structure of any building, columns play an important role to prevent the collapse of frame structure under blast impact. Hence, the main concept in the blast resistance design of the structure is to improve the blast load capacity of the column. In this study, dynamic analysis and numerical model of Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) column under high explosive load, is presented. Based on the Johnson Holmquist 2 damage model and the subroutine in the ABAQUS platform, a total of twenty UHPC model of the column were calculated. The objective of the article is to investigate the structural response of the UHPC column and locate the most vulnerable scenarios to propose necessary recommendations for the UHPC column in the blast loading resistance design. The input parameters, including the effect of various shapes of cross-section, scaled distance, steel reinforcement ratio, and cross-section area, are analyzed to clarify the dynamic behavior of the UHPC column subjected to blast loading. Details of the numerical data, and the discussion on the important obtained results, are also provided in this paper

    Benefits of triple-layer remote phosphor structure in improving color quality and luminous flux of white LED

    Remote phosphor structure has higher luminous efficiency comparing to that of both conformal phosphor and in-cup phosphor structures. However, it is hard to control the color quality of remote phosphor structure, and this issue has become one of the most researchable objectives to many researchers in recent years. Up to now, there are two remote phosphor structures applied to improve the color quality, including dual-layer phosphor configuration and triple-layer phosphor configuration. The purpose of this research is to select one of those configurations to have multi-chip white LEDs (WLEDs) achieved the highest color rendering index (CRI), color quality scale (CQS), luminous efficacy (LE), and color uniformity. In this research, WLEDs with two correlated color temperatures (CCT) of 6600K and 7700K were applied. The obtained results showed that triple-layer phosphor configuration is more outstanding in CRI, CQS, and LE. Moreover, the color deviation has been significantly reduced, which means the color uniformity has been enhanced with the application of triple-layer phosphor configuration. These results can be proven by scattering properties of phosphor layers based on Mie theory. Thus, the researched results have become a reliable and valuable reference for manufacturing higher-quality WLEDs

    A Status Data Transmitting System for Vessel Monitoring

    This paper presents a status data transmitting system suitable for vessel monitoring. The system consists of four main parts, which are a status data module, a frequency synthesizer, a power amplifier and a horn antenna. The status data module packs information of the identification, longitude, latitude and state of the vessel into data frames. FSK/MSK/GMSK schemes were used to modulate the data. The frequency synthesizer was designed with very high stability over temperature and very low frequency tolerance. The power amplifier provides 130 W output power at S band. The impedance bandwidth of the horn antenna can be controlled using the beveling technique

    Recommending Code Changes for Automatic Backporting of Linux Device Drivers

    International audienceDevice drivers are essential components of any operating system (OS). They specify the communication protocol that allows the OS to interact with a device. However, drivers for new devices are usually created for a specific OS version. These drivers often need to be backported to the older versions to allow use of the new device. Backporting is often done manually, and is tedious and error prone. To alleviate this burden on developers, we propose an automatic recommendation system to guide the selection of backporting changes. Our approach analyzes the version history for cues to recommend candidate changes. We have performed an experiment on 100 Linux driver files and have shown that we can give a recommendation containing the correct backport for 68 of the drivers. For these 68 cases, 73.5%, 85.3%, and 88.2% of the correct recommendations are located in the Top-1, Top-2, and Top-5 positions of the recommendation lists respectively. The successful cases cover various kinds of changes including change of record access, deletion of function argument, change of a function name, change of constant, and change of if condition. Manual investigation of failed cases highlights limitations of our approach, including inability to infer complex changes, and unavailability of relevant cues in version history
