Polska i polskość w tekstach kultury popularnej (na przykładzie wybranych piosenek)

One of the key elements of building respect for such values as patriotism, freedom, tolerance is to learn, read, interpret at school the texts that these values represent, without excluding works belonging to popular culture, which is so close to young people. The article presents the results of the analysis of selected texts from the circle of popular culture (songs) in terms of the functioning of Polish and Polishness issues in them. Formulated conclusions may be helpful in designing education aimed at building multidimensional identity of young people.Jednym z kluczowych elementów budowania szacunku dla takich wartości jak patriotyzm, wolność, tolerancja jest poznawanie, czytanie, interpretacja w szkole tekstów, które te wartości reprezentują, bez wykluczania utworów przynależnych do kultury popularnej, która jest tak bliska młodzieży. Od izolacji do wspólnoty: Kilka uwag o Polakach z Krainy Wielokulturowości w Brazylii

The article remains in line with the trend of interdisciplinary research on multiculturalism and community building, as set in the context of ethnic communities in Brazil in general and focused on the activities of the Ethnic Union in the Ijuí region in southern Brazil in specific. Particular attention is paid to the history of the Polish settlement, which allows drawing conclusions with regard to the status of the Polish community in as a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society as that of Brazil. The observations make it possible to conclude that in the process of shaping ethnic communities, the Polish one included, these social groups have come their long way from isolation and closure to openness and cooperation. It is noted that the Church has played a major role in the process of preserving and fostering the national and cultural identities of Polish emigrants, both in the early period of the Polish settlement as much as today. In its current policy, the Brazilian government implements the idea of supporting a multicultural and multiethnic society. Poles in Brazil signal the need for contact with the country of their ancestors, their language and culture, which is the reason why what proves to be extremely valuable includes all kinds of initiatives aimed at preserving national identity, improving the ability to use the Polish language, and building a sense of bond with the Polish culture (past and contemporary).Problematyka artykułu wpisuje się w nurt badań interdyscyplinarnych nad wielokulturowością i budowaniem wspólnoty w kontekście środowisk etnicznych w Brazylii. Przedmiotem obserwacji uczyniono działania Związku Etnicznego w regionie Ijuí w południowej Brazylii. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono historii polskiego osadnictwa w tym kraju, co pozwoliło na wyciągnięcie wniosków dotyczących statusu Polonii w tym wieloetnicznym i wielokulturowym społeczeństwie. Poczynione obserwacje uprawniają do stwierdzenia, iż w procesie kształtowania wspólnot etnicznych, w tym polskiej, grupy te przeszły drogę od izolacji i zamknięcia do otwarcia się i współpracy. Zauważono, iż dużą rolę w procesie zachowania tożsamości narodowej i kulturowej polskich emigrantów odegrał Kościół, zarówno w początkowym okresie osadnictwa polskiego, jak i współcześnie. Obecna polityka rządu brazylijskiego realizuje ideę wspierania wielokulturowego i wieloetnicznego społeczeństwa. Polacy w Brazylii sygnalizują konieczność kontaktu z krajem przodków, jego językiem i kulturą, dlatego niezwykle cenne są wszelkie inicjatywy mające na celu pomoc w zachowaniu tożsamości narodowej, doskonaleniu umiejętności posługiwania się językiem polskim i budowaniu poczucia więzi z polską kulturą (dawną i współczesną)

The article presents the results of a survey which focuses on the online functioning of assigned school reading. It’s based on the opinions of students, teachers andm selected websites where you can find assigned school reading, as well as texts, study guides and opinions connected with it. The collected data led to drawing certain conclusions, namely assigned school reading available online can and be used in teaching Polish.Artykuł prezentuje wyniki sondażu diagnostycznego dotyczącego sposobów funkcjonowania w Sieci lektury szkolnej. Źródłem wiedzy były opinie uczniów i nauczycieli oraz wybrane strony internetowe, na których pojawia się lektura szkolna lub teksty, opracowania, wypowiedzi z nią związane. Zebrany materiał posłużył do sformułowania wniosków edukacyjnych. Z całą pewnością „lekturowe zasoby sieciowe” mogą i powinny być wykorzystywane w praktyce polonistycznej

Pamięć o Holokauście w czasach Instagrama na przykładzie projektu Eva Stories

The extermination of Jews in the context of how the 20th-century totalitarianisms and genocides are remembered has been considered many times, as have the ways of how this happens to be “described” in culture, literature and art. With regard to the issues raised in the text, references were made to the concept of cultural memory, post-memory, and a discussion of the ways of commemorating the Holocaust. The article is devoted to new forms of remembrance of the Shoah. The subject of the research is a project on the Instagram Eva Stories social network, the basis of which was the diary of a Hungarian Jewish girl, Éva Heyman. In order to find out about the opinions on the Eva Stories project, a survey of its recipients was conducted. Using Instagram as a "storage medium" turned out to be the right choice in the opinion of the website users.Zagłada Żydów w kontekście pamięci XX-wiecznych totalitaryzmów i ludobójstw była już wielokrotnie rozważana, podobnie jak sposoby jej „opisywania” w kulturze, literaturze, sztuce. Rozważając zagadnienia podjęte w tekście, odwołano się do pojęcia pamięci kulturowej, postpamięci, dyskusji na temat sposobów upamiętniania Holokaustu. Artykuł jest poświęcony nowym formom pamięci o Shoah. Przedmiotem badań jest projekt w serwisie społecznościowym Instagram Eva Stories, którego podstawą był dziennik węgierskiej Żydówki, Évy Heyman. Aby poznać opinie na temat projektu Eva Stories, przeprowadzono badanie sondażowe wśród jego odbiorców. Adipokines and Insulin Resistance in Young Adult Survivors of Childhood Cancer

We examined the association between adipokines (leptin, adiponectin, and resistin), radiotherapy, measurement of body fat, and insulin resistance among young adult survivors of childhood cancer (CCS). Materials and Methods. Seventy-six survivors were included (mean age 24.1±3.5 years). Insulin resistance (IR) was calculated using the homeostasis model assessment (HOMA-IR). The serum levels of adipokines were assayed by immunoassays. Fat mass was evaluated by DXA. Results. Mean adiponectin level and mean body FAT were higher in the examined females than in males (10009±6367 ng/mL versus 6433±4136 ng/mL, p<0.01; 35.98±9.61% versus 22.7±7.46%, p<0.001). Among CCS, one of 75 patients met the criteria of insulin resistance, and in 14 patients there was impaired fasting glucose. The multiple regression model for females showed that leptin/adiponectin ratio (LA ratio) significantly affected HOMA-IR (increase of 0.024 per each unit of LA ratio; p<0.05). Radiotherapy had no effect on serum adipokines and IR. Conclusion. The observed results support the hypothesis that adiponectin might be associated with insulin resistance and it can not be ruled out that changes in the mean level of adiponectin per FAT mass or leptin/adiponectin ratio may precede the occurrence of insulin resistance in the future
