Agro-industrial development and sustainability in Bangladesh-A study

A study was conducted to know the current state of development sustainability of the agroindustrial sector in terms of its product diversity, export volume, export value, destination of the product by region and country. A structured questionnaire was prepared to do the random sampling survey and focused group discussion also held with the relevant stakeholder in agro-industrial sphere. The study revealed that in terms of value, the highest exported agro processed product is spices 21.46 million US$(25$ 70.13 million. In terms of export value, the major destination of Bangladesh agro-processed product is Kingdom of Saudi Arabia(KSA) which amount is 20.2 million US$. The role of advertising is very big for a company, especially a cigarette company. The strict regulation of cigarette advertising makes companies need to think about the concept of advertising that is used to be effective in attracting public interest. Advertising with a cultural theme is an option for cigarette manufacturers to advertise their products. The cultural representation in advertisements is easier for the public to accept because it suits with the conditions of the society . The purpose of this study is to find a form of representation of Indonesian culture in the Independence edition of Gudang Garam advertisement. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with the semiotic theory approach of Roland Barthes which uses two stage significance, wich is denotation and connotation and myths in the shot of the scene in advertisements, this process will be described by categorization of Indonesian culture, wich is traditional clothing, livelihood systems, language, and art. The results of this study indicate that there is a representation of Indonesian culture in the form of these four cultural categorizations

Bone Activity Biomarkers and Bone Mineral Density in Children with Chronic Kidney Disease

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease - mineral and bone disorder (CKD-MBD) is a spectrum of bone minerals changes that range from high turnover lesions of secondary hyperparathyroidism to the low turnover lesions of adynamic bone disease. Bone biopsy is the gold standard for the diagnosis, but it is not routinely performed because it is invasive technique. Methods: Fifteen CKD children on regular hemodialysis (group I) and 15 CKD children on conservative management (group II) were selected from the nephrology clinics of Zagazig University Hospitals along with 15 age and sex-matched healthy controls. Participants were subjected to biochemical assessment that included osteocalcin (OC), total and bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (tALP and bALP), isomerized beta form of type I collagen cross-linked telopeptide (β-Crosslaps) and intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) levels. Patients with CKD also had their bone mineral density (BMD) measured using dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) at lumbar spine and femoral neck. Results: Serum β-Crosslaps, OC and bALP were significantly higher in patient groups than controls and in group I compared to group II .There was a negative significant correlation between mean Z-score at lumbar spines and bALP, OC and iPTH in group I and with β-Crosslaps in both patient groups. The mean Z-score at femoral neck correlated negatively with bALP in group I, with OC in group II and with iPTH and β-Crosslaps in both groups. Conclusion: Biochemical bone markers and assessment of BMD in patients with CKD may have a role in the early detection of CDK-MBD. Penggunaan Tepung Keong Mas dan Suplementasi Probiotik dalam Ransum terhadap Performa Itik Peking

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi performan itik Peking dengan penggunaan tepung keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata Lamarck) dan suplementasi probiotik dalam ransum. Materi penelitian 100 ekor DOD itik Peking ditempatkan dalam 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Ransum yang digunakan satu bulan pertama ransum komersial, dan satu bulan terakhir ransum perlakuan: R1 = Ransum (kontrol), R2 = Ransum mengandung 4% tepung keong mas dan 0,5 ml probiotik, R3 = Ransum mengandung 6% tepung keong mas dan 0,5 ml probiotik, R4 = Ransum mengandung 8% tepung keong mas dan 0,5 ml probiotik, dan R5 = Ransum mengandung 10% tepung keong mas dan 0,5 ml probiotik. Variabel yang diamati: konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat badan, berat badan akhir, konversi ransum dan mortalitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Data dianalisis dengan ANOVA dilanjutkan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan tepung keong mas dan suplementasi probiotik 0,5 ml dalam ransum berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap performa itik Peking. Penggunaan tepung keong mas 8-10% dan suplementasi probiotik 0,5 ml dalam ransum secara signifikan (P0.05) meningkatkan berat badan akhir dan konversi ransum. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan tepung keong mas 8-10% dan suplementasi probiotik 0,5 ml dalam ransum mampu meningkatkan pertambahan bobot badan, dan menekan mortalitas itik Peking

Preliminaries of q-calculus for functions of two variables over finite rectangles in the plane are introduced. Some q-analogues of the famous Hermite–Hadamard inequality of functions of two variables defined on finite rectangles in the plane are presented. A q1q2-Hölder inequality for functions of two variables over finite rectangles is also established to provide some quantum estimates of trapezoidal type inequality of functions of two variables whose q1q2-partial derivatives in absolute value with certain powers satisfy the criteria of convexity on co-ordinates
