High frequency polarization switching of a thin ferroelectric film

We consider both experimentally and analytically the transient oscillatory process that arises when a rapid change in voltage is applied to a BaxSr1xTiO3Ba_xSr_{1-x}TiO_3 ferroelectric thin film deposited on an Mg0Mg0 substrate. High frequency (108rad/s\approx 10^{8} rad/s) polarization oscillations are observed in the ferroelectric sample. These can be understood using a simple field-polarization model. In particular we obtain analytic expressions for the oscillation frequency and the decay time of the polarization fluctuation in terms of the material parameters. These estimations agree well with the experimental results

In the article the authors examine the issues of legal interaction between Russia and the European Court of Human Rights on the basis of generalization of empirical results obtained during the sociological survey of groups of respondents of different professional backgrounds. The blocks of legislative and law enforcement problems that need to be resolved are highlighted. The conclusion is made about the need to transform and unify the existing Russian legislation and law enforcement practices, relying on the practice of the European Court of Human Rights and the practice of national courts. Legislative proposals and law enforcement recommendations are formulated based on the results of the study. This article deals with a method of obtaining materials in the Ti-Al system. Research was carried out in accordance with the phase diagram of the system state. It was established, that both single-phase and multiphase systems, containing finely dispersed intermetallic compositions of phases Ti3Al, TiAl and TiAl3, are formed. Additionally, it was found that the pure finely dispersed (coherent-scattering region (CSR) up to 100 nm) intermetallic compound TiAl3 is formed at molar ratio of Ti:Al = 1:3. Experimentally proved the possibility of produce the complex composition of alloys and intermetallic compounds and products based on them

The necessity and complexity of standardization

-The standards are one of the most important infrastructural elements of the economy. The relationship between all factors ensuring product quality and safety is carried out by using complex standardization. The standards establish and ensure the technically achievable level of safety, quality and competitiveness of products. The main factors of standardization object: the object composition, object production and monitoring, in their turn, form the following more precise groups of factors, determining the object quality: primary products and materials, component nodes and parts, production technology, equipment, tools and appliances, measurement means, and test methods. On the example of a specific standard, the "tree of references" of the first and second levels and the problems of an integrated approach for establishing quality requirements for a specific product is considered. The necessity and complexity of updating the requirements that ensure the systematization, optimization and coordination of all interacting factors influencing a specific object of standardization and providing an economically optimal level of quality of the object are demonstrated. © 2020, World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society. Background. Today, the critical care medicine is actively developing, and rapid progress is closely related to the achievements of molecular biology, immunology, and pathological physiology. The study of the role of individual molecular structures in the realization of the reactions of innate and adaptive immunity, which underlie the pathogenesis of critical conditions, is an urgent scientific direction and is of interest.Aims. To assess the contribution of the protein complex MRP-8/14 to thedevelopment of systemic inflammation by determining its plasma  concentration in patients with pneumonia with influenza A/H1N1.Materials and methods. 85 patients with pneumonia associated with influenza A/H1N1 were examined. Of these, 30 patients with severe pneumonia, 55 with non-severe pneumonia. The plasma concentration of the S100A8/A9 protein complex (MRP-8/14) was determined by flow cytometry on an analyzer (Beckman Coulter, USA).Results. It was found that in patients with severe pneumonia with influenza A/H1N1, the concentration of MRP-8/14 increased in 1.9 times compared  with healthy. At the same time, in patients with severe pneumonia with influenza A/H1N1 with a fatal outcome, the concentration of MRP-8/14 increased in 2.1 times.Conclusion. An increase in the level of MRP-8/14 in patients with severe pneumonia associated with influenza A/H1N1, on the one hand, reflects the severity of the course of systemic inflammation, on the other hand, the molecules MRP-8 and MRP-14, acting as damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) stimulate a pro-inflammatory response and contribute to the development of critical state. Thereby, the protein complex MRP-8/14 can be considered as a potential point of application of pharmacological action in the intensive care of critical conditions

Analysis of phenolic compounds in black walnut (Juglans nigra L.) fruit extract using high-performance liquid chromatography

Black walnut (Juglans nigra L.), which belongs to the Nut family (Juglandaceae), is a valuable raw material for the production of phytopreparations. The extract from the fruits of Juglans nigra L. has immunomodulating and antioxidant properties, which is primarily due to the presence of a large amount of phenolic compounds in the plant. But the phytochemical composition and pharmacological properties of Juglans nigra L. have not been sufficiently studied. The aim of our work was to study the optimal conditions for the extraction of Juglans nigra L. fruits, followed by the identification of its quantitative and qualitative composition. The main criterion for evaluating optimal extraction conditions was the quantitative content of phenolic compounds, which was determined spectrophotometrically by the Folin–Chocalteu method. The analysis of polyphenolic compounds was carried out by the method of high performance liquid chromatography. On the basis of experimental studies, the optimal conditions for extracting the fruits of Juglans nigra L. by maceration method conditions were selected. According to the results of the comparative analysis, it is shown that for the maximum extraction of phenolic compounds, it is advisable to use a 70% water-ethanol mixture as an extractant with a raw material to solvent ratio of 1:9. The method of high-performance liquid chromatography showed that the total content of phenolic compounds in the fruits of Juglans nigra L. is 2 327.09 μg/ml. Analysis of the extract of Juglans nigra L. by high-performance liquid chromatography method showed the presence of such phenolic compounds in plant material samples as catechins, catechin-like substances, flavonols (rutin, quercetin, myricetin), flavanones (naringin, naringenin) and phenolic acids. It should be noted, that the presence of such substances as chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, kaempferol, hesperidin, genistein and daidzein glycosides, luteolin and apigenin glycosides, luteolin and apigenin in the extract of Juglans nigra L. was not detected. A high content of compounds of polyphenolic nature in the fruits of Juglans nigra L. was established. Therefore, this medicinal plant material is promising for further research, in particular, for the development of medicines based on the extract with potential anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antioxidant activity
