Temporal Correlations of Local Network Losses

    Get PDF
We introduce a continuum model describing data losses in a single node of a packet-switched network (like the Internet) which preserves the discrete nature of the data loss process. {\em By construction}, the model has critical behavior with a sharp transition from exponentially small to finite losses with increasing data arrival rate. We show that such a model exhibits strong fluctuations in the loss rate at the critical point and non-Markovian power-law correlations in time, in spite of the Markovian character of the data arrival process. The continuum model allows for rather general incoming data packet distributions and can be naturally generalized to consider the buffer server idleness statistics

We show that the symmetrized bidisc may be exhausted by strongly linearly convex domains. It shows in particular the existence of a strongly linearly convex domain that cannot be exhausted by domains biholomorphic to convex ones.Comment: 6 page

Study of defectoscopy of partially biodegradable LDPE films

    Get PDF
Physical characteristics of the loaded new developed partially biodegradable LDPE polymeric films (containing sorbit, molasses and chitosan additives) with defects and without have been investigated experimentally by using the method of projection moiré. The first eigenmodes are analysed, graphical results of their investigation are presented. It was determined that the shape of the first vibrations eigenmode and the characteristics of vibrations have changed when the polymeric film had a tear defect. The results obtained could be applied for the determination of characteristics and qualities of new developed LDPE polymeric films

The paper presents the data of complex epidemiological analysis of infectious diseases from fecal-oral transmission. in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) from 2002 to 2011. We found increased levels of acute intestinal infections of unknown etiology, and. set against a background of reducing the incidence of dysentery. It was found that in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) the epidemiological situation is characterized by greater intensity in comparison with the Russian Federation. We identified area of risk for the incidence of acute intestinal infections and. dysentery in adult and. child population of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

Random Walks in Local Dynamics of Network Losses

    Get PDF
We suggest a model for data losses in a single node of a packet-switched network (like the Internet) which reduces to one-dimensional discrete random walks with unusual boundary conditions. The model shows critical behavior with an abrupt transition from exponentially small to finite losses as the data arrival rate increases. The critical point is characterized by strong fluctuations of the loss rate. Although we consider the packet arrival being a Markovian process, the loss rate exhibits non-Markovian power-law correlations in time at the critical point.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure

Regional aspects of sectoral digitalization : problems and prospects

    Get PDF
Purpose: At present, high and sometimes record indicators have been achieved for the individual branches of agricultural production. Further intensive development of agriculture is due to the search for new ways to increase labor productivity and lower production costs which is the main aim of this research. Design/Methodology/Approach: The methodological basis served as a systematic approach, which ensured comprehensiveness and purposefulness. Analytical, abstract-logical, economic-statistical, monographic and experimental research methods were also used in this work to examine problems and prospects of sectoral digitalization. Findings: The agro-industrial complex demonstrates the growth of production indicators and is on the rise. The target indicators, laid down in the Food Security Doctrine, have already been achieved by many indices. To a large extent, it is due to a significant increase in the agro-industrial complex. Practical implications: A proposed platform that would ensure a breakthrough in further technical modernization of production, can be created only if the technologies are improved based on their digitalization and orientation towards a specific consumer. Originality/Value: The pin-point introduction of digital technologies in agricultural production confirms the high efficiency of the full innovative technical modernization. The proposed digital transformation of management in the agro-industrial complex of Russia is the value of this research with its originality compared to other ideas.peer-reviewe

    GeneNet in 2005

    Get PDF
The GeneNet system is designed for collection and analysis of the data on gene and metabolic networks, signal transduction pathways and kinetic characteristics of elementary processes. In the past 2 years, the GeneNet structure was considerably improved: (i) the current version of the database is now implemented using ORACLE9i; (ii) the capacities to describe the structure of the protein complexes and the interactions between the units are increased; (iii) two tables with kinetic constants and more detailed descriptions of certain reactions were added; and (iv) a module for kinetic modeling was supplemented. The current SRS release of the GeneNet database contains 37 graphical maps of gene networks, as well as descriptions of 1766 proteins, 1006 genes, 241 small molecules and 3254 relationships between gene network units, and 552 kinetic constants. Information distributed between 16 interlinked tables was obtained by annotating 1980 journal publications. SRS release of the GeneNet database, the graphical viewer and the modeling section are available at http://wwwmgs.bionet.nsc.ru/mgs/gnw/genenet/

Detection of the surface defects in thin polymeric films using projection moiré

Experimental investigations of the polymeric films HDPE and PP and of the multi-layered material PET+LDPE with defects (puckered surfaces, holes and segregation of the upper layer) were performed. For this purpose, the method of projection moiré was used. In the process of investigations, the images of the defects were determined. During the experimental investigations it was determined that the images and shapes of the eigenmodes, as well as the frequencies and amplitudes of vibrations change due to mechanical or structural defects in the polymeric films and because of symmetrical or un-symmetrical loading. Typical optical images for various types of defects were determined. In the paper smoothness of fringes by using the method of time averaged geometric moiré is also investigated. On the basis of a one dimensional model graphical relationships for linear variation with respect to longitudinal coordinate of amplitude of vibrations are obtained. They provide the background for the choice of the required number of images in a period of oscillations for different smoothnesses of moiré fringes

Spin-Orbit Coupling and Time-Reversal Symmetry in Quantum Gates

We study the effect of spin-orbit coupling on quantum gates produced by pulsing the exchange interaction between two single electron quantum dots. Spin-orbit coupling enters as a small spin precession when electrons tunnel between dots. For adiabatic pulses the resulting gate is described by a unitary operator acting on the four-dimensional Hilbert space of two qubits. If the precession axis is fixed, time-symmetric pulsing constrains the set of possible gates to those which, when combined with single qubit rotations, can be used in a simple CNOT construction. Deviations from time-symmetric pulsing spoil this construction. The effect of time asymmetry is studied by numerically integrating the Schr\"odinger equation using parameters appropriate for GaAs quantum dots. Deviations of the implemented gate from the desired form are shown to be proportional to dimensionless measures of both spin-orbit coupling and time asymmetry of the pulse.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figure
