    Summarizing Videos with Attention

    In this work we propose a novel method for supervised, keyshots based video summarization by applying a conceptually simple and computationally efficient soft, self-attention mechanism. Current state of the art methods leverage bi-directional recurrent networks such as BiLSTM combined with attention. These networks are complex to implement and computationally demanding compared to fully connected networks. To that end we propose a simple, self-attention based network for video summarization which performs the entire sequence to sequence transformation in a single feed forward pass and single backward pass during training. Our method sets a new state of the art results on two benchmarks TvSum and SumMe, commonly used in this domain.Comment: Presented at ACCV2018 AIU2018 worksho

    Dentre os fatores que possuem maior influência na produtividade de trigo, a adubação nitrogenada destaca-se pela contribuição na expressão do potencial produtivo, além de representar um dos maiores custos com a cultura, necessitando ser manejada de forma eficiente e sustentável (Boschini, 2010). Devido a sua maior concentração nos tecidos vegetais e nos grãos, o nitrogênio (N) é o elemento mais demandado pela planta de trigo, e a adequada disponibilidade deste nutriente é fator determinante para potencializar o rendimento da cultura (De Bona et al., 2016)

    In Vitro Antiophidian Properties of Dipteryx alata Vogel Bark Extracts

    Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq)Extracts from Dipteryx alata bark obtained with different solvents (hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate and methanol) were mixed in vitro with Bothrops jararacussu (Bjssu, 40 mu g/mL) and Crotalus durissus terrificus (Cdt, 15 mu g/mL) snake venoms, and applied to a mouse phrenic nerve-diaphragm preparation to evaluate the possible neutralization of venom effects. Cdt venom neurotoxic effect was not inhibited by any of the extracts, while the neurotoxic and myotoxic actions of Bjssu venom were decreased by the methanolic extract. This inhibition appears to be augmented by tannins. Dichloromethane bark extract inhibited similar to 40% of Bjssu venom effects and delayed blockade induced by Cdt.     In vitro and in vivo safety evaluation of Dipteryx alata Vogel extract

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p><it>Dipteryx alata </it>Vogel popularly known as "baru" is an important commercial leguminous tree species from the Brazilian Cerrado, which possess medicinal properties, besides its fruits consumption by animals and humans. The use of the "naturally occurring plants" as herbal remedies and foods mainly from leaves, seeds, flowers and roots of plants or extracts require precautions before ensuring these are safe and efficacious. The objective of this study was to evaluate the safety of <it>D. alata </it>barks extract.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Vegetal drugs of <it>D. alata </it>barks were submitted to quality control assays and further to the safety assays under 1) <it>in vitro </it>parameter by <it>Salmonella </it>(Ames) mutagenicity, and 2) <it>in vivo </it>parameter on the pregnancy of rats.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>The extract was non-mutagenic to any of the assessed strains TA97a, TA98, TA100 and TA102 even after metabolic activation (+S9). All <it>in vivo </it>parameters (reproductive ability evaluation, physical development of rat offsprings, and neurobehavioral development assays) showed no changes related to control group.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p><it>D. alata </it>barks extract is neither mutagenic by the Ames test nor toxic in the pregnancy of rats, with no physical-neurobehavioral consequences on the rat offsprings development.</p

    Burden of Stroke in Europe:An Analysis of the Global Burden of Disease Study Findings From 2010 to 2019

    BACKGROUND:While most European Regions perform well in global comparisons, large discrepancies within stroke epidemiological parameters exist across Europe. The objective of this analysis was to evaluate the stroke burden across European regions and countries in 2019 and its difference to 2010.METHODS:The GBD 2019 analytical tools were used to evaluate regional and country-specific estimates of incidence, prevalence, deaths, and disability-adjusted life years of stroke for the European Region as defined by the World Health Organization, with its 53 member countries (EU-53) and for European Union as defined in 2019, with its 28 member countries (EU-28), between 2010 and 2019. Results were analyzed at a regional, subregional, and country level.RESULTS:In EU-53, the absolute number of incident and prevalent strokes increased by 2% (uncertainty interval [UI], 0%–4%), from 1 767 280 to 1 802 559 new cases, and by 4% (UI, 3%–5%) between 2010 and 2019, respectively. In EU-28, the absolute number of prevalent strokes and stroke-related deaths increased by 4% (UI, 2%–5%) and by 6% (UI, 1%–10%), respectively. All-stroke age-standardized mortality rates, however, decreased by 18% (UI, −22% to −14%), from 82 to 67 per 100 000 people in the EU-53, and by 15% (UI, −18% to −11%), from 49.3 to 42.0 per 100 000 people in EU-28. Despite most countries presenting reductions in age-adjusted incidence, prevalence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life year rates, these rates remained 1.4×, 1.2×, 1.6×, and 1.7× higher in EU-53 in comparison to the EU-28.CONCLUSIONS:EU-53 showed a 2% increase in incident strokes, while they remained stable in EU-28. Age-standardized rates were consistently lower for all-stroke burden parameters in EU-28 in comparison to EU-53, and huge discrepancies in incidence, prevalence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life-year rates were observed between individual countries.<br/

    RESUMO A indústria do futebol chega a movimentar em todo mundo, por ano, de acordo com Belo e Paolozzi (2013), um valor entre US400bilho~eseUS 400 bilhões e US 1 trilhão. Como atividade econômica, tem atraído a atenção de diversos estudos acadêmicos (DOBSON e GODDARD, 2001; SOUZA, 2004 e MADALOZZO, 2008). Entre os resultados obtidos nesses estudos, tem-se divergências com relação à variável preço nas equações de demanda por futebol. Dessa forma, este estudo objetiva identificar a relação entre preço e demanda por futebol. Foram utilizados dados secundários a partir do IBGE, da CBF e da Pluri Consultoria. A pesquisa faz uma análise a partir de 380 jogos do campeonato brasileiro. Para estimação da demanda utilizou-se o método de MQO. O modelo teve como variável dependente o público pagante presente nos estádios. Os resultados evidenciaram que a função demanda é não homogênea
