    Get PDF
The prevalence rate of multiple sclerosis (MS) in Volyn Region (101.0 per 100000) is the highest in Ukraine. To study MS risk factors in Volyn Region, special questionnaires were distributed among all MS patients residing in Volyn region. Results were obtained from 227 respondents including 154 women and 73 men of mean age 43±10.6 years. The control group included 105 healthy respondents inhabiting Volyn region. We found associated risk factors for MS to be: mother of Volyn origin, maternal age after 27 years old and paternal age after 29 years old at birth of respondent, subject\u27s born as a third child, brestfeeding for less than one year, living in the zone of industrial pollution, near mobile, TV- and radio re-translators, full traffic automobile roads, time spending outdoors less than one hour in winter and less than eight hours in summer, consumption of fruit and vegetables less than 5 times a week, of beef less than 3 times a week, poultry meet less than 3, berries less than 3, cereals less than 4 times a week, chronic stressful situations in life. Patients with MS more frequently reported AVRI, hepatitis and herpes simplex virus. Among patients with MS there were fewer respondents with history of chickenpox, rubella and DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus), BCG immunizations. Here, we introduced a novel study of MS risk factors within Volyn Region. The Registry established in 2012 is being constantly updated and can be a database for a long-term retrospective study involving a large number of patients

The SVM Classifier Based on the Modified Particle Swarm Optimization

The problem of development of the SVM classifier based on the modified particle swarm optimization has been considered. This algorithm carries out the simultaneous search of the kernel function type, values of the kernel function parameters and value of the regularization parameter for the SVM classifier. Such SVM classifier provides the high quality of data classification. The idea of particles' {\guillemotleft}regeneration{\guillemotright} is put on the basis of the modified particle swarm optimization algorithm. At the realization of this idea, some particles change their kernel function type to the one which corresponds to the particle with the best value of the classification accuracy. The offered particle swarm optimization algorithm allows reducing the time expenditures for development of the SVM classifier. The results of experimental studies confirm the efficiency of this algorithm.Comment: 9 page

Professional Evolution of School Teacher on Basis of Advanced Pedagogical Experience

    Get PDF
The review of the monographic study by M. S. Britkevich and M. G. Sergeeva “Andragogical support of innovative activity of teachers in the system of professional development” states that this scientific work should be evaluated taking into account the state order for the formation and development of innovative educational infrastructure and building a new strategy of effective activity in the field of secondary, higher and additional education. The need of a modern school for teachers who are able to integrate pedagogical innovations into professional practice (both individual and mass) indicates the need to create conditions for more effective support of innovative activity of teachers in the framework of professional development, as well as for their perception of certain rules of innovative behaviour and the creation of new varieties, algorithms and methods of systematization and popularization of advanced teaching experience. The study of the problems associated with the introduction of the relevant innovations in the educational process determines the main indicators and evaluation criteria of the reviewed work

A multi-site quad-band radio frequency interference monitoring alerting and reporting system

This paper reviews the motivation behind and development of a deployable Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) detection, alerting and reporting system which simultaneously monitors all Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) L-band signal transmission for disruption, captures interference events, characterizes them, notifies stakeholders of event occurrence and lastly marshals the captured data to cloud storage. Results of a multi-site international deployment program are presented and discussed. © 2020 German Institute of Navigation - DGON.Peer reviewe

Konus-Wind and Helicon-Coronas-F Observations of Solar Flares

Results of solar flare observations obtained in the Konus-Wind experiment from November, 1994 to December, 2013 and in the Helicon Coronas-F experiment during its operation from 2001 to 2005, are presented. For the periods indicated Konus-Wind detected in the trigger mode 834 solar flares, and Helicon-Coronas-F detected more than 300 solar flares. A description of the instruments and data processing techniques are given. As an example, the analysis of the spectral evolution of the flares SOL2012-11-08T02:19 (M 1.7) and SOL2002-03-10T01:34 (C5.1) is made with the Konus-Wind data and the flare SOL2003-10-26T06:11 (X1.2) is analyzed in the 2.223 MeV deuterium line with the Helicon-Coronas-F data.Comment: Published version. Topological energy barrier for skyrmion lattice formation in MnSi

We report the direct measurement of the topological skyrmion energy barrier through a hysteresis of the skyrmion lattice in the chiral magnet MnSi. Measurements were made using small-angle neutron scattering with a custom-built resistive coil to allow for high-precision minor hysteresis loops. The experimental data was analyzed using an adapted Preisach model to quantify the energy barrier for skyrmion formation and corroborated by the minimum-energy path analysis based on atomistic spin simulations. We reveal that the skyrmion lattice in MnSi forms from the conical phase progressively in small domains, each of which consisting of hundreds of skyrmions, and with an activation barrier of several eV.Comment: Final accepted versio
