Reconstruction of Bandlimited Functions from Unsigned Samples
We consider the recovery of real-valued bandlimited functions from the
absolute values of their samples, possibly spaced nonuniformly. We show that
such a reconstruction is always possible if the function is sampled at more
than twice its Nyquist rate, and may not necessarily be possible if the samples
are taken at less than twice the Nyquist rate. In the case of uniform samples,
we also describe an FFT-based algorithm to perform the reconstruction. We prove
that it converges exponentially rapidly in the number of samples used and
examine its numerical behavior on some test cases
Crystallization, data collection and data processing of maltose-binding protein (MalE) from the phytopathogen Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri
Maltose-binding protein is the periplasmic component of the ABC transporter
responsible for the uptake of maltose/maltodextrins. The Xanthomonas axonopodis
pv. citri maltose-binding protein MalE has been crystallized at 293 Kusing
the hanging-drop vapour-diffusion method. The crystal belonged to the
primitive hexagonal space group P6_122, with unit-cell parameters a = 123.59,
b = 123.59, c = 304.20 Å, and contained two molecules in the asymetric unit. It
diffracted to 2.24 Å resolution
Multiple plasmon resonances in naturally-occurring multiwall nanotubes: infrared spectra of chrysotile asbestos
Chrysotile asbestos is formed by densely packed bundles of multiwall hollow
nanotubes. Each wall in the nanotubes is a cylindrically wrapped layer of . We show by experiment and theory that the infrared spectrum
of chrysotile presents multiple plasmon resonances in the Si-O stretching
bands. These collective charge excitations are universal features of the
nanotubes that are obtained by cylindrically wrapping an anisotropic material.
The multiple plasmons can be observed if the width of the resonances is
sufficiently small as in chrysotile.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figures. Revtex4 compuscript. Misprint in Eq.(6) correcte
Prediction of strain localization during sheet metal forming using bifurcation analysis and Gurson- type damage - Complas XI
The strain localization phenomenon that may occur during sheet metal forming represents a major cause of defective parts produced in the industry. Several instability criteria have been developed in the literature to predict the occurrence of these instabilities. The proposed work aims to couple a Gurson-type model to the Rice’s localization criterion. The implementation of the modeling is achieved via a user subroutine (Umat) in Abaqus/std using a Runge-Kutta explicit integration scheme. Finally, we show the effectiveness of the
proposed coupling for the prediction of the formability of stretched metal sheets
Who You Gonna Call?: Creating a Call List for Your Facility\u27s Disaster Plan
Preservation can involve responding to active and pressing matters. But not all buildings are lost to the bulldozer. Many are lost to natural and human disasters like storms and water. A Disaster Plan is a common document used by museums and history organizations. Learn how to develop a contact list for a Disaster Response Plan so you know whom to call when disaster strikes
