Lupus eritematoso sistémico en un gato

    Get PDF

Temporal and spatial variations of the absolute reflectivity of Jupiter and Saturn from 0.38 to 1.7 μ\mum with PlanetCam-UPV/EHU

We provide measurements of the absolute reflectivity of Jupiter and Saturn along their central meridians in filters covering a wide range of visible and near-infrared wavelengths (from 0.38 to 1.7 μ\mum) that are not often presented in the literature. We also give measurements of the geometric albedo of both planets and discuss the limb-darkening behavior and temporal variability of their reflectivity values for a period of four years (2012-2016). This work is based on observations with the PlanetCam-UPV/EHU instrument at the 1.23 m and 2.2 m telescopes in Calar Alto Observatory (Spain). The instrument simultaneously observes in two channels: visible (VIS; 0.38-1.0 μ\mum) and short-wave infrared (SWIR; 1.0--1.7 μ\mum). We obtained high-resolution observations via the lucky-imaging method. We show that our calibration is consistent with previous independent determinations of reflectivity values of these planets and, for future reference, provide new data extended in the wavelength range and in the time. Our results have an uncertainty in absolute calibration of 10--20\%. We show that under the hypothesis of constant geometric albedo, we are able to detect absolute reflectivity changes related to planetary temporal evolution of about 5-10\%.Comment: 13 pages, 18 figures, (in press

Somatic embryo germination and plant regeneration of three grapevine cvs: Effect of IAA, GA3 and embryo morphology

    Get PDF
Plant regeneration was achieved using somatic embryos obtained from the Vitis vinifera cvs Sugraone, Crimson Seedless and Don Mariano. White somatic embryos, 1.5-3 mm in length, were cultured on embryo germination medium with or without IAA (10 μM) + GA3 (1 μM). Germinated embryos showed 5 different morphologies, (1) one cotyledon, (2) two cotyledons, (3) three cotyledons, (4) trumpet-like and (5) fused cotyledons before transfer to half strength MS medium to obtain plants. The conversion rate was higher when somatic embryos were germinated in culture medium with IAA and GA3. Embryo morphology also had an effect on plant regeneration, somatic embryos with developed cotyledons (one, two or three) showing a higher conversion rate (57.8-70.2 %) than those with abnormal or no cotyledons (36.2-36.3 %).

Host Range of Meloidogyne Arenaria (NEAL, 1889) Chitwood, 1949 (Nematoda: Meloidogynidae) in Spain

11 páginas, ilustraciones y tablas estadísticas. The distribution of Meloidogyne arenaria in Spain was revised and new samples collected from representative areas. Species and races of the populations were determined by morphometrics, differential host tests and SCAR-PCR. Meloidogyne arenaria was found most often in warm areas, but it can occur in Northern Spain in greenhouses. A total of 125 citations were found, corresponding to 45 different host plants, of which 41 new reports (32.8%) are from this study. The populations studied belong to race 2, which reproduces on tomato plants carrying the Mi gene, or race 3, which reproduces on both resistant pepper and tomato. The most frequent hosts were vegetables, fruit trees, tobacco, grapevine, and weeds.INIA OT- 03-006C7-4 and RTA2007-00099-C00-00; Castilla La Mancha PAI09-0010-4701, INCRECYT CICyT CTM2006-07309.Peer reviewe

High embryogenic ability and plant regeneration of table grapevine cultivars (Vitis vinifera L.) induced by activated charcoal

Somatic embryos and plants from immature anthers or ovaries were obtained from the Vitis vinifera cvs Sugraone, Crimson Seedless, Italia and Don Mariano. Explants were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (4, 7 or 10 μM) and 6-benzyladenine (0.7, 1 or 1.3 μM) for callus induction. Callus frequency depended on genotype, explant type and the culture medium used. Calli were transferred to half strength MS without growth regulators for embryo differentiation. The presence of activated charcoal (AC, 0.25 %) in this medium was essential to obtain somatic embryos in the case of Crimson Seedless, Italia and Don Mariano and to increase the frequency of embryogenic calli in Sugraone (from 5.8 % without AC to 99.5 % with AC). Ovaries and anthers showed different degrees of embryogenic competence. When somatic embryos were placed in a medium with indole-3-acetic acid (10 μM), gibberellic acid (1 μM) and 0.25 % AC, embryo germination was normal, i.e. embryos turned green, the hypocotyls and cotyledons started to grow and the apical root axis developed. The percentage of germinated embryos was 100 % for Sugraone and 27.5 %, 38.1 % and 54.5 % for Don Mariano, Italia and Crimson Seedless, respectively. When the germinated embryos were transferred to half strength MS medium in test tubes, 100 % of Crimson, Italia and Don Mariano and 68.3 % of Sugraone embryos developed into normal plants.

Vector magnetic hysteresis of hard superconductors

Critical state problems which incorporate more than one component for the magnetization vector of hard superconductors are investigated. The theory is based on the minimization of a cost functional C[H(x)]{\cal C}[\vec{H}(\vec{x})] which weighs the changes of the magnetic field vector within the sample. We show that Bean's simplest prescription of choosing the correct sign for the critical current density JcJ_c in one dimensional problems is just a particular case of finding the components of the vector Jc\vec{J}_c. Jc\vec{J}_c is determined by minimizing C{\cal C} under the constraint JΔ(H,x)\vec{J}\in\Delta (\vec{H},\vec{x}), with Δ\Delta a bounded set. Upon the selection of different sets Δ\Delta we discuss existing crossed field measurements and predict new observable features. It is shown that a complex behavior in the magnetization curves may be controlled by a single external parameter, i.e.: the maximum value of the applied magnetic field HmH_m.Comment: 10 pages, 9 figures, accepted in Phys.
