    Thorpe method applied to planetary boundary layer data

    Turbulence affects the dynamics of atmospheric processes by enhancing the transport of mass, heat, humidity and pollutants. The global objective of our work is to analyze some direct turbulent descriptors which reflect the mixing processes in the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL). In this paper we present results related to the Thorpe displacements dT , the maximum Thorpe displacement (dT )max and the Thorpe scale LT , the Ozmidov scale and their time evolution in the ABL during a day cycle. A tethered balloon was used to obtain vertical profiles of the atmospheric physical magnitudes up to 1000m. We discuss the vertical and horizontal variability and how different descriptors are related to atmospheric mixing

    DUDAS DE ENFERMERÍA EN EL MANEJO DE LA HISTORIA CLÍNICA. ASPECTOS JURÍDICOS

      As part of the changes produced within the nursing profession, the registration of the activities carried out proves to be necessary for the management of quality care, keeping in mind the legal aspect and development of nursing training. According to Spanish Act 41/2002, clinical history is the array of documents related to the care process of every patient, including the identification of doctors and health professionals that have intervened in the care. Its objective is to facilitate sanitary care, paying attention to aspects such as training and research, evaluation of the quality of care, administration and medical-legal.   The Spanish Act 41/2002 determines which documents are obligatory and should be present in the clinical history. Among these are the care planning sheets, the records of therapeutic work and vital signs. All these should be present in each one of the moments along with the correspondent identification of the people carrying out the action, as these imply legal responsibility, as long as law compliance is guaranteed. Therefore, nursing must understand and fulfill the regulation regarding the use of clinical history.   Nursing records are the documental tool where all the information of nursing activity is collected regarding a specific patient, assessment, received treatment, and progression. Nursing records are an essential part of the clinical history and therefore, have similar functions; the main one being treatment, focused on providing maximum quality care, as well as the researcher-trainer, management and contribution to the development of our profession. Other objectives are legal because the records are the documented testimony of the professional actions upon the Court requirements.  Dentro de los cambios producidos en la profesión enfermera, el registro de las actividades realizadas se revela como imprescindible para administrar unos cuidados de calidad, sin olvidar el punto de vista legal y el desarrollo de la formación en Enfermería. Según la Ley 41/2002, la Historia Clínica comprende el conjunto de documentos relativos a los procesos asistenciales de cada paciente, con la identificación de los médicos y los profesionales sanitarios que han intervenido en ellos, y tiene como fin principal facilitar la asistencia sanitaria, sin obviar aspectos como la docencia e investigación, la evaluación calidad asistencial, la administrativa y la médico-legal.La Ley 41/2002 determina los documentos obligatorios que deben estar presentes en la Historia clínica. Entre ellos se encuentran las hojas de planificación de los cuidados, el registro de las aplicaciones terapéuticas y el registro de las constantes. Todos ellos deben estar presentes en cada uno de los episodios con la correspondiente identificación de la persona que lo realiza, pues implica responsabilidad jurídica, en tanto en cuanto hay que garantizar el cumplimiento de la ley. Por ello enfermería debe conocer y cumplir lo legislado respecto al uso de la Historia clínica.Los registros de enfermería son el soporte documental donde queda recogida toda la información sobre la actividad enfermera referente a una persona concreta, valoración, tratamiento recibido y su evolución. Los Registros de Enfermería son parte fundamental de la Historia Clínica y como tal tienen funciones similares; la principal sería la asistencial, enfocada a prestar unos cuidados de la máxima calidad, sin olvidar la docente-investigadora, de gestión y la contribución al desarrollo de nuestraprofesión. Otras de sus finalidades es la jurídico-legal, pues los registros constituyen el testimonio documental de los actos del profesional a requerimiento de los tribunale

    La investigación sobre fármacos antipsicóticos atípicos en España: una evaluación bibliométrica

    Objectives: We carried out a bibliometric study on the scientific publications in relation to atypical antipsychotic drugs (AADs) in Spain. Methods: We used the EMBASE and MEDLINE databases and we applied some bibliometric indicators of paper production and dispersion (Price’s law and Bradford’s law, respectively). We also calculated the participation index of the different countries and correlated the bibliometric data with some social and health data (total per capita expenditure on health and gross domestic expenditure on research and development). Results: We collected 656 original papers published between 1988 and 2011. Our study results fulfilled Price’s law with scientific production on AADs showing exponential growth (correlation coefficient r = 0.9693, vs. r = 0.9177 after linear adjustment). The most widely studied drugs were risperidone (181 papers), olanzapine (143), clozapine (94), and quetiapine (74). Division into Bradford zones yielded a nucleus occupied by the European Psychiatry and European Neuropsychopharmacology (70 articles). Totally 194 different journals were published, with 5 of the first 10 used journals having an impact factor being greater than 4. Conclusion: The publications on AADs in Spain have undergone exponential growth over the studied period, without evidence of reaching a saturation point

    Preparation, characterization and catalytic behavior for propanepartial oxidation of Ga-promoted MoVTeO catalysts

    [EN] Two sets of Ga-promoted MoVTeO catalysts were synthesized hydrothermally and heat-treated at 600 degrees C in N-2: (i) materials prepared from gels with Mo/V/Te/Ga atomic ratios of 1/0.60/0.17/x (x=0-0.12) (A-series) and (ii) materials prepared from gels with Mo/V/Te/Ga atomic ratios of 1/0.60-x/0.17/x (x=0.15 or 0.25) (B-series). In addition, a Ga-containing MoVTeO catalyst was also prepared from M1-containing MoVTeO material by impregnation with aqueous solution of gallium and heat-treated at 450 degrees C in N-2. Catalysts were characterized by means of powder XRD, TEM, Raman spectroscopy, NH3-TPD and XPS and tested in the partial oxidation of propane. The results showed that the addition of small amount of gallium significantly increase the selectivity to acrylic acid (AA) at low propane conversion. However, at high propane conversion, the selectivity to AA strongly depends on both the catalyst composition and the gallium incorporation method. The higher selectivity to acrylic acid over Ga-containing MoVTeO catalysts has been related to: (i) structural changes in the M1 phase by the incorporation of Ga3+ into the octahedral structural framework and/or (ii) incorporation of Ga3+ species on the catalyst surface thus modifying catalysts acid properties.     Chemical, Structural, and Morphological Changes of a MoVTeNb Catalyst during Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Ethane

    MoVTeNb mixed oxide, a highly active and selective catalyst for the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to produce ethylene, exhibits the so-called M1 and M2 crystalline phases. The thermal stability of the MoVTeNb catalytic system was assessed under varying reaction conditions; to this end, the catalyst was exposed to several reaction temperatures spanning from 440 to 550 °C. Both the pristine and spent materials were analyzed by several characterization techniques. The catalyst was stable below 500 °C; a reaction temperature of ≥500 °C brings about the removal of tellurium from the intercalated framework channels of the M1 crystalline phase. Rietveld refinement of X-ray diffraction patterns and microscopy results showed that the tellurium loss causes the progressive partial destruction of the M1 phase, thus decreasing the number of active sites and forming a MoO2 crystalline phase, which is inactive for this reaction. Raman spectroscopy confirmed the MoO2 phase development as a function of reaction temperature. From highresolution transmission electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy analyses it was noticed that tellurium departure occurs preferentially from the end sides of the needlelike M1 crystals, across the [001] plane. Detailed analysis of a solid deposited at the reactor outlet showrf that it consisted mainly of metallic tellurium, suggesting that the tellurium detachment occurs via reduction of Te4+ to Te0 due to a combination of reaction temperature and feed composition.     Catalytic abatement of trichloroethylene over Mo and/or W-based bronzes

    [EN] In this paper we present the results of the synthesis, characterization and catalytic behaviour of Mo(W)¿Nb¿V¿O mixed metal oxides bronzes for the catalytic oxidation of trichloroethylene. The catalysts were prepared hydrothermally with different Mo/W/Nb/V/P atomic ratio and heat-treated at 500 and 700 °C. They were characterized by several techniques as N2-adsorption, X-ray diffraction, FTIR, SEM-EDS, temperature programmed desorption, temperature programmed reduction, UV¿vis, Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy of adsorbed pyridine and 18O/16O isotope exchange. X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD) of samples heat-treated at 500 °C suggest the presence of a semi-crystalline material with a diffraction peak at ca. 2¿ = 22.2°, while XRD patterns of samples heat-treated at 700 °C show the formation of a tetragonal tungsten bronze (TTB) structure. The activity for the catalytic abatement of trichloroethylene strongly depends on the heat-treatment temperature and the catalyst composition. Thus, samples with W/(Mo + W) atomic ratios of 0.25-0.75 and heat-treated at 500 °C are the most active ones. The enhanced activity has been related to the remarkable higher surface area of the catalyst and to the catalyst composition which influences the acid characteristics as well as the reducibility and reoxidation of the catalysts.     A search for spectral hysteresis and energy-dependent time lags from X-ray and TeV gamma-ray observations of Mrk 421

    Blazars are variable emitters across all wavelengths over a wide range of timescales, from months down to minutes. It is therefore essential to observe blazars simultaneously at different wavelengths, especially in the X-ray and gamma-ray bands, where the broadband spectral energy distributions usually peak. In this work, we report on three "target-of-opportunity" (ToO) observations of Mrk 421, one of the brightest TeV blazars, triggered by a strong flaring event at TeV energies in 2014. These observations feature long, continuous, and simultaneous exposures with XMM-Newton (covering X-ray and optical/ultraviolet bands) and VERITAS (covering TeV gamma-ray band), along with contemporaneous observations from other gamma-ray facilities (MAGIC and Fermi-LAT) and a number of radio and optical facilities. Although neither rapid flares nor significant X-ray/TeV correlation are detected, these observations reveal subtle changes in the X-ray spectrum of the source over the course of a few days. We search the simultaneous X-ray and TeV data for spectral hysteresis patterns and time delays, which could provide insight into the emission mechanisms and the source properties (e.g. the radius of the emitting region, the strength of the magnetic field, and related timescales). The observed broadband spectra are consistent with a one-zone synchrotron self-Compton model. We find that the power spectral density distribution at 4×104\gtrsim 4\times 10^{-4} Hz from the X-ray data can be described by a power-law model with an index value between 1.2 and 1.8, and do not find evidence for a steepening of the power spectral index (often associated with a characteristic length scale) compared to the previously reported values at lower frequencies.Comment: 45 pages, 15 figure
