On the basis of the material collected from 1981-1995 in Pilica F orest and analysis of published data 76 species of Cerambycidae were recorded. Twenty nine of them have for the first time been recorded from the mentioned area.Zadanie pt. „Digitalizacja i udostępnienie w Cyfrowym Repozytorium Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego kolekcji czasopism naukowych wydawanych przez Uniwersytet Łódzki” nr 885/P-DUN/2014 dofinansowane zostało ze środków MNiSW w ramach działalności upowszechniającej naukę

Synthesis of the Fijiolides Dihydropentalene Core and Amino Acid

In this thesis, a stereoselective access to the benzodihydropentalene core structure 79 and the amino acid fragment 81 of the fijiolides was developed. For benzodihydropentalene 79 the synthetic strategy relied on introduction of a styryl moiety onto indenone 84 allowing construction of ring C via ring closing metathesis. Essential for this strategy was the early introduction of the alcohol at C9, that enabled the cis-arrangement of the previously installed allyl and the styryl moiety. Although the fijiolides` core does not contain a stereocenter at C1, enantioselective introduction of the styryl residue in this position allowed to build up the cyclopentadienol in a stereocontrolled fashion with a high degree of substrate control

The text is a minor appendix to the book The Church o f Our Lady o f Sorrows in Poznań (Poznań 2013) compiled by the two authors of the present study. The new data is a fragment of the design documentation of this church, unknown to the authors of the monographic publication at the time of writing, and discovered by Andrzej Kusztelski during his research in St. Martin’s church in Poznań. It is a design of the church’s façade signed by the builder Maksymilian Wilczewski. It is the only extinct design of this building (ultimately changed in the course of realization)

Evaluation of different types of lymphocyte subpopulations in the peripheral blood has unknown and controversial significance in diagnosis of infertility. The aim of the study was to evaluate selected blood lymphocytes in patients treated with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).MATERIALS AND METHODSwomen were divided into three groups: (1) control fertile group (n=18), (2) infertile women that achieved (n=32), and (3) did not achieve a pregnancy after ICSI (n=26). The following types of leukocytes were analyzed by three-colour flow cytometry by detection of specific CD antigens: lymphocytes T (CD3+), B (CD19+ and CD5+CD19+), T and B (CD5+), NK cells (CD56+CD16-, CD56-CD16+, CD56+CD16+, CD56brightCD16-, CD56dimCD16+). Additionally, the antigen of early activation (CD69) was evaluated on T, B and NK cells. The results were presented as a percentage and total counts of all lymphocytes.RESULTSThe percentage of total NK cells (CD56+CD16+, CD56+CD16- and CD56-CD16+) did not differ between pregnant and non pregnant women and was lower comparing to control group. Fractions of CD56-CD16+ cells were higher in pregnant vs. non-pregnant women. The percentages of CD56brightCD16- NK cells were higher in control group comparing to both ICSI treated groups. Other fractions of lymphocyte subpopulations, including activated cells (with CD69 expression) did not differ between the analyzed groups. Total counts of CD56-CD16+ cells were higher in pregnant vs. non-pregnant group, and the CD56brightCD16- cells was more abundant in control group vs. women with unsuccessful ICSI.CONCLUSIONSTesting of peripheral blood NK cells and the others lymphocytes has limited value as a prognostic factor in ICSI treated patients. The antigen of early lymphocytic activation (CD69) has not any predictive value in prognosis of ICSI outcome

New data on the distribution, biology and morphology of Asemum tenuicorne Kraatz, 1879 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae), with new records from Poland

    Get PDF
We report the discovery of the pyrophilous species, Asemum tenuicorne (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in the Białowieża Primeval Forest (NE Poland) in 2009 and 2016. This species was previously known only from Southern Europe and one locality detached from the main range on the island of Gotska Sandön in Southern Sweden. Information on its northern spread and current distribution is summarized and critically analyzed and new data on its biology are provided. The morphology of A. tenuicorne adults was studied using 46 specimens from different localities and compared with 63 specimens of the widely distributed Asemum striatum. Differences between the two species are presented and illustrated using external features, morphometric measurements, shape of the male copulatory organs and wing venation
