    Internationalisation of higher education based on lean management principles: case study of Jagiellonian University

    The paper deals with the phenomenon of lean management in higher education analysed within the context of internationalisation process in Polish higher education as a means of ensuring inclusive global higher education space. Lean management is looked upon as one of the 21st century models of university management transplanted from the sphere of private enterprises and business companies’ management. The empirical analysis has been conducted with the use of statistical data provided by the official website of Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Republic of Poland. The data have been collected in accordance with the following internationalisation process indicators: amount of bilateral Memoranda of Understanding; Inbound Mobility: number of foreign students who have completed the full cycle bachelor's / master's degree; Inbound Mobility: number of foreign students who have completed the full cycle PhD’s degree; Inbound Mobility: participation in Quin Jadwiga Fund granting schemes; Inbound Mobility: participation in Erasmus / Erasmus+ Programme; Outbound Mobility: participation in Erasmus / Erasmus+ Programme; number of outbound mobile students in accordance with bilateral agreements; number of inbound mobile students in accordance with bilateral agreements; number of outbound mobile staff in accordance with bilateral agreements; number of inbound mobile staff in accordance with bilateral agreements. The collected data have shown gradual increase of internationalisation process indicators and allowed concluding that the introduction and support of lean management principles in higher education promotes the intensification of the internationalisation process

    Non-financial reporting of companies and the necessity of its confirmation by auditors in Ukraine

    The relevance of the study is caused by the fact that the non-financial reporting of business entities and the intensification of process of globalization are becoming nowadays an important source of information for making managerial decisions by different groups of stakeholders. The process of its implementation, definition of types, forms and content remains legally unregulated for Ukraine. A process of its audit requires a systemic solution and an appropriate independent audit opinion.The purpose of the article is to summarize the European and international experience in the field of regulation of drawing up and publication of non-financial reporting, to work out problems of its content definition and to provide proposals for the regulation of these issues in Ukraine, to define the recommended groups of indicators, and to ground the main directions and tasks of their audit.It is proposed to create a general concept for the implementation and development of non-financial reporting in Ukraine, which may require the adoption of the future Law of Ukraine β€œOn Public Non-Financial Reporting”, national standards for its preparation, and relevant methodological recommendations for their implementation. The directions of development of theoretical, organizational and methodical issues of audit of non-financial reporting are provided.A number of valid normative acts of the Audit Chamber of Ukraine in terms of the regulation of audit of non-financial reporting and improvement of professional qualifications of specialists require clarification and accompaniments

    Peculiarities of using information technologies through the prism of the principles of civil proceedings

    The aim of the study is to reveal the features of the use of information technology in civil proceedings in terms of compliance with its basic principles, because the digitalization of judiciary through the implementation of modern IT technologies in Ukraine is one of the most effective ways to improve the level and quality of administration, of justice, fulfillment of its tasks. Fair, impartial and timely consideration and resolution of civil cases is impossible without adherence to its principles, which are key guidelines in the formation of procedural law. The study was conducted using general and special methods of scientific knowledge: comparative, historical and legal, formal-logical, dialectical, system-structural. After analyzing current and future legislation, doctrinal approaches, best practices of foreign countries, the authors revealed the benefits of implementing information technology in civil proceedings and their impact on the realization of such principles as: rule of law, equality of all participants before the law and court, publicity and openness of the trial, reasonable time for consideration of the case by court, adversarial parties. On the basis of the conducted research generalizations and conclusions regarding the state and prospects of application of information technologies in civil proceedings through a prism of its principles are made
