A Rare Renal Epithelial Tumor: Mucinous Cystadenocarcinoma Case Report and Review of the Literature

Primary renal mucinous cystadenocarcinoma is a very rare lesion of kidney which originates from the metaplasia of the renal pelvic uroepithelium. Only one case with primary mucinous cystadenocarcinoma has been reported in the English literature. We report second case of mucinous cystadenocarcinoma which was radiologically classified as type-IIF Bosniak cyst in peripheral localization. We aimed to present this extreme and unusual entity with its radiological, surgical, and pathologic aspects under the light of literature

Kumaşların haslık değerlerinin ise 4 ve 5 aralığında değişen değerlerde seyrettiği gözlenmiştirIn this study, it was aimed to gain printing effect on cellulose based fabrics without using dye in printing paste. Samples having different fabric weights and patterns were colored with reactive dyes by pad-batch method after they had been printed with paste containing sodium hydroxide instead of dye. Color efficiency of each printed sample was detected under different light sources and their fastness values were investigated. By this suggested method, it could be possible to gain printing effect to different fabrics. However printing accuracy was strongly related with color and fabric weight. On the other hand, fastness properties of all printed samples were generally observed in the range of 4 and 5 grades

Rectovesical Fistula Related to Transurethral Resection of a Bladder Lesion

A rectovesical fistula (RVF) is an uncommon complication of urooncologic surgery. Although several RVFs have been reported, our case is the first reported RVF in the literature that iatrogenically occurred after transurethral resection of the bladder. A single-stage primary repair with omental flap interposition without a colostomy was successfully performed because of the persistence of the fistula during followup. After 6 months of followup, no fistula or bladder mass was detected

WOS: 000356981000004PubMed: 23456816Background: Corrosive esophageal injury causes serious clinical problems. We aimed to create a new experimental esophageal burn model using a single catheter without a surgical procedure. Materials and methods: We conducted the study with two groups of 12 male rats that fasted for 12 h before application. A modified Foley balloon catheter was inserted into the esophageal lumen. the control group was given 0.9% sodium chloride, while the experimental group was given 37.5% sodium hydroxide with the other part of the catheter. After 60s, esophagus was washed with distilled water. the killed rats were examined using histopathological methods after 28 days. Results: in comparison with the histopathological changes experienced by the study groups, the control groups were observed to have no pathological changes. Basal cell degeneration, dermal edema, and a slight increase in the keratin layer and collagen density of submucosa due to stenosis were all observed in the group subjected to esophageal corrosion. Conclusion: A new burn model can thus, we believe, be created without the involvement of invasive laparoscopic surgery and general anesthesia. the burn in our experiment was formed in both the distal and proximal esophagus, as in other models; it can also be formed optionally in the entire esophagus

Predictors of Postoperative Pancreatic Fistula (POPF) After Pancreaticoduodenectomy: Clinical Significance of the Mean Platelet Volume (MPV)/Platelet Count Ratio as a New Predictor

Purpose In this study, it was aimed to determine the predictors of clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula (CR-POPF) following pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and clinical significance of mean platelet volume (MPV)/total platelet count ratio (MPR) as a new predictor for CR-POPF
