Dispersal and larval hosts of the zigzag sawfly Aproceros leucopoda (Hymenoptera) in Slovakia, Central Europe

Background and purposeThe zigzag elm sawfly, Aproceros leucopoda (Hymenoptera), originating from Asia is being considered as one of the major pests of elm trees (Ulmus spp.) within Europe where it was first recorded in 2003. Recent investigations document the fast spread of this invasive species in many European countries. In Slovakia, A. leucopoda was first recorded in 2009 but its occurrence here has not been reported since 2009. Herein, we summarize the data from the two consecutive years about the current distribution of A. leucopoda and its hosts in Slovakia, Central Europe, focusing on infestation of elm trees by this successful invader in different altitudes.Material and methodsIn 2014 and 2015 the investigations of A. leucopoda were conducted at 101 different plots across the country. At each plot, characteristic symptoms of leaf damage, occurrence of larvae, cocoons or adults were recorded along with the geographical coordinates and the altitude, and the host trees of A. leucopoda were identified at the species level. The distribution map of A. leucopoda was drawn using the field data. The infestation of elm trees along the altitudinal gradient was analyzed with Kruskal-Wallis non-parametric analysis of variance followed by post-hoc Dunn\u27s test for multiple comparisons.Results and conclusionsThe zigzag elm sawfly A. leucopoda was observed at 31 plots (30.7%, n = 101). In elm trees examined, generally, a low level of infestation by this pest was observed. A. leucopoda was found at plots between 107 and 701 m a.s.l. The result show that the infestation level of elm trees was decreasing with increasing altitude. Although we had only a small sample of data, we assume that the altitude has a significant effect on distribution of this pest. The field elm (Ulmus minor Mill.) was the most frequently utilized host. Data collected document the establishment of this successful invader in Slovakia.</p

Concept is justified by three steps, through analysis of the beginnings of Hume's philosophy, explication of his "science of man" idea in Treatise and illustration of this idea in action, as appears in analysis of passions (Book 2). The beginnings of Hume's way to experimental philosophical anthropology are explained thorough interpretation of historical facts connected with his early study at College of Edinburgh. First meetings with culture of science ( both British Christian tradition of experimental philosophy and Newtonian mathematical philosophy) are considered as particularly important. Detailed analysis of pre-Treatise letters (the Letter to Physician and to Michael Ramsey) is provided to make explicit the beginnings of his "science of man" idea, turn to study of human nature. Optimal microclimate forming in cowshed

Baigiamasis darbas atliktas Lietuvos žemės ūkio universitete, 2010 metais. Magistrantūros darbo tikslas - nustatyti vakuuminio siurblio paduodamo šilto oro poveikį melžimo aikštelės mikroklimatui. Atlikus informacijos šaltinių apžvalgą yra aptarti veiksniai įtakojantys tvarto mikroklimatą. Įvertinti tvarto mikroklimato veiksniai, jų poveikis gyvulių laikymui tvartuose ir melžimo patalpose. Atlikus eksperimentinius tyrimus nustatėme, kad panaudojant vakuuminio siurblio vamzdžiais paduodamą šiltą orą, galima pakelti temperatūrą melžyklos patalpose šaltuoju metų laiku. Nuvedus vakuumo siurblio išmetamą šiltą orą į melžimo aikštelę, patalpos temperatūra pakyla 4 °C. Atlikus tyrimus nustatėme, kad išpučiamo oro temperatūra į lauką per 2 metrų vamzdį sušyla iki 63oC, o į melžimo aikštelės duobę, pučiamo šilto oro temperatūra per 18 metrų vamzdį atvėsta 16,7oC ir siekia 46,3 °C. Apibendrinus skaičiavimo rezultatus gauname, kad melžimo laikotarpiu vakuumo siurblio našumas siekia 322, 2 kJ ir temperatūra melžimo patalpoje pakyla iki 17ºC. Vakuumo siurbliai gali būti panaudojami apšiltinti melžimo patalpas žiemos metu.Final work was accomplished at Lithuanian University of Agriculture in 2010. The aim of this Master degree‘s final work is to set warm air influence of vacuume-cleaner in cowsheds and influence of it for microclimate of cowsheds. Following the review source of information the analysis assessed factors which influence cowsheds microclimate. The analysis of microclimate in the farm was implemented, influence of microclimate to livestock holding in milk-house and farm. Following the experimental studies found temperature in cow-house using warm air of vacuum-cleaner to get a optimum temperature in cowshed in winter. We took vacuum-cleaner warm air to cowshed, we have got that temperature rises 4 °C. Following experiment showed that temperature of filled warm air out through 2 metres tube get warm till 63oC, in milk-house ground hole, where warm air is pumped by 18 metres tube, get blunt till 16,7oC and reaches 46,3 °C. The summarize results of the calculation we get that during milking time vacuum-cleaner efficiency reach 322,2 kJ and temperature rise till in 17ºC . Dataset on records of Hericium erinaceus in Slovakia

The data presented in this article are related to the research article entitled “Habitat preferences of Hericium erinaceus in Slovakia” (Kunca and Čiliak, 2016) [FUNECO607] [2]. The dataset include all available and unpublished data from Slovakia, besides the records from the same tree or stem. We compiled a database of records of collections by processing data from herbaria, personal records and communication with mycological activists. Data on altitude, tree species, host tree vital status, host tree position and intensity of management of forest stands were evaluated in this study. All surveys were based on basidioma occurrence and some result from targeted searches
