The conditions of thermodynamic equilibrium, local thermodynamic equilibrium, and statistical equilibrium are discussed in detail. The equations of statistical equilibrium and the supplementary equations are shown together with the expressions for radiative and collisional rates with the emphasize on the solution for trace elements.Comment: presented at the workshop held in Nice, France, 30.7.-4.8.2007, to appear in Non-LTE Line Formation for Trace Elements in Stellar Atmospheres, R. Radiative transfer in moving media II. Solution of the radiative transfer equation in axial symmetry

A new method for the formal solution of the 2D radiative transfer equation in axial symmetry in the presence of arbitrary velocity fields is presented. The combination of long and short characteristics methods is used to solve the radiative transfer equation. We include the velocity field in detail using the Local Lorentz Transformation. This allows us to obtain a significantly better description of the photospheric region, where the gradient of the global velocity is too small for the Sobolev approximation to be valid. Sample test calculations for the case of a stellar wind and a rotating atmosphere are presented.Comment: 11 pages, 19 figures. accepted by Astronomy and Astrophysic

Závěr diplomové práce je zaměřen na celkové hodnocení navrhovaných postupů, které by měly zlepšit výkonnost ZTC Holding, SE.This master thesis analyses the current situation in the company on the field of project management in handling of a solar power station construction. On the basis of standards and project management methodologies, specific steps will be proposed to improve the current situation in project management of the company. The thesis is divided into two main parts – theoretical and practical. The first part describes the company ZTC Holding, SE and deals with the theoretical bases of project management, where management and its functions, project management, project description, description of activities of the project manager and his team are defined. In this section, the theory of temporal analysis of the project, including methods of Critical Path Method (CPM) and Gantt diagrams are included as well. The second section applies an analysis of the external environment by PESTLE analysis and SWOT analysis and analysis of the internal environment 7S. This part also discusses exact definition of the project, project objectives defined by SMART methodology, and points out specific risks that may occur during the project. The conclusion of this master thesis is devoted to an overall evaluation of proposed processes, which should improve performance of ZTC Holding, SE.

Předmětem této diplomové práce bylo seznámit se se soutěží autonomních outdoor robotů Robotour a dále prostudovat možnosti a informace o robotovi vyvíjeném na ÚITS FIT VUT v Brně. Další část práce představovala studii různých plánovacích a lokalizačních algoritmů a návrh funkčního řešení, které by umožnilo robotovi účast v soutěži. The objective of this master's thesis was to get acquainted with an autonomous outdoor robot competition - The Robotour and further to study the capabilities and information about a robot designed on the DITS FIT Brno VUT. Next part of the project was to study various planning and localization algorithms and to make a proposal of a functional solution, allowing the robot to participate in the competition. To be specific, the goal of this work was to use the acquired knowledge for implementation of an antonomous software so the robot can start in the year 2010 race. The solution also included several related mechanical modifications. The final solution fulfills all the competiton rules and is capable of taking part in this year's plant.

X-ray photoionized bubble in the wind of Vela X-1 pulsar supergiant companion

Vela X-1 is the archetype of high-mass X-ray binaries, composed of a neutron star and a massive B supergiant. The supergiant is a source of a strong radiatively-driven stellar wind. The neutron star sweeps up this wind, and creates a huge amount of X-rays as a result of energy release during the process of wind accretion. Here we provide detailed NLTE models of the Vela X-1 envelope. We study how the X-rays photoionize the wind and destroy the ions responsible for the wind acceleration. The resulting decrease of the radiative force explains the observed reduction of the wind terminal velocity in a direction to the neutron star. The X-rays create a distinct photoionized region around the neutron star filled with a stagnating flow. The existence of such photoionized bubbles is a general property of high-mass X-ray binaries. We unveiled a new principle governing these complex objects, according to which there is an upper limit to the X-ray luminosity the compact star can have without suspending the wind due to inefficient line drivingComment: accepted for publication in ApJ, 6 pages, 4 figure

The Party System in Central Europe after 20 Years (Standard or Exceptional?)

This article is a brief consideration of the state of the party system in Central Europe, in the sense of its position in wider theoretical and comparative contexts of democracy as such and within Western European models. Does Central Europe differ from Western Europe? Is Central European democracy, including the political party system, qualitatively different from Western European democracy? This text fi rst examines the issue of the consolidation of democracy in Central Europe, then explores the relationships between the consolidation of democracy and the political party system in the region and fi nally tries to fi nd an answer to the question of the standard or exceptional nature of Central European democracy and the Central European political party system in relation to Western Europe. The result of this examination is the fi nding of an absence of qualitative difference between Central and Western Europe in terms of the aspects referred to above
