On the basis of diplomatic documents, the paper reconstructs a detailed picture of the expulsion from the German market during 1933 of the Soviet firms “Derop” and “Derunaft”, suppliers of oil products. The document of Soviet intelligence shows that a big Dutch-British oil magnate, Sir H. Deterding, can be considered one of the inspirers of this process; he hoped, among other things, to seize control of the Caucasian oil fields in the course of the alleged "crusade" against the USSR.Sobre la base de documentos diplomáticos, el artículo reconstruye un cuadro detallado de la expulsión del mercado alemán durante 1933 de las empresas soviéticas "Derop" y "Derunaft", proveedoras de productos petrolíferos. Los materiales de la inteligencia soviética muestran que uno de los inspiradores de este proceso puede ser considerado el gran magnate petrolero holandés-británico Sir H. Deterding, quien, en el curso de la supuesta "cruzada" contra la URSS, esperaba, entre otras cosas, tomar el control de los campos petroleros del Cáucaso

Pseudo-elementary generalized triangle groups

A generalized triangle group is a group that can be presented in the form Gamma = [x, y\x(l) = y(m) = w(x, y)(n) = 1] where l, m, n is an element of {2,3,4....} boolean OR {infinity} and w(x, y) is an element of the free product [x, y\ x(l) = y(m) = 1] involving both x and y. A homomorphism phi : Gamma --> G is said to be essential if phi(x), phi(y), phi(w(x, y)) have orders l, m, n respectively. Every generalized triangle group Gamma admits an essential representation to PSL(2, C). In most cases there will be such a representation with infinite or non-elementary image. Vinberg and Kaplinsky say that Gamma is pseudo-finite if the image of any essential representation Gamma --> PSL(2, C) is finite and they have obtained a partial classification of such groups. Extending this concept, we call F pseudo-elementary if the image of any essential representation Gamma --> PSL(2, C) is elementary. In this paper we classify the pseudo-elementary generalized triangle groups F with n >= 3 and obtain partial results in the case n = 2

Turbulent mixing induced by Richtmyer-Meshkov instability

Richtmyer-Meshkov instability is studied in shock tube experiments with an Atwood number of 0.7. The interface is formed in a vertical shock tube using opposed gas flows, and three-dimensional random initial interface perturbations are generated by the vertical oscillation of gas column producing Faraday waves. Planar Laser Mie scattering is used for flow visualization and for measurements of the mixing process. Experimental image sequences are recorded at 6 kHz frequency and processed to obtain the time dependent variation of the integral mixing layer width.
