Teoria dos Jogos: Identificação do Ponto de Equilíbrio de Nash em Jogos Bimatriciais em Indicadores Econômicos e Sociais

Currently companies have to think about its management system to meet not only their economic interests but also their social interests aiming at the activities’ sustainability and longevity. In this research, the goal is to identify the Nash equilibrium point in the bi-matrix game of economic and social indicators of the companies of Public Utilities sector listed on the BM & FBovespa. The research was conducted with a sample of 26 companies. To evaluate the economic performance it was used the profitability and market indicators; for evaluating the social performance, it was used the indicators derived from the VAD (Value Added Statement). In the estimation of earnings among indicators, it was used the standard parameters of the multiple linear regression. The obtained results highlighted the existence of at least one point of equilibrium for the years analyzed and, especially in the models, two points of equilibrium were proposed for 2009 and 2011 and three for 2010. It is noteworthy that, in the proposed model it was confirmed the hypothesis of the existence of at least one point of equilibrium. Thus, it was possible to meet the research objective, namely, that it is possible to meet both economic aspects and the social aspects of the companies when the indicators are taken as basic information.Atualmente as empresas precisam pensar dentro de seu sistema de gestão em satisfazer não apenas seus interesses econômicos, mas também seus interesses sociais visando à sustentabilidade e à perenidade das atividades. Nesta pesquisa, o objetivo é identificar o ponto de equilíbrio de Nash no jogo bimatricial de indicadores econômicos e sociais das empresas do setor de Utilidade Pública listadas na BM&FBovespa. Realizou-se a pesquisa com uma amostra de 26 empresas. Para avaliar o desempenho econômico utilizaram-se os indicadores de rentabilidade e mercado; para a avaliação de desempenho social, utilizaram-se indicadores oriundos da DVA (Demonstração do Valor Adicionado). Na estimação dos ganhos entre os indicadores, utilizaram-se os parâmetros padronizados da regressão linear múltipla. Nos resultados obtidos, destacou-se a existência de pelo menos um ponto de equilíbrio para os anos analisados, e em especial nos modelos propuseram-se dois pontos de equilíbrio para 2009 e 2011, e três para 2010. Destaca-se que, no modelo proposto, confirmou-se a hipótese da existência de pelo menos um ponto de equilíbrio. Desse modo, conseguiu-se satisfazer o objetivo da pesquisa de que é possível atender tanto aos aspectos econômicos quanto aos aspectos sociais das empresas quando se tomam como informações básicas os indicadores

Drug Overdose Prevention 2021: Revisiting Healthcare and First Responders’ Needs

In 2019, STEPs conducted quantitative surveys and focus groups with healthcare and EMS/fire first responders. Due to the amount of data collected and the tight timeline of the overall project, analyses of both the quantitative and qualitative data were minimal. Data and findings from the healthcare and EMS/fire first responders were analyzed and reported separately in the initial report. The research team hoped that an in-depth analysis would provide greater insight into this data. The following report is a secondary analysis of the 2019 data

Performance of Brazilian graduate programs in accounting at the tangent of scientific research

O objetivo consiste em avaliar o desempenho dos programas de pós-graduação brasileiros de Contabilidade, no que tange a estrutura de construção do conhecimento. Foram analisadas sete programas de pós-graduação, durante o triênio de 2010 a 2012. Pautou-se a análise nos critérios definidos pela CAPES, aplicando-se o Método PROMÉTHÉE II, para a criação dos rankings. Conclui-se que alguns limiares precisam ser vencidos, principalmente, em relação à produção e a interação internacional dos programas. Sobre a função social, há forte relação da publicação dos professores, conjuntamente, com os alunos. Além de que a preocupação excessiva na produtividade pode gerar limitações na evolução do conhecimento científico, conforme defendido por trabalhos nesta áreaThe objective is to evaluate the performance of brazilian graduate accounting programs, regarding the structure of knowledge construction. Seven graduate programs were analyzed over the three year period 2010 to 2012 The analysis criteria was based in defined by CAPES, applying the PROMÉTHÉE Method II, to create the rankings.
