    Purpose: to form the feeling of patriotism and competence of medical students during the programmatic study of the modern history of Ukraine through the analysis of socio-political, socio-economic transformational processes in Ternopil region in&nbsp;1939–1941&nbsp;and their consequences Materials and Methods. On the basis of historical-comparative and bibliosemantic methods, systematic analysis of scientific sources of domestic researchers and diaspora historians, archival materials, concerning information about the events of the pre-war period on the territory of Ternopil region, was carried out. Results. In the proposed article, the authors disclose the nature and motives of the new Soviet government, which occupied the territory of Western Ukraine on September 17,&nbsp;1939, and through violence introduced its reforms to the local population.&nbsp;It is established that the opinions of the researchers diverge in the interpretation of the Red Army liberation campaign in the west and the relationship between the general state and regional factors of Soviet reforms in Ternopil region. Conclusion .&nbsp;The authors made their own contribution to the disclosure of the motives and consequences of the former&nbsp;Soviet power in the territory.Мета: шляхом аналізу суспільно-політичних та соціально-економічних трансформаційних процесів на Тернопільщині в 1939–1941 рр. та їх наслідків формувати у студентів-медиків почуття патріотизму, компетентності під час програмного вивчення новітньої історії України. Матеріали і методи. На основі історико-порівняльного та бібліосемантичного методів проведено систематичний аналіз наукових джерел вітчизняних дослідників та істориків діаспори, архівних матеріалів щодо інформації про події передвоєнного періоду на території Тернопільщини. Результати. У запропонованій статті авторами розкрито природу та мотиви нової радянської влади, яка збройно вcтупила на територію Західної України 17 вересня 1939 р. і шляхом насилля запроваджувала свої реформи місцевому населенню. Встановлено, що думки дослідників розходяться в трактуванні визвольного походу Червоної армії на захід та виявлено взаємозв’язок загальнодержавних і регіональних чинників радянізації Тернопільщини. Висновки. Авторами зроблено власний внесок у розкриття мотивів та наслідків діяльності тодішньої радянської влади на території краю

    There was studied the influence of antiretroviral and antimycobacterial chemotherapy on releasing from the gliacell marker lesions – S100b protein in the context of possible iatrogenic. It was established that a slight increase inthe concentration of S100b protein in blood serum of patients with co-infection of HIV /TB after starting HAART wasnot associated with the occurrence of symptoms of the central nervous system.Было изучено влияние препаратов антиретровирусной и антимикобактериальной химиотерапии навысвобождение из клеток нейроглии маркера поражения протеина S100b, в разрезе возможной ятрогении.Установлено, что незначительное повышение концентрации белка S100b в сыворотке крови больныхc ко-инфекцией ВИЧ/туберкулез после начала высокоактивной антиретровирусной терапии не былосвязано с возникновением симптомов со стороны центральной нервной системы.Вивчено вплив препаратів антиретровірусної та антимікобактеріальної хіміотерапії на вивільненняз клітин нейроглії маркера ураження протеїну S100b з огляду на можливу ятрогенію.     The proposed article reflects the mechanisms of implementation of the new Soviet educational and cultural values that reflect the Marxist-Leninist ideology, which was based on an international worldview class contradictions and constant struggle against private property, destroying religious beliefs of the local population.  The so-called reform contradicts the nature of Ukrainian national ideology, destroying its cultural and educational heritage of centuries. For this purpose, the new Soviet government introduces in all Western -Ukrainian schools as second Russian language as a means of international communication and academic educational network of country subordinates to one Moscow’s educational-methodical center.У пропонованій статті висвітлено механізми впровадження радянських освітньо-культурних цінностей, які відображали марксистсько-ленінську ідеологію, що ґрунтувалася на інтернаціональному світобаченні класових протиріч та постійній боротьбі з приватною власністю, руйнуючи релігійні переконання місцевого населення. Так звана реформа протирічила природі українського національного світогляду, нищила його культурно-освітні  багатовікові надбання. З цією метою радянська влада запроваджувала в усіх західноукраїнських школах другу російську мову, як засіб міжнаціонального спілкування, а також освітню виховну мережу краю підпорядковувала єдиному Московському освітньо-методичному центру

    Differential diagnosis of primary and metastatic ovarian carcinomas

    Ovarian tumors constitute 3.4 % of the structure of oncological diseases in women worldwide. However, the ovaries are also a common target for metastasis of carcinoma from other organs. Conducting differential diagnosis between primary carcinoma and metastasis is often challenging. The aim of this study is to highlight the issues of morphological and immunohistochemical differential diagnosis of primary ovarian carcinomas and metastases from carcinomas of various organs to the ovaries. Materials and methods. Data analysis of clinical and pathohistological studies of 381 patients. Paraffin sections for pathohistological studies were stained with hematoxylin and eosin using standard methodology. Immunohistochemical studies were conducted in 161 cases using a panel of antibodies: cytokeratins, estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors, CA125, TTF1, Vimentin, CDX2, Villin, Chromogranin A, Synaptophysin, CD56, GATA, p53, Inhibin A, FOXL-2, PAX-8, Ki-67. The specimens were examined and analyzed using the Axioskop 40 microscope (Zeiss) with the AxioCam MRc camera (Zeiss). Results. The article discusses key issues of differential diagnosis of primary and metastatic ovarian carcinomas based on a large clinical and operational material. The application of an adequate panel of immunohistochemical antibodies for verification is considered. The results of the frequency of occurrence of different histological variants of ovarian carcinomas and metastases to the ovaries from carcinomas of other organs are provided based on our own research from 2019 to 2023. The main morphological and immunohistochemical indicators for practical use in the work of a pathologist in the verification of ovarian tumors are presented. An example of forming an antibody panel, taking into account clinical and morphological indicators in a specific clinical case from our own practice, is given. Conclusions. Metastases of carcinomas from other organs to the ovaries constitute half of all cases requiring immunohistochemical investigation based on morphological structure. The most common are metastases from breast and colorectal cancers. However, the diagnosis of metastatic intestinal carcinoma is particularly challenging, as there is usually no clear clinical picture. In the differential diagnosis of primary and metastatic ovarian tumors, a comprehensive approach to analyzing the clinical presentation, microscopic structure of the tumor, and the surrounding tissue plays a significant role. Additionally, the formation of an antibody panel, taking into account these data, is crucial. The article provides a list of antibodies that have demonstrated greater effectiveness in our work

    Charged particle decay of hot and rotating 88^{88}Mo nuclei in fusion-evaporation reactions

    A study of fusion-evaporation and (partly) fusion-fission channels for the 88^{88}Mo compound nucleus, produced at different excitation energies in the reaction 48^{48}Ti + 40^{40}Ca at 300, 450 and 600 MeV beam energies, is presented. Fusion-evaporation and fusion-fission cross sections have been extracted and compared with the existing systematics. Experimental data concerning light charged particles have been compared with the prediction of the statistical model in its implementation in the Gemini++ code, well suited even for high spin systems, in order to tune the main model parameters in a mass region not abundantly covered by exclusive experimental data. Multiplicities for light charged particles emitted in fusion evaporation events are also presented. Some discrepancies with respect to the prediction of the statistical model have been found for forward emitted α\alpha-particles; they may be due both to pre-equilibrium emission and to reaction channels (such as Deep Inelastic Collisions, QuasiFission/QuasiFusion) different from the compound nucleus formation.Comment: 14 pages, 14 figure

    Precise Measurement of the Pi+ -> Pi0 e+ nu Branching Ratio

    Using a large acceptance calorimeter and a stopped pion beam we have made a precise measurement of the rare Pi+ -> Pi0 e+ Nu,(pi_beta) decay branching ratio. We have evaluated the branching ratio by normalizing the number of observed pi_beta decays to the number of observed Pi+ -> e+ Nu, (pi_{e2}) decays. We find the value of Gamma(Pi+ -> Pi0 e+ Nu)/Gamma(total) = [1.036 +/- 0.004(stat.) +/- 0.004(syst.) +/- 0.003(pi_{e2})] x 10^{-8}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third is the pi_{e2} branching ratio uncertainty.     Search for invisible decays of sub-GeV dark photons in missing-energy events at the CERN SPS

    We report on a direct search for sub-GeV dark photons (A') which might be produced in the reaction e^- Z \to e^- Z A' via kinetic mixing with photons by 100 GeV electrons incident on an active target in the NA64 experiment at the CERN SPS. The A's would decay invisibly into dark matter particles resulting in events with large missing energy. No evidence for such decays was found with 2.75\cdot 10^{9} electrons on target. We set new limits on the \gamma-A' mixing strength and exclude the invisible A' with a mass < 100 MeV as an explanation of the muon g_\mu-2 anomaly.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures; Typos corrected, references adde

    Measurement of the 25Mg(α,n)28Si reaction cross section at LNL

    The detection of the 1809 keV emission line associated with the decay of 26Al (T1=2 ∼ 7:2 · 105 years) in the interstellar medium provides a direct evidence that nucleosynthesis is ongoing in our galaxy. 26Al is thought to be mainly produced in massive stars, but in order to have a quantitative understanding of the 26Al distribution, the cross section of all the nuclear reactions involved in its production should be accurately known. 25Mg(α,n)28Si is one of the reactions with the strongest impact on the synthesis of 26Al during explosive neon and carbon burning. Its cross section has been measured by many authors, but below 3 MeV, the literature data are still characterized by large uncertainties due to beam-induced background. The reaction rate reported by NACRE is based on unpublished data and, at higher energies, on Hauser-Feshbach calculations, disregarding other experimental cross section datasets. In order to improve the experimental knowledge of the 25Mg(α,n)28Si cross section, a new direct measurement has been performed at Legnaro National Laboratories. A pulsed alpha beam with energies E = 3-5 MeV was provided by the CN accelerator. The neutrons were detected with 10 liquid scintillators BC501 from the RIPEN array, positioned at different angles. g-n discrimination is achieved applying the Pulse Shape Analysis technique. Furthermore, measuring the neutron energy with the Time Of Flight method it is possible to disentangle the contribution to the cross section of different 28Si excited states, and to identify the background neutrons produced by (α,n) reactions with light contaminants in the setup.
