To achieve the state when the identity of the student can feel confident in the process of choice and decision making, it is important to teach students the skills of critical thinking. In this regard, this paper is aimed to identify trends in didactic and pedagogical solutions to the problem. A leading research method is a constructive monitoring that allows using for the concept of “critical thinking” of the modern sense, due to the characteristics of the global information environment. The paper reveals the typology of thinking, the structure and content of its kinds; reveals peculiarities of process of formation of students’ critical thinking, defining transformations of the learning content (interdisciplinary units) and learning technologies (interactive, design, computer); justifies the set of didactic tendencies of forming of students’ critical thinking. Productivity of the revealed complex of didactic tendencies for students’ critical thinking formation is proved. The paper submissions can be useful for teachers, listeners of the system of qualification’s improvement and retraining of teachers, methodologists, post-graduates and University students

Mode transitions and hysteresis in inductively coupled plasmas

Optical emission spectroscopy as a noninvasive plasma diagnostic was employed to study mode transitions and hysteresis in an inductively coupled plasma in Ar and Ar/N-2 mixtures. Using selected Ar lines, basic plasma parameters, relevant to the analysis of the mode transitions, were evaluated. Small changes of the electron energy distribution function in the vicinity of the mode transition were detected. The role of metastable Ar atoms in mode transitions and in a hysteresis was clarified. Enhanced production of metastables in the hysteresis region as well as faster transitions in plasmas with higher influence of metastables were observed. (c) 2007 American Institute of Physics.101

The synthesis of FeO3 and YFe1–xNixO3 (x = 0.1; 0.15; 0.2; 0.3; 0.5) nanocrystals was performed under the conditions of a self-propagating wave of glycine-nitrate combustion and their characterization and determination of the effect of Ni2+ doping of yttrium ferrite on the magnetic properties of nanopowders. The technology for the synthesis of yttrium orthoferrite nanoparticles (with and without doping with Ni2+ ions) by the glycine-nitrate combustion method at a ratio of G/N = 1 and 1.5 without adding a gelling agent to the reaction mixture and using ethylene glycol/glycerol is described. For the characterization of nanopowders based on YFeO3, the following were determined: phase composition and crystal structure (X-ray diffraction (XRD) method); size and structure of nanocrystal particles (transmission electron microscopy (TEM)); elemental composition of the samples (local X-ray spectral microanalysis (LXSMA)); magnetic characteristics (field dependences of specific magnetization). Thermal annealing of the synthesized samples at 800°C for 60 min led to the formation of the ĐŸ-YFeO3 main phase. Undoped samples of yttrium orthoferrite were characterized by a particle diameter in the range of 5-185 nm, depending on the gelling agent used. YFe1-xNixO3 particles had a predominantly round shape with a size of 24 to 31 nm; the non-monotonic dependence of the average particle diameter on the dopant content was revealed: as the amount of dopant added increased, the average crystallite size tended to decrease. Nanopowders of undoped yttrium orthoferrite exhibit antiferromagnetic behaviour of magnetic susceptibility with temperature. The change in the magnetic properties of the nickel-doped YFeO3 nanocrystalline powders was due to the incorporation of Ni2+ into the Fe3+position, which led to the formation of a material with more pronounced soft magnetic properties at a substitution degree of 0.1. Samples with high degrees of substitution (x = 0.15 and 0.3) were also characterized by paramagnetic behaviour at temperatures above 100 K

New thermodynamic data for CoTiO3, NiTiO3 and CoCO3 based on low-temperature calorimetric measurements

The low-temperature heat capacities of nickel titanate (NiTiO3), cobalt titanate (CoTiO3), and cobalt carbonate (CoCO3) were measured between 2 and 300 K, and thermochemical functions were derived from the results. Our new data show previously unknown low-temperature lambda-shaped heat capacity anomalies peaking at 37 K for CoTiO3 and 26 K for NiTiO3. From our data we calculate standard molar entropies (298.15 K) for NiTiO3 of 90.9 ± 0.7 J mol-1 K-1 and for CoTiO3 of 94.4 ± 0.8 J mol-1 K-1. For CoCO3, we find only a small broad heat capacity anomaly, peaking at about 31 K. From our data, we suggest a new standard entropy (298.15 K) for CoCO3 of 88.9 ± 0.7 J mol-1 K-1

THE BISHOP OF NOLINSK ALEXANDER (MALININ): FOGOTTEN CONFESSOR OF THE FAITH

The article describes life of Vyatka diocese vicar bishop of Nolinsk Alexander (Malinin). Currently fates of hierarch who was ordained in 1920–1930 isn’t investigated. One of the problems in biography of bishop Alexander is mistake of Metropolitan Elevfery (Bogoyavlensky). He called this hierarch John in his book “A week in Patriarhiya”. As a result, bishop Alexander was mentioned twice in all directories — under his own name and under name “bishop John of Glazov”. Life of bishop Alexander was almost unknown. But his biography was managed to establish. According to an investigative case he was arrested two weeks later, after bishop’s ordination in the night from 10-th to 11-th of December. He was arrested because he said reckless statement during his ordination. In his speech he spoke about persecution of the Church and bishop’ arrests. This speech was pronounced in the in the presence of foreign hierarch — Elevfery (Bogoyavlensky). Bishop Alexander was blamed of trying to transmit information abroad about persecution of the Orthodox Church. He was senteneed to three years in camps. He died when he arrived of the place. In the article is concluded that we should approach to source (such as “A week in Patriarhiya”) with precautions. Moreover, author pay attention that until recently name of bishop Alexander absented in passionless of casualties of Communist repressions. So, we must explore feats of Martyrs and Russian confessors more actively

Inductively Coupled Plasma Test Reactor Development And Plasma Measurements

    No full text
In this work, the design of an inductively coupled plasma test reactor is presented. The reactor is constructed with the goals to allow development of high density plasma diagnostics (Langmuir probe and optical emission spectroscopy) and optimization of the main plasma parameters, with the main emphasis on the radial uniformity of the plasma. A Faraday shield was installed to reduce the capacitive coupling to the plasma, resulting in a considerable improvement of the plasma uniformity and Langmuir probe measurements accuracy.PV 2005-08226234Hopwood, J., (1992) Plasma Sources Sci.
