A nátrium-glutamát génexpresszióra gyakorolt hatásainak vizsgálata | Effects of dietary monosodium-glutamate on gene expression
Absztrakt:
Bevezetés: Napjainkban az élelmiszeripar egyre gyakrabban
alkalmaz különféle adalékanyagokat az élelmiszerek előállítása során.
Célkitűzés: Állatkísérletben vizsgáltuk, hogy a
nátrium-glutamát tartós fogyasztása befolyásolja-e a DNS-metil-transzferázok
Eredmények: A négy szövettípus génexpressziós
mintázatában több esetben eltérést találtunk a kontrollcsoporthoz viszonyítva. A
DNMT1 mind a három csoportban szignifikánsan (p<0,05) visszaszorította a
génexpressziót. A DNMT3A a tüdőszövetben az első és második csoportnál
(p<0,05), a vese- és májszövetben mind a három csoportnál szignifikánsan
visszaszorította a génexpressziót (p<0,05). Következtetések:
A nátrium-glutamát hasonlóan a kemopreventív tulajdonságokkal rendelkező
epigallo-katekin-galláthoz, kurkuminhez, geniszteinhez, likopinhoz,
rezveratrolhoz, mRNS-szinten visszaszorította a kísérleti egerek több szervében
is a DNMT1 és DNMT3A génexpresszióját, amely
tulajdonságai miatt feltételezhető, hogy antikarcinogén hatással is
rendelkezik.Orv. Hetil., 2017, 158(10), 380–385.

Abstract:
Introduction: Nowadays, the food industry more often uses
different type of additives during the food production. Aim:
Our aim was to examine the monosodium-glutamate’s effect (in animal experiment)
on DNA-methyltransferases in gene expression patterns of mRNA levels.
Materials and method: In the investigation we used 24
(n=24) CD1 type female mice. The animals were fed with different equivalent
human doses of the tested substance. After autopsy, mRNA was isolated from
different tissues (lung, liver, kidney, spleen). DNMT1,
DNMT3A and DNMT3B levels were determined by
Quantitative Real-Time PCR. Results:
DNMT1 significantly suppressed the gene expression in all the
three treated groups (p<0.05). The DNMT3A expression
patterns showed significant decreasing tendency in the 1. and 2. treated groups
of the lung tissue (p<0,05) and 1, 2, 3. groups of liver and kidney tissues
(p<0,05). Conclusions: Our results shows that the monosodium
glutamate, suppressed the DNMT1 and DNMT3A
gene expression – on mRNA levels of several organs – in mice. It can be a
similar chemopreventive effect to epigallo-catechin-gallate’s, curcumin’s,
genistein’s, likopine’s and rezveratrol’s effects. In this case it can be
possible that the MSG has anticarcinogenic effects. Orv. Hetil., 2017,

A növényi alapú étrendről | Plant-based diets: a review
Absztrakt
A növényi alapú étrend egy régi-új táplálkozási irányzat. Jelen összefoglaló
tanulmányban történeti alapokból kiindulva kívánjuk ismertetni ezt a napjainkban
egyre népszerűbb táplálkozási törekvést. Célunk bemutatni a növényi alapú
táplálkozást mint primer prevenciós eszközt. Irodalmi adatok alapján kritikusan
elemezzük a növényi alapú étrendhez kapcsolódó korábbi téves vélekedéseket
(fehérje-, B12-vitamin-, folsav-, vasbevitel), és megfelelő fogalmi
alapot teremtünk ezen étrend értelmezéséhez, amelynek gerincét a gyümölcsök,
A daganatos megbetegedésben
szenvedő betegek esetén az állati eredetű élelmiszerek háttérbe szorítása a
növényi alapúakkal szemben is igazoltan pozitív hatású. Áttekintésünk bemutatja,
hogy ez a fajta táplálkozás számos egészségügyi probléma esetén alkalmazható, és
hosszú távon is fenntartható megoldást biztosít a legújabb kor egészségügyi
kihívásaira. Orv. Hetil., 2016, 157(47), 1859–1865.

Abstract
Plant-based diet is an old-new trend in nutrition. In this review based on a
historical context, we wish to introduce this popular nutritional trend. Our aim
is to present plant-based diet as a primary measure for prevention. We intend to
critically analyse some past stereotypes related to plant-based diet – whose
main components include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and
seeds – according to the literature (e.g. protein, vitamin B12, folic
acid, and iron intake) by doing so we wish to create an adequate conceptual
basis for its interpretation. We discuss positive physiological effects of
plant-based diet and its possible role in diseases risk reduction.
Cardiovascular and metabolic diseases developing due to obesity could be
prevented by a properly compiled plant-based diet. For patients with cancer
minimizing the intake of foods of animal origin – as opposed to plant-based ones
– has proved to have positive effects. Our review suggests this diet can be used
in a number of diseases and it also provides long-term sustainable solutions for
the health care challenges of the newest era. Orv. Hetil., 2016,

The politics of culture in Northern Ireland
OBJECTIVES: The first consensus report that had been presented by the European Germ Cell Cancer Consensus Group (EGCCCG) in 2004 has found widespread approval by many colleagues throughout the world. In November 2006, the group met a second time under the auspices of the Department of Urology of the Amsterdam Medical Center, The Netherlands. METHODS: Medical oncologists, urologic surgeons, radiation oncologists as well as pathologists from several European countries reviewed and discussed the data that had emerged since the 2002 conference and incorporated the new data into updated and revised guidelines. As for the first meeting the methodology of evidence-based medicine (EBM) was applied. The results of the discussion were compiled by the writing committee. All participants have agreed to this final update. RESULTS: The second part of the consensus paper includes the treatment of metastasised disease, residual tumour resection, salvage therapy, follow-up, and late toxicities. CONCLUSIONS: Whereas the vast majority of the recommendations made in 2004 remain valid 3 yr later, refinements in the treatment of early-stage as well as of advanced-stage testicular cancer have emerged from clinical trials. Despite technical improvements, expert clinical skills will continue to be one of the major determinants for the prognosis of patients with germ cell cancer. In addition, the particular needs of testicular cancer survivors have been acknowledged
