Palm kernel activated carbon-Epoxy (PKAC-E) composite possess good properties to function as a self-lubricated material in the dry sliding conditions. However, there are no previous studies have focused on the physical-mechanical properties of this composite. In this study, the effect of PKAC composition on the physical-mechanical properties of the composite was investigated. The polymer resin was reinforced with 65%, 70%, and 75% by weight of PKAC and compacted into a die at 70°C with 20-ton pressure for 15 minutes by using compaction technique. The specimens were prepared to conduct tensile, hardness, porosity, density, and water absorption tests. It was observed that the most interesting properties for PKAC-E composite have found in the hardness and density tests. The properties of PKAC-E composite 65-35% were better than other two composites 70-30% and 75-25% in terms of high hardness and low density, while the PKAC-E composite 70-30% was slightly better in terms of tensile strength properties. In addition, the PKAC-E composite 65-35 % has proved its superiority in terms of hardness and density properties with other synthetic-natural reinforced polymer composites. PKAC-E composite with the optimum properties has high hardness, lightweight, low-cost and can be very useful for further industrial applications and other machinery parts

This exploratory study investigated the variables that predict academic writing difficulties (AWDs) among first-year doctoral students, international and domestic, at a large, publicly funded research university in Southeastern United States. Data were collected through an online survey. The final sample size contained 111 first - year students, domestic and international from various doctoral programs. The first analysis examined factors predicting first-year doctoral students\u27 self-assessed writing difficulties, using Multiple Linear Regression. Five factors were statistically significant predictors of AWDs: Asian race, Colleges of Business, Engineering, and Science, and the age between fifty-five to sixty-four. The remaining factors associated with age, Race, or College were not statistically significant. The second analysis examined differences between domestic and international students using Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and Multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA). The MANOVA results indicated statistically significant differences in the AWD and GRE writing scores between domestic and international students, but no statistically significant difference was found between the two groups for Motivation. However, when GRE writing scores were used as a covariate, the MANCOVA revealed statistically significant differences for both Motivation and AWD between international and domestic doctoral students. The findings of this study have important pedagogical implications for doctoral students, graduate faculty, curriculum designers, university\u27s administrators, and universities writing support programs

The Qur'anic methods and their impact on the building of man and society---I chose this title because the Qur'anic stories derive from their lessons, and if we apply them to our contemporary reality and serve civil society, we will live in comfort, tranquility, and justice. It is He who is between His hands and the detailing of all things, and guidance and mercy for people who believe [Yusuf: .[111 The nature of the research required an introduction, three chapters, a conclusion, sources, and references. Introduction: After thanking and praising the Almighty and praying for His Prophet, I mentioned the reason for choosing the topic and the research plan. The first topic was Quranic stories and their goals; the second was civil society, its advantages, and its characteristics; and the third was the use of Quranic stories. Conclusion: The included the most important results of the research. In conclusion, I have made a modest effort in this research, for whatever was right in it is from God alone, to Him be praise in the first and the hereafter, and whatever was found in it of error, slippage, or omission is from myself and the devil, and I ask God's forgiveness for that. And I ask God to make this work purely for His sake and to teach us what will benefit us; we know that He is the guardian and the one who is able to do it. Water treatment compact units are widely applied in Iraq for production of drinking water. Treated water quality meets world Health Organization (WHO) standards. Present work focuses upon compact water treatment units design, power and pressure drops control modeling and simulations. Computer program software (compact pro) was developed to calculate the pressure losses in piping network and process equipment's. Results obtained for pressure drop unit length for different pipe diameters and roughness, show that for pipe diameter above (200 mm) for (200 m 3 /hr),water pressure drop almost the same, while for pipe diameter less than (200 mm), water pressure drop is minimum for PVC and Stainless steel and maximum for galvanized steel. As the piping roughness increase, pressure drop will increase in general for any water internal flow rate. As internal flow rate increased, water pressure drop increase .This result is very important for process designer. Comparisons between results of Compact Pro Software and Pipe flow expert Software for different Input data, shows a good agreement which not exceed 8.6% as maximum. There are only slight change in pressure and pressure drop to the proposed model for compact water treatment unit, sensible change in pressure and pressure drop in the sand filtrations stage. Power calculations for the two water treatment stages, including shaft power for pumps motors for different piping materials. Results show that power can be saved up to more than 85 %
