We propose recent functional data analysis techniques to study the intra-daily volatility. In particular, the volatility extraction is based on functional principal components and the volatility prediction on functional AR(1) models. The estimation of the corresponding parameters is carried out using the functional equivalent to OLS. We apply these ideas to the empirical analysis of the IBEX35 returns observed each _ve minutes. Reform and Regression: The Aftermath of the 1909 Cairo, Illinois Lynching

My paper highlights the research of the event and the context and impact of the lynching. My familial connection guided my research and led me to see the positives and negatives of this violent event. The effective use of the 1905 Illinois law against mob lynchings was a state victory. Ida B. Wells and other activists were helpful in this process. But researching the history of Cairo prior to the lynching and the aftermath of the murders, showed that the victory did not impact Cairo sufficiently. The event was not an anomaly once one researches America\u27s problem with lynching at the time and Cairo\u27s racism. Also, the city\u27s downturn in the decades after can lead to a correlation being made between Cairo\u27s race issues

EFEKTIVITAS PELAKSANAAN PROGRAM SARJANA MEMBANGUN DESA (SMD) DI SUMATERA BARAT

Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat persepsi peternak sapi terhadap efektivitas pelaksanaan SMD di Sumatera Barat. Jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Variabel yang diteliti adalah efektivitas pelaksanaan program SMD dilihat dari aspek ekonomis, teknis, kelembagaan, dan efektivitas SMD. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) pada aspek ekonomis, hanya sebanyak 55.40% responden peternak sapi yang memiliki persepsi positif bahwa program SMD mampu meningkatkan aspek ekonomis peternak sapi, dan sisanya memiliki persepsi negative terhadap program SMD yang dilaksanakan. Angka itu berada pada level cukup efektif, sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa pelaksanaan SMD masih belum berada pada kategori yang baik dalam meningkatkan taraf perekonomian peternak sapi; 2) pada aspek teknis, hanya sebanyak 56.77% peternak sapi yang memiliki persepsi positif bahwa program SMD mampu meningkatkan aspek teknis, sisanya memiliki persepsi negative terhadap program SMD yang dilaksanakan. Angka itu berada pada level cukup efektif, sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa pelaksanaan SMD masih belum berada pada kategori yang baik dalam meningkatkan aspek teknis pelaksanaan peternakan sapi; 3) pada aspek kelembagaan, hanya sebanyak 55.40% peternak sapi yang memiliki persepsi positif terhadap keberadaan program SMD yang mampu meningkatkan aspek kelembagaan, sementara sisanya memiliki persepsi negative terhadap program SMD yang dilaksanakan. Angka itu berada pada level cukup efektif, sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa pelaksanaan SMD masih belum berada pada kategori yang baik dalam meningkatkan aspek kelembagaan dalam peternakan sapi; 4) pada aspek efektivitas pelaksaan SMD, hanya sebanyak 53.29% peternak sapi yang memilki persepsi positif bahwa program SMD telah dilakukan secara efektif dan telah memberikan nilai efektifitas yang cukup tinggi bagi peternak sapi yang bersangkutan, sementara sisanya menyatakan bahwa program SMD belum efektif dilaksanakan. Hopf hypersurfaces

This thesis is concerned with Hopf hypersurfaces of Kähler and nearly Kähler manifolds and gives special emphasis to the cases of hypersurfaces of complex projective spaces and of the 6-sphere endowed with its nearly Kähler almost complex structure. Although there is already a wealth of investigations done in the case of complex space forms and the 6-sphere, a full classification of these hypersurfaces in the former spaces was done under assumption of constancy of the rank of its focal map. Here, the classification is revisited and this assumption is removed although a complete classification is still not obtained. The characterization of the Hopf hypersurfaces of the 6-sphere as tubular hypersurfaces around almost complex curves is used to determine among these hypersurfaces special examples which have constant mean curvature or are Einstein hypersurfaces. The invariants needed to decide when a pair of hypersurfaces of S(^6) and CP(^n) are respectively G(_2)-congruent and holomorphically congruent are determined and this result is applied to characterize the hypersurfaces of these spaces whose Hopf vector fields are also Killing field. Finally, the linearly full almost complex 2-spheres of S(^6) with at most two singularities are determined up to G(^C)(_2)-congruence of their directrix curves and this is used to determine the space of linearly full almost complex 2-spheres of S(^6) with suitably small induced area

PENGARUH SUHU DAN LAMA FERMENTASI PADA PEMBUATAN BLACK GARLIC TERHADAP AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI Escherichia coli

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari suhu dan lama fermentasi yang optimum pada pembuatan black garlic untuk menghambat pertumbuhan Escherichia coli. Maksud dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan kajian terhadap bawang putih yang difermentasi secara alami sehingga menghasilkan zat antibakteri yang lebih baik dari bawang putih biasa. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan pola faktorial 1 x 6 dengan ulangan sebanyak 4 kali. Perlakuan terdiri dari satu faktor yaitu suhu fermentasi yang terdiri dari enam taraf yaitu : w1 = 7 hari, dan w2 = 14 hari, dan w3 = 21 hari, dan w4 = 28 hari, dan w5 = 35 hari, dan w6 = 42 hari. Analisis yang digunakan meliputi Organoleptik, Analisis Antioksidan, Analisis Zat Anti Mikroba, dan Analisis Total Plate Count.
