    Do the Techniques Really Improve Students’ Mastery in Vocabulary?

    This study describes the techniques applied by teachers in teaching English vocabulary to the tenth grade students at Muhammadiyah Boarding School 1 Weleri. This study aims to determine and describe the techniques used by teachers on how teachers apply these techniques in teaching English vocabulary, and analyze the responses of students regarding the techniques used by teachers in vocabulary learning. The subjects of this study were two teachers and six tenth grade students at Muhammadiyah Boarding School 1 Weleri. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The research was obtained by observation, interview and documentation. The results of this study, researchers found five techniques used by both teachers in teaching English vocabulary. Teacher A techniques used are: (a) example sentences, (b) word syntaxes, (c) translating with dictionaries, (d) practice (oral drills and practice exercises), and (e) memorization. Teacher B techniques used are: (a) equality of words / opposites, (b) translating, (c) practice, and (e) memorization. Students‘ responses in general can accept the techniques used by both teachers, which can be seen from the attitudes, activeness, and enthusiasm of students when attending lessons. Students have different responses to the techniques used by teacher A and teacher B. With the techniques applied by the teacher in vocabulary learning, students‘ get improvement in learning English

    Asuhan Keperawatan Keluarga Ny. S Dengan Gangguan Sistem Pernafasan “TBC” Pada Sdr. H Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Gajahan Kota Surakarta

    Latar Belakang : jumlah penderita TBC yang ditemukan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Surakarta sejak tahun 2011 sebanyak 24 orang. Dan kasus baru pada tahun 2012 sampai bulan April ada 3 orang. Tujuan: untuk mengetahui asuhan keperawatan pada pasien TBC meliputi pengkajian, diagnosa keperawatan, intervensi, implementasi dan evaluasi dan untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan keluarga dalam tugas keluarga dalam kesehatan. Hasil : setelah dilakukan asuhan keperawatan 3x24 jam didapatkan hasil nutrisi kurang terpenuhi karena keterbatasan biaya, pengetahuan klien dan keluarga mengenai konsep TBC, cara pencegahan penularan, pemenuhan nutrisi meningkat, pencegahan belum bisa terlaksana sepenuhnya karena keterbatasan biaya. Kesimpulan : kerjasama antara klien, keluarga klien dan perawat sangat diperlukan untuk keberhasilan asuhan keperawatan keluarga, pendidikan kesehatan mengenai konsep TBC, pencegahan penularan TBC dapat membantu klien dan keluarga dalam perawatan klien

    Body dissatisfaction terhadap psychological well being pada karyawati

    Psychological well-being is a state of an individual who is able to accept themselves as they are so that they can achieve prosperity in life. Psychological well-being in female employees can be influenced by body dissatisfaction. Body dissatisfaction here is more about the aspect of distress caused by body weight and body shape, making it embarrassing to appear in public. One of the factors that can give rise to body dissatisfaction is deep dissatisfaction with oneself and life. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between body dissatisfaction (as measured by the body shape questionnaire) and psychological well-being in female employees (as measured by the psychological well-being scale). This measurement was carried out on 140 samples using a saturated sampling technique (total sampling) on female employees who worked at the Tulungagung and Trenggalek branches of Bumi Putra Insurance. The results of the correlational analysis show that there is a significant negative relationship between these two variables. The result is r -.248 with a significance value of 0.003 <0.05

    Nurses’ Perspective On Postpartum Education Needs In A Referral Hospital

    Background: The study about nurses’ perception of postpartum complication education is limited. The previous studies in Indonesia focus on providing education as a direct intervention to patients. This study aimed to determine the educational needs of postpartum mothers from the nurses' point of view. Methods: This study was a qualitative study conducted from April to July 2021 in a referral hospital in Central Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through focus group discussions, in-depth interviews, and observations. The participant of this study were seven nurses in the postpartum ward. The collected data were analyzed using a tabulated theme conducted through the thematic analysis approach. Results: All the participants were females. Three major themes were generated in this study: reasons for the need for continuous postpartum education, obstacles to implementing postpartum education, and expectations of future follow-up care. The subthemes for the first theme are patients readmitted to the hospital, excessive educational topics, short admission time, and high-risk postpartum mothers. While the subthemes for the second theme are time constraints, limited educational media, and environmental and cultural influences, and the subthemes for the third theme are continuous monitoring and accessibility of educational media. Conclusion: The study has provided new insights regarding the continuity of postpartum education and the obstacles nurses face and has implications for developing a system of continuity of care for postpartum patients, especially for high-risk patients

    Peningkatan Pengetahuan Penanganan Morning Sickness Pada Kader Kesehatan Melalui Penyuluhan dan Penerapan Latihan Yoga

    Latar belakang: Mual muntah dalam kehamilan atau disebut sebagai morning sickness merupakan keluhan yang umum terjadi pada trimester pertama. Kondisi ini dapat menimbulkan masalah nutrisi ringan sampai sedang, akan tetapi juga dapat menjadi sumber ketidaknyamanan yang sangat mengganggu bagi ibu hamil, samai dengan menimbulkan efek fisik, sosial maupun psikososial bagi ibu yang mengalaminya. Pranayama dan postur restoratif yoga terpilih terbukti efektif dalam mengatasi morning sickness pada kehamilan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan pengaruh program penyuluhan dan penerapan latihan yoga pada kader kesehatan untuk menangani morning sickness dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang morning sickness dan konsep yoga pada ibu hamil. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik one group pre-test and post-test design, dengan jumlah sampel 32 responden. Intervensi berupa pemberian edukasi dengan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, dan diskusi. Hasil: Rata-rata kader kesehatan merupakan IRT (93,8%) yang berusia 40-49 tahun (43,8%) dengan pendidikan terakhir SMA (53,1%). Rata-rata pengetahuan awal peserta sebelum kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan adalah 41,56, kemudian setelah kegiatan pengabdian selesai dilakukan pengetahuan kader meningkat dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 83,13. Hasil analisis data menggunakan Wilcoxon menunjukkan adanya pengaruh edukasi terhadap peningkatan skor pengetahuan responden (p&lt;0,001). Kesimpulan: Peningkatan rata-rata pengetahuan kader yang sangat signifikan menandakan bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini tersampaikan dengan baik. Dengan meningkatnya pengetahuan Kader, diharapkan setelah ini Kader dapat mengimplementasikan pranayama dan postur restoratif yoga terpilih di wilayah tempat tinggalnya untuk mencegah dan mengurangi keparahan morning sickness pada ibu hamil

    Socio Demographic Characteristics Of Pregnant Women Who Are Experiencing Nausea Vomiting In Rural Areas Of Banyumas Regency

    Nausea vomiting in pregnancy or commonly referred to as morning sickness is a common complaint in the first trimester, although it can also occur in the second trimester or all trimester. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristic of pregnant women who experience morning sickness in rural areas. Respondents in this study were pregnant women who experienced morning sickness during July-September 2018 in rural areas of Banyumas District, Central Java Province, Indonesia. This study have used quantitative descriptive design.The results of univariate analysis of 61 pregnant women involved, 77% age of mothers were at low risk, 39,3% were junior high school education, 82% were not working, 60% were pregnant in the first trimester, 61,7% were multigravida, 55.7% did not have a history of nausea and vomiting, and 73,8% in the category of mild nausea and vomiting. It can be concluded that pregnant women who experience nausea and vomiting in rural areas are the majority of those who are of low risk, do not work, are pregnant for the first time, have early pregnancy, and with mild nausea and vomiting

    Aplikasi Komik Antara ASI dan Cinta untuk Meningkatkan Sikap Remaja terhadap Pemberian ASI Eksklusif

    Cakupan pemberian ASI eksklusif di Indonesia masih belum sesuai target nasional. Sikap terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi pemberian ASI eksklusif. Sikap positif terhadap ASI eksklusif yang dibentuk sejak remaja akan mempengaruhi lama pemberian ASI eksklusif setelah menikah. Siswi SMK biasanya bekerja kemudian menikah selepas lulus sekolah. Pembentukan sikap yang positif terhadap ASI eksklusif sejak masih sekolah di SMK menjadi hal yang penting agar memberikan ASI eksklusif setelah menikah. Komik merupakan media edukasi yang menarik bagi remaja sehingga edukasi menggunakan komik diharapkan bisa meningkatkan minat baca remaja. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah meningkatkan sikap remaja terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif. Metode pelaksanaan PKM dengan melakukan ceramah, diskusi, dan pembagian komik kepada khalayak sasaran. Implementasi ceramah, diskusi, dan pembagian komik secara offline dan pelaksanaan pengukuran sikap terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif sebelum dan sesudah PKM dilakukan secara online. Hasil uji normalitas data menggunakan Kolmogorov Smirnov menunjukkan bahwa nilai pre-test tidak terdisitribusi normal (p&lt;0.00) sedangkan nilai post-test terdistribusi normal (p=0.20). Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara nilai pre-test dan post-test khalayak sasaran (Z=-4.457, p&lt;0.00). Edukasi menggunakan komik terbukti dapat meningkatkan sikap remaja terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif
