The purpose of this masterâs thesis is to explore how multicultural pupils and other pupils interact whilst reading contemporary pieces of literature in four first-year classes in Norwegian upper secondary education. The study is a qualitative study that aims to provide answers for the following questions: i) âHow do multicultural pupils and other pupils interact in a literary group discussion?â and ii) âHow do multicultural pupils read contemporary literature that has culture meetings and culture conflicts as central themes?â. To address these questions, I sampled my empirical data through pupilsâ discussions in groups and through a separate semi-structured in-dept interview with eight multicultural pupils as informants. The reading excerpts from two contemporary pieces of literature; "Alle utlendinger har lukka gardiner" av Maria Navarro Skaranger and "Tante Ulrikkes vei" av Zeshan Shakar. In the analysis of the group discussion I have investigated if and possibly how the multicultural pupils share personal experiences and perspectives with their fellow pupils, given that they recognise themselves in the excerpts. An emphasis is placed on the informantsâ identity as multicultural, and how they relate to this identity. James Paul Gees (2000-2001) four aspects of identity have therefore been relevant in the analysis of the interviews to be able to address the pupils alternating identities, particularly their Nature-identity as multicultural and their Institutional-identity as pupils. The studyâs primary findings reveal that the informants seldom share their personal experiences related to their cultural backgrounds in groups with other pupils, even when the discussed topics are cross-cultural encounters and culture conflicts. In the interview following the group discussions however, the informantsâ multicultural identities were present, and they all expressed relating to the material in some way or another.Erfaringsbasert masteroppgave i undervisning med fordypning i norskVID-MAUNORNORMAU65
Frog, where are you?
An Exploration of the âMimetic Aspectsâ of Storyline Used as a Creative and Imaginative Approach to Teaching and Learning in Teacher Education
Chapter 4.
The aim of this study is to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the potential mimetic aspects of The Storyline Approach (TSA)1. This study critically ex-amines how student teachers create imaginative make-believe experiences within the use of examples (props) in teaching and learning about sustainability. The analysis fol-lows the parameters set out in Willberghâs (2011b; 2015, 2016, 2017) theory of mimetic didactics. Data were collected during a Storyline by sound recordings, and immediately after the Storyline using focus group interviews. The result of the study indicates that Storyline expands the studentsâ own experiences through imaginative make-believe interpretations created from 1) The making of the props: the frieze and the handheld puppets, 2) Taking on fictional roles and role-playing, 3) Applying, sharing and using each otherâs knowledge, and 4) Perceiving activities as if they were pupils. This is in-terpreted as important for the studentsâ professional teachersâ qualification in bridging school content with competance for the future.publishedVersio

Can we prevent alfabruni in lambs?
Saponins from Nartheciumossifragum and / or toxins from cyanobacteria have been found to be hepatotoxic and can cause photosensitization in mammals. In our preliminary study we have looked at whether it is possible to develop a bolus with toxinbinding substances which can be used in the Critical grazing period. We have developed and tested the shape, size and weight of a possible bolus, and conducted a precipitation reaction in a simulated sheep stomach
Assessing a nurse-assisted eHealth intervention posthospital discharge in adult patients with non-communicable diseases: a protocol for a feasibility study
Introduction A growing number of patients with non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as heart failure (HF) and colorectal cancer (CRC), are prone to comorbidity, a high rate of readmissions and complex healthcare needs. An eHealth intervention, however, could potentially ameliorate the increasing burdens associated with NCDs by helping to smoothen patient transition from hospital to home and by reducing the number of readmissions. This feasibility study therefore aims to assess the feasibility of a nurse-assisted eHealth intervention posthospital discharge among patients with HF and CRC, while also examining the preliminary clinical and behavioural outcomes of the intervention before initiating a full-scale randomised controlled trial. The recruitment ended in January 2023.
Methods and analysis Twenty adult patients with HF and 10 adult patients with CRC will be recruited from two university hospitals in Norway. Six hospital-based nurse navigators (NNs) will offer support during the transition phase from hospital to home by using a solution for digital remote care, Dignio Connected Care. The patients will use the MyDignio application uploaded to an iPad for 30 days postdischarge. The interactions between patients and NNs will then be assessed through direct observation and qualitative interviews in line with a think-aloud protocol. Following the intervention, semistructured interviews will be used to explore patientsâ experiences of eHealth support and NNsâ experiences of eHealth delivery. The feasibility testing will also comprise a post-test of the Post-System Usability Questionnaire and pretesting of patient-reported outcomes questionnaires, as well as an inspection of user data collected from the software.
Ethics and dissemination The study has been approved by the Norwegian Centre for Research Data (ID.NO: 523386). All participation is based on informed, written consent. The results of the study will be published in open-access, peer-reviewed journals and presented at international and national scientific conferences and meetings.publishedVersio
Combined prompt gamma activation and neutron diffraction analyses of historic metal objects and limestone samples
Two non-destructive neutron techniques have been used for the analysis of archaeological objects, among them English monumental brass plates, Dutch tin-lead spoons, a Roman leaded bronze fibula and several limestone samples. Prompt Gamma Activation Analysis (PGAA) is a non-destructive method for determination of the major and trace element compositions of various archaeological materials.
Time-Of-Flight Neutron Diffraction (TOF-ND), on the other hand, is a non-invasive diagnostic tool for obtaining structural information from ceramic and metal objects. The element information (PGAA) holds the key information for
addressing questions of provenance and authentication, whereas the structure information (TOF-ND) addresses questions of ancient materials and making techniques. Here we present data from those two complementary neutron methods, applied to different types of materials and artefacts, in order to highlight commonalities and
differences
