Modeling, Design and Demonstration for Discrete Lens Antennas with Circular-Polarization in the 60-GHz Band

International audience—This paper presents the modeling, design and demonstration of two circularly-polarized Transmit-Arrays (TA) operating in the 60-GHz band and generating a broadside beam and a 30°-tilted beam respectively. These arrays have a fairly simple structure with only three metal layers and are fabricated with a standard printed-circuit board technology. The simulated results show the performances of the unit-cells as well as the whole arrays, and detail their power budget. The experimental results in V-band are in very good agreement with the simulations and demonstrate very satisfactory characteristics. Power efficiencies up to 53.7% are reached with a 1-dB gain-bandwidth up to 9.1%, and low cross-polarization level

Realization of epidural analgesia despite a contrary desire : the experience of ten women. The rate of epidural analgesia in France is one of the highest in the world. This rate does not always reflect women's desire, therefore it seemed important for us to meet women who delivered under epidural analgesia despite a contrary desire to. We wanted to understand their motivation, the course of events, as well as their feelings to support maternity and finally deficiency and satisfaction. This allows us to provide avenues for professionals to ensure proper support to each patient in accordance with her plan. We conducted a qualitative study with 10 women, on the basis of semi-structured interview, between October and December 2013 interview in an independent midwife's surgery. The main motivation survey among ten women is the fear of technical gesture of epidural analgesia, often in connection with the fulfillment of a culture Other motivations are the desire for a natural childbirth, considered the best workflow and delivery. The majority of women were satisfied with their delivery and their care, with the exception of two. All the women expressed shortages. Childbirth without epidural analgesia is a thoughtful choice. It is therefore important that professionals understand the different motivations to adapt their care to each patient. Childbirth is a unique moment for both the woman and the couple, it is not standard event.

Bandpass Antenna-Filter-Antenna Arrays for Filtering Applications at 40 GHz

International audience—The paper introduces new wideband Antenna-Filter-Antenna (AFA) uniform arrays that can be utilized as frequency selective surfaces (FSS) with low loss and sharp roll-off response, which are highly desirable characteristics in Q-Band. The design adopts a simple 3-layer single polarization structure consisting of two patch antennas and a resonator. Both simulations and measurements are used to characterize the performances of the proposed design. Overall results show 18.5 % 10-dB bandwidth. For the targeted band the insertion loss is less than 0.2 dB. Possible applications include quasi-optical amps, grid mixers and radomes for aircraft radar antennas
