The research was carried out with the aim of determining and assessing arm anaerobic power, leg anaerobic power and aerobic capacity in individuals with different branches of active sports. A total of 60 subjects engaged in active sports at Elite level in different branches participated in the study. These branches are; wrestling (group G, n:10), football (Group F, N = 10), bicycle (BI group, n = 10), boxing (BO group, n = 10), taekwondo (TA group, n = 10), and tennis (TE group, n = 10). The research was carried out in the performance Laboratory of Selçuk University School of Physical Education and Sports. For anaerobic measurements, two separate Monark branded Wingate ergometers for arm and leg were used. Shuttle run tests were performed for aerobic measurements. SPSS for Windows 15.0 package program was used in the calculation and assessment of the obtained data. The normality distribution of the measured parameters was determined by the Shapiro-Wilks test. One-way variance analysis (ANOVA) was used to determine the differences between sports branches. In determining the source of difference, the LCD and Dunnett's C were applied from Post-Hoc tests. Significance level was taken as 0.05 in this study. As a result of the leg Wingate ergometer test, the peak power values of wrestlers were found to be significantly different at p<0.05 level compared to those of football, boxing, taekwondo and tennis players. The results of arm Wingate ergometer test showed that the peak power values of the boxers and wrestlers were significantly different in p<0.05 compared to the athletes in other branches. When their MaxVO2 levels were examined, it was observed that the values of cyclists differ significantly in p<0.05 compared to the average of athletes in other branches except wrestlers.  Article visualizations

Republic of Turkey was established as a national state. The founders of the Republicwanted to build a nation of the society that inherited from the Ottoman in the period oftransition to national state. Therefore two instruments of the revolution were used togetherand as a result an of seculer nationalism was emerged. But liberalization in the multy partyperiod affected the nationalism. Republican People's Party convention in 1947 has tried toadopt a more conservative nationalism approach

Abstract Eco-friendly, Furniture, Recycle materials, Ecologic The importance of eco-friendly design productions have increased their worth in the world where natural sources are limited but human needs are unlimited. Obviously, with the improvement of industrial production, not only the furniture design affected, but also the environmental problems became more serious. In developed countries and in our country, the studies that support eco-friendly furniture design view have supported the products like those in both production and design process. The choice of material for furniture design is an important issue so that during the post process of the design, the chosen material is preferred as the most harmless one for the environment. The reason behind choosing ecological material is not to harm nature and human health. Therefore, natural and recyclable materials are used. This study aims to observe the furniture design that is being developed with ecological design view so that significant views and movements related to environment problems and design have been researched. The results show that, the furniture designs, which are made with ecological materials, have opened a new design approach for new material search and experimental designs

This research reveals traditional uses of wild plants found in Artuklu district in Mardin Province in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey. This study, conducted between 2017 and 2019, gathered information on the medicinal and other uses of plant species traditionally used in Artuklu and the local names of these plants. Face to face surveys were conducted with 183 people in 91 neighbourhoods. The ethnobotanical uses of 125 plants belonging to 35 families, which are traditionally underutilized by the local people, have been recorded. Our results showed that the highest Relative Frequency of Citation (RFC) was recorded for the species Lathyrus pseudocicera Pamp. (0.32). 1 taxon is from Stereocaulaceae of Fungi, 2 taxa are from Pteridophyta and the others 122 taxa are from Magnoliophyta. In the region, plants mostly belonging to the families Fabaceae (21 taxa), Lamiaceae (11 taxa), Asteraceae (10 taxa) and Brassicaceae (10 taxa) were determined. The recorded ethnobotanical uses are for: food (64), medicinal (40), fodder (12), children's toys (5) and various other purposes (4). Due to the fact that Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and Assyrian people have lived together in the Artuklu district, this ethnic diversity increased the use of wild plants and added richness. Preserving the coexistence of different cultural and religious groups in the research zone is essential for the maintenance of the rich wild plant local heritage

Objective:Surgical site infection (SSI) is one of the important factors leading to revision surgery after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Nurses play an important role in the diagnosis of risky patients. This study aimed to determine factors leading to the development of SSI that required revision surgery after TKA.Methods:This study was a retrospective case-control study conducted on the causes of SSI requiring revision surgery after TKA in a large hospital. Sociodemographic and medical characteristics of randomly sampled patients with revision (n=77) and the control group (n=77) were compared. Descriptive statistics, chi-square test, independent samples t-test, multiple logistic regression were used for data analysis. Results:The mean age of the patients in the revision and control groups were 68.11±7.62 and 66.48±5.17, respectively. The mean body mass index (BMI) (37.49±5.22) and operative duration (58.24±17.20 min) of the patients in the revision group were significantly higher, while their preoperative (36.36±0.24 ºC), intraoperative (36.30±0.26 ºC), and postoperative (36.56±0.39 ºC) body temperatures were significantly lower (p<0.05). It was determined that there was a correlation between patients’ ASA scores, duration of antibiotic use, preoperative intra-articular corticosteroid injection and the development of SSI (p<0.05), and that high BMI, long duration of surgery, and preoperative intra-articular corticosteroid injection were the most important factors causing revision surgery. Conclusion:In revision surgery due to the development of SSI, it can be concluded that high BMI, long duration of surgery, low body temperature, high ASA score, long duration of postoperative antibiotic use, and preoperative intra-articular corticosteroid injection are effective factors

OBJECTIVES: To determine the serum and tissue levels of markers of impaired oxidative metabolism and correlate these levels with the histopathology and Alvarado score of acute appendicitis patients. METHOD: Sixty-five acute appendicitis patients (mean age, 31.4±12.06 years; male/female, 30/35) and 30 healthy control subjects were studied. The Alvarado score was recorded. Serum samples were obtained before surgery and 12 hours postoperatively to examine the total antioxidant status, total oxidant status, paraoxonase, stimulated paraoxonase, arylesterase, catalase, myeloperoxidase, ceruloplasmin, oxidative stress markers (advanced oxidized protein products and total thiol level) and ischemia-modified albumin. Surgical specimens were also evaluated. RESULTS: The diagnoses were acute appendicitis (n = 37), perforated appendicitis (n = 8), phlegmonous appendicitis (n = 12), perforated+phlegmonous appendicitis (n = 4), or no appendicitis (n = 4). The Alvarado score of the acute appendicitis group was significantly lower than that of the perforated+phlegmonous appendicitis group (p = 0.004). The serum total antioxidant status, total thiol level, advanced oxidized protein products, total oxidant status, catalase, arylesterase, and ischemia-modified albumin levels were significantly different between the acute appendicitis and control groups. There was no correlation between the pathological extent of acute appendicitis and the tissue levels of the markers; additionally, there was no correlation between the tissue and serum levels of any of the parameters. CONCLUSIONS: The imbalance of oxidant/antioxidant systems plays a role in the pathogenesis acute appendicitis. The Alvarado score can successfully predict the presence and extent of acute appendicitis

Évolution rétrograde de Neospathodus au cours de la crise Permo - Triasique

The Permian - Triassic evolution of platform conodonts (Gondolellidae) consists mainly in developing the carina and the platform. During the sublethal environmental stress conditions subsequent to the Permian - Triassic extinction, the Wuchiapingian - Griesbachian Clarkina lineage is replaced by the primitive looking platform-lacking Dienerian - Aegean Neospathodus kummeli - Kashmirella timorensis lineage. Moreover, above Jinogondolella denticulata, end of the Capitanian Jinogondolella lineage, “Neospathodus” arcucristatus, an atavistic blade-like homeomorph that lacks a platform, underlies Protoclarkina crofti, of the base of the anagenetic Clarkina lineage. These primitive-looking forms are derived from their immediate ancestors by retrograde evolution, a phenomenon that has been described as proteromorphosis. Such events suggest that proteromorphosis occurs during periods of crisis, with sudden reappearance of homeomorphic forms that are atavistic representatives of the clade. The phenomenon is further substantiated by several additional retrogradations that pace the Triassic, a period prone to such events.L'évolution du Permien au Trias des conodontes à plate-forme (Gondolellidae) consiste principalement en développant la carène et la plate-forme.

Discovery of Triassic microfossils from the Buruanga Peninsula, Panai Island, North Palawan Block, Philippines

We found Middle and Late Triassic conodonts and radiolarians from the pelagic carbonates and successive siliceous sediments of the Buruanga Peninsula in Panai Island, North Palawan Block. The carbonate units, long estimated to be Jurassic, revealed late Anisian and late Norian. The pelagic limestone carapace of basalt was constrained within the conodont Gladigondolella tethydis – Paragondolella excelsa Zone (late Illyrian/early Fassanian). The successive bedded-chert unit starts from Fassanian (lower Ladinian) radiolarian Triassocampe spp. – Yeharaia spp. Zone. The early to late Norian conodont mixed faunas (from Ancyrogondolella quadrata Zone to Mockina bidentata Zone and Misikella hernsteini Zone) were extracted from the turbiditic clastic-carbonate unit that intertongues with the pelagic limestone/chert unit of latest Norian age (conodont Misikella hernsteini Zone)
