Objective: In the current study, we introduced a novel method for creating Sunitinib nanobubbles by incorporating it into chitosan-shelled nanobubbles. Methods: The Design Expert® programme randomly assigned around 13 experiments, and multiple regression analysis was used to statistically examine the data. The effect of the amount of sunitinib, amount of chitosan, amount of Epikuron 200, amount of palmitic acid and stirring speed, on percent encapsulation efficiency and drug load while maintain minimum particle size of nanobubbles as considered through a definitive screening plan. By placing limitations on the response parameters, the optimum formulation was created using a numerical optimization approach. The three improved formulations (Batch1 through Batch3) were assessed. Results: The findings show that the nanobubbles particle size of 78.56-82.42 nm with an encapsulation efficiency of 68.48-69.56 % and loading capacity of 23.88-25.02%. The quantity of sunitinib released from nanobubbles was much larger (96.52 percent) than that from the sunitinib solution within 24 h, according to an in vitro release profile of the medication using ultrasonography. The hemolytic activity of the blank nanobubbles and sunitinib-loaded nanobubbles was measured to assess their safety up to a concentration of 10 mg/ml. With erythrocytes, drug-loaded nanobubbles had a good safety profile. FTIR, DSC studies indicated no chemical interactions, TEM images revealed nanobubbles size of 70-100 nm and stability studies shows no significant changes. Conclusion: For contrast-enhanced tumour imaging and subsequent therapeutic administration, nanobubbles were found to be superior

Second-hand tobacco smoke as defined by WHO is the smoke emitted by a smoker or released from a burnt cigarette or any tobacco product. It is highly prevalent all over the globe but its serious health implications are often neglected by the public and the scientific community alike. Second-hand smoke has everlasting impact on all the body’s major organs, especially among the vulnerable population of children, pregnant ladies, people with chronic diseases and senior citizens. Although India started its war against this menace earlier than other counties, all its efforts remain bootless as its approach and implementation have a wide range of lacunae. This review aims to give a big picture of second-hand smoke, highlighting its pathophysiological changes in the body, socioeconomic impact, various strategies, and the gap that prevents these strategies from finding a favorable result in India. It becomes all the more important to reduce its impact owing to the increase in prevalence among youth reducing their vitality, derailing the society and the nation. It is recommended that the health authorities approach this health problem with utmost seriousness as a laid-back approach could welcome this silent killer’s known and unknown repercussions

    Implantable Drug Delivery Systems

    Get PDF
Traditional drug delivery methods provide very little, if any, control over the timing and pattern of drug release Medication concentration absorption at the point of action. Undefined medication concentration in plasma is a typical and obvious issue with the traditional dose method. Thus to overcome such problems efforts have been made by researchers and pharmaceutical scientists to the betterment of the drug delivery system and that lead to the development of the Novel Drug Delivery System (NDDS). NDDS is the approach and technology to deliver the drug in low concentration and follow the zero-order release of the drug in a controlled manner. Additionally, the NDDS's development results in the creation of an implantable drug delivery system (IDDS). a system for implantable medication delivery is a new approach of medicine delivery In this technique, the medicine is delivered under controlled conditions to the precise location where the implant is placed. The formulation, preparation, evaluation criteria, and future aspects of the implantable drug delivery system are the subjects of this study

Cross infection and self-protection, these two words are like a lurid to the health care professionals. A balance has to be maintained among those two words if not, it’s after affects areunpredictable. It is believed that even after following the code of practice, some elements such as the aerosols that are evolved during the use of high speed rotary instruments such as airotor and scaler are difficult to handle. Aerosols containing microbes from oral cavity of the patient are a risky source of infection. The best way to fight against these aerosols is to keep a distance from them. But it is not known how far these airborne microorganisms spread under various clinical environments. This article emphasizes the safe distance that has to bemaintained around each dental chair to prevent cross contamination

Gliclazide is practically insoluble in water and its bioavailability is limited by dissolution rate. To enhance the dissolution rate and bioavailability the present study was aimed to formulate solid dispersions using different water soluble polymers such as polyethylene glycol 4000 (PEG 4000), polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000) using fusion method and polyvinyl pyrrolidone K- 30 (PVP K 30) by solvent evaporation method. The interaction of gliclazide with the hydrophilic polymers was studied by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Fourier Transformation-Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-Ray diffraction analysis. Solid dispersions were characterized for physicochemical properties like drug content, surface morphology and dissolution studies. Various factors like type of polymer and ratio of the drug to polymer on the solubility and dissolution rate of the drug were also evaluated. Pharmacokinetic studies of optimized formulation were compared with pure drug and marketed formulation in wistar rats. The dissolution of the pure drug and solid dispersion prepared with PVP K 30 (1:1) showed 38.3 + 4.5 % and 95 + 5.2 % release respectively within 30 min. Peak plasma concentration of pure drug, solid dispersion (PVP K 30) and marketed formulation was found to be 8.76 + 2.5, 16.04 + 5.5 and 9.24 + 3.6 μg/ml respectively, from these results it was observed that there is two fold increase in peak plasma concentration compared to pure drug. Solid dispersion is an effective technique in increasing solubility, dissolution rate and bioavailability of the poorly soluble drugs. Keywords: Gliclazide; solubility; solid dispersion; pharmacokinetics; peak plasma concentration; half lif

    Get PDF
Polymeric composites have been widely used in various structural and thermal aerospace applications. Polymeric composites having high strength and high modulus reinforcement are ideally suited for lot of critical aerospace applications as structure is designed with high specific strength and high specific modulus. In case of launch vehicles/ missile one such application is design and manufacturing of solid rocket motor casing with polymeric composites as it give high performance and reduces inert weight of propulsion system. The high specific strength and high specific modulus of composite materials makes it ideal choice for designing the composite rocket motor case (CRMC). These are manufactured with filament winding process. As per ASTM D 2290 test method, the apparent tensile strength can be evaluated by preparing ring specimens from filament wound shell which simulates the hoop winding and cylindrical geometry of composite motor case. During flight in trajectory, the temperature on external surface of rocket motor will rise due to kinetic heating as result of aerodynamic drag. The mechanical properties of FRP composites degrades beyond certain temperature, depending primarily upon resin system and its glass transition temperature (Tg). In present work, the method of ring fabrication using filament winding is used to prepare test samples to experimentally test and evaluate apparent tensile strength with temperature of Carbon Epoxy composite. The tensile test at ambient is also done on specimens made from carbon Epoxy laminate using filament winding technique and are compared with ring test results.. The Glass Transition temperature (Tg) for Carbon Epoxy is also determined with Dry Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) techniqu
