Antecedentes Indígenas: problemáticas teórico-metodológicas das sínteses sobre a pré-história regional.

Uma síntese de pré-história regional deve ser estabelecida a partir das informações arqueológicas organizadas em um quadro espaço-temporal. Devem ser destacados não apenas os dados obtidos a partir da análise dos vestígios materiais em presença nos sítios, mas igualmente reconstituídos os momentos de transição das paleopaisagens e das culturas. Os padrões de subsistência, a exploração das fontes de matéria prima, as tipologias dos artefatos, os símbolos da arte, os processos adaptativos, integração e conflito, são alguns dos diversos aspectos que devem ser estudados, a partir de modelos que admitam múltiplas variáveis e uma causalidade múltipla. O necessário rigor conceituai e superação das interpretações simplistas, não impedem que inúmeros problemas de ordem teórico-metodológica sejam ainda de difícil solução, como se evidencia neste estudo.A synthesis of regional pre-history must be established starting from archaeological information organized in a space-time framework. Not only the data obtained from the analysis of material traces present at the sites should receive attention, but also equally the moments of transition of the paleo-sceneries and cultures should be reconstituted. Patterns of subsistence, exploration of sources of raw material, the typology of artifacts, the art symbols, the adaptive processes, integration and conflict, are some of the diverse aspects to be studied, from models which admit multiple variables and a manifold causality. The necessary conceptual rigor and superation of simplistic interpretations not withstanding, inumerous problems of theoretical-methodological character will still be difficult to solve, as this study makes clear

Las formas del paisaje en la colonización del sur de Brasil

Este trabajo de investigación no pretende romper con el discurso tradicional de los historiadores sobre el poblamiento de la meseta de la región sur de Brasil, sino ampliar su visión y cambiar el foco de sus análisis. La arqueología de las formas del paisaje rompe inicialmente con el estudio de los documentos tradicionales, para buscar informaciones en las fotografías obtenidas por satélites. La arqueología no se limita a describir una serie de acontecimientos históricos, sino que se propone resolver un nuevo problema en esta historia de larga duración. Al definir su objeto de estudio, el investigador debe igualmente mostrar sus fuentes, las que no siempre son apropiadas para satisfacer su curiosidad, sin las reflexiones teóricas pertinentes. Si queremos establecer un nuevo cuestionario de investigación y solucionar los problemas que surgen, debemos buscar los materiales pertinentes. Es preciso organizarlos, compararlos y permutarlos con las informaciones históricas ya conocidas para poder describir e interpretar el fenómeno estudiado a partir de una nueva óptica (Furet 1982). Como primer paso de una investigación en curso, pretendemos usar un abordaje contextual de carácter crítico y reflexivo.The main objective is to present the first results, though still partial, of the studies on the shapes evidenced in landscapes: topographic lines, immigrants’ trails, and forms of exploitation of the new lands. The historical context is the settlement process in Southern Brazil, that of the European colonization from Germany and Italy during the 19th century. The perspective of our research is the triple clash of this new settlement with an unknown nature, with native groups still embedded in prehistory, and with Iberian groups (particularly Portuguese) that organized at a local level the colonial society throughout the Modern Age. The analysis of shapes of the ancient landscape in the midst of the subtropical forest is an extremely difficult task. It calls for a complex approach of comparison among the data of several primary sources: photo interpretation, historical texts, material culture, iconography and specialized bibliography.Fil: Alvarez Kern, Arno.
