Discrete symmetry's chains and links between integrable equations

The discrete symmetry's dressing chains of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLS) and Davey-Stewartson equations (DS) are consider. The modified NLS (mNLS) equation and the modified DS (mDS) equations are obtained. The explicitly reversible Backlund auto-transformations for the mNLS and mDS equations are constructed. We demonstrate discrete symmetry's conjugate chains of the KP and DS models. The two-dimensional generalization of the P4 equation are obtained.Comment: 20 page

Classical and Quantum Integrability of 2D Dilaton Gravities in Euclidean space

Euclidean dilaton gravity in two dimensions is studied exploiting its representation as a complexified first order gravity model. All local classical solutions are obtained. A global discussion reveals that for a given model only a restricted class of topologies is consistent with the metric and the dilaton. A particular case of string motivated Liouville gravity is studied in detail. Path integral quantisation in generic Euclidean dilaton gravity is performed non-perturbatively by analogy to the Minkowskian case.Comment: 27 p., LaTeX, v2: included new refs. and a footnot

    Quantization and spacetime topology

We consider classical and quantum dynamics of a free particle in de Sitter's space-times with different topologies to see what happens to space-time singularities of removable type in quantum theory. We find analytic solution of the classical dynamics. The quantum dynamics is solved by finding an essentially self-adjoint representation of the algebra of observables integrable to the unitary representations of the symmetry group of each considered gravitational system. The dynamics of a massless particle is obtained in the zero-mass limit of the massive case. Our results indicate that taking account of global properties of space-time enables quantization of particle dynamics in all considered cases.Comment: Class. Singular Liouville fields and spiky strings in \rr^{1,2} and SL(2,\rr)

The closed string dynamics in \rr^{1,2} and SL(2,\rr) is studied within the scheme of Pohlmeyer reduction. In both spaces two different classes of string surfaces are specified by the structure of the fundamental quadratic forms. The first class in \rr^{1,2} is associated with the standard lightcone gauge strings and the second class describes spiky strings and their conformal deformations on the Virasoro coadjoint orbits. These orbits correspond to singular Liouville fields with the monodromy matrixes ±I\pm I. The first class in SL(2,\rr) is parameterized by the Liouville fields with vanishing chiral energy functional. Similarly to \rr^{1,2}, the second class in SL(2,\rr) describes spiky strings, related to the vacuum configurations of the SL(2,\rr)/U(1) coset model.Comment: 37 p. 6 fi

Quantum Group Structure and Local Fields in the Algebraic Approach to 2D Gravity

This review contains a summary of work by J.-L. Gervais and the author on the operator approach to 2d gravity. Special emphasis is placed on the construction of local observables -the Liouville exponentials and the Liouville field itself - and the underlying algebra of chiral vertex operators. The double quantum group structure arising from the presence of two screening charges is discussed and the generalized algebra and field operators are derived. In the last part, we show that our construction gives rise to a natural definition of a quantum tau function, which is a noncommutative version of the classical group-theoretic representation of the Liouville fields by Leznov and Saveliev.Comment: 38 pages, LaTex file. Coherent state quantization of a particle in de Sitter space

We present a coherent state quantization of the dynamics of a relativistic test particle on a one-sheet hyperboloid embedded in a three-dimensional Minkowski space. The group SO_0(1,2) is considered to be the symmetry group of the system. Our procedure relies on the choice of coherent states of the motion on a circle. The coherent state realization of the principal series representation of SO_0(1,2) seems to be a new result.Comment: Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, vol. 37, in pres

Nuclear dependence of the transverse-single-spin asymmetry for forward neutron production in polarized pp++AA collisions at sNN=200\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200 GeV

    Get PDF
During 2015 the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) provided collisions of transversely polarized protons with Au and Al nuclei for the first time, enabling the exploration of transverse-single-spin asymmetries with heavy nuclei. Large single-spin asymmetries in very forward neutron production have been previously observed in transversely polarized pp++pp collisions at RHIC, and the existing theoretical framework that was successful in describing the single-spin asymmetry in pp++pp collisions predicts only a moderate atomic-mass-number (AA) dependence. In contrast, the asymmetries observed at RHIC in pp++AA collisions showed a surprisingly strong AA dependence in inclusive forward neutron production. The observed asymmetry in pp++Al collisions is much smaller, while the asymmetry in pp++Au collisions is a factor of three larger in absolute value and of opposite sign. The interplay of different neutron production mechanisms is discussed as a possible explanation of the observed AA dependence.Comment: 315 authors, 8 pages, 4 figures, 1 table. v2 is version accepted for publication in Phys.
