Este trabajo trata sobre la actuación del BCE en la crisis con la medidas convencionales y no convencionales tomadas, así como el efecto de las mismas. Además se realiza una comparación con otra entidad de rasgos similares como puede ser la FED. Por otro lado pero siguiendo en la misma tónica se realiza un estudio financiero de como afecto las medidas mencionadas con anterioridad a las entidades de depósito, cogiendo para ello el Banco Santander.<br /

XMM-Newton observations of NGC 3268 in the Antlia Galaxy Cluster: characterization of a hidden group of galaxies at z ~0.41

We report on a detailed X-ray study of the extended emission of the intracluster medium (ICM) around NGC3268 in the Antlia Cluster of galaxies, together with a characterization of an extended source in the field, namely a background cluster of galaxies at z ~ 0.41, which was previously accounted as an X-ray point source. The spectral properties of the extended emission of the gas present in Antlia were studied using data from the XMM-Newton satellite, complemented with optical images of Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) Blanco telescope, to attain for associations of the optical sources with the X-ray emission. The XMM-Newton observations show that the intracluster gas is concentrated in a region centred in one of the main galaxies of the cluster, NGC3268. By means of a spatially resolved spectral analysis, we derived abundances of the ICM plasma. We found a wall-like feature in the north-east direction, where the gas is characterized by a lower temperature with respect to the rest of the ICM. Furthermore, using combined optical observations, we inferred the presence of an elliptical galaxy in the centre of the extended X-ray source considered as a background cluster, which favours this interpretation.Instituto de Astrofísica de La PlataInstituto Argentino de Radioastronomí

Diseño de un receptor satelital para recolección de datos remotos

En este trabajo se realiza el estudio de un sistema de comunicaciones satelitales utilizado para la recolección de datos remotos provenientes desde la tierra (DCS del inglés data collection systems). En las primeras secciones se hace una introducción a este sistema y se dan algunas especificaciones del mismo. Posteriormente se diseña el receptor digital considerando cada uno de los bloques que lo componen, y se hacen las simulaciones correspondientes. Limits on excited tau leptons masses from leptonic tau decays

We study the effects induced by excited leptons on the leptonic tau decay at one loop level. Using a general effective lagrangian approach to describe the couplings of the excited leptons, we compute their contributions to the leptonic decays and use the current experimental values of the branching ratios to put limits on the mass of excited states and the substructure scale.Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures, to be published in Phys. Influence of insole material density in the stability of patients with prosthetic unilateral transtibial amputation

People with lower limb amputation present greater displacements of their centre of gravity in a static situation than able-bodied individuals, as they depend on visual information to a greater extent, which implies an altered stability pattern. The efficacy of different hardness of plantar support to help maintain stability has not yet been determined. The aim of the present study is to assess stability in people with unilateral transtibial amputation with prosthesis in a static situation with insoles of different degrees of hardness and visual conditions with respect to the able-bodied population. For this purpose, 25 patients with amputation and 25 able-bodied individuals were included in both groups, postural stability was assessed by stabilometry. This assessment was carried out under normal conditions (on the floor of the dynamometric platform with eyes open), and under altered conditions (with the interposition of different materials such as plantar support: rigid and soft insoles and, eyes shut). Three variables were considered to assess stability: length of movement of the barycenter (mm), lateral velocity (mm/sg) and anterior velocity (mm/sg). All of them were analysed with the patient in static on the dynamometric platform. The results showed statistically significant differences between the two groups, (amputees and controls) with less stability in the amputee group (p < 0.05) when analysing the variables of length of movement of the barycenter, lateral velocity and anterior velocity. Amputee patients with open eyes exhibited greater stability than those with closed eyes. The hard insoles improved the stability data in amputees (length of movement of the barycenter and anterior velocity) with respect to the barefoot condition, and the soft insoles showed less stability than the patients with hard insoles, or than the barefoot patients. From the results obtained in this study, we can conclude that the PP-DWST 4 mm rigid insoles improve static stability in people with amputation. However, soft insoles impair stability and are therefore discouraged

Barley-ß-glucans reduce systemic inflammation, renal injury and aortic calcification through ADAM17 and neutral-sphingomyelinase2 inhibition

In chronic kidney disease (CKD), hyperphosphatemia-induced inflammation aggravates vascular calcification (VC) by increasing vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) osteogenic differentiation, ADAM17-induced renal and vascular injury, and TNFα-induction of neutral-sphingomyelinase2 (nSMase2) to release pro-calcifying exosomes. This study examined anti-inflammatory β-glucans efficacy at attenuating systemic inflammation in health, and renal and vascular injury favoring VC in hyperphosphatemic CKD. In healthy adults, dietary barley β-glucans (Bβglucans) reduced leukocyte superoxide production, inflammatory ADAM17, TNFα, nSMase2, and pro-aging/pro-inflammatory STING (Stimulator of interferon genes) gene expression without decreasing circulating inflammatory cytokines, except for γ-interferon. In hyperphosphatemic rat CKD, dietary Bβglucans reduced renal and aortic ADAM17-driven inflammation attenuating CKD-progression (higher GFR and lower serum creatinine, proteinuria, kidney inflammatory infiltration and nSMase2), and TNFα-driven increases in aortic nSMase2 and calcium deposition without improving mineral homeostasis. In VSMC, Bβglucans prevented LPS- or uremic serum-induced rapid increases in ADAM17, TNFα and nSMase2, and reduced the 13-fold higher calcium deposition induced by prolonged calcifying conditions by inhibiting osteogenic differentiation and increases in nSMase2 through Dectin1-independent actions involving Bβglucans internalization. Detection of human Metapneumovirus infection in children under 18 years old hospitalized in Lima-Peru

Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a negative single-stranded RNA virus. Infection by hMPV mainly affects the pediatric population and can cause upper or lower respiratory tract pathologies which can develop life threating complications. This study was carried out between 2009 and 2010 in a high complexity national hospital in Lima, Peru. The time frame corresponds to the pandemic of influenza A H1N1. Methods. A prospective study was performed between September 2009 and September 2010. Patients with a clinical diagnosis suggestive of an acute respiratory infection were included. RT-PCR was utilized to attain the amplification and identification of the hMPV. Results.A total of 539 samples were analyzed from patients with a clinical context suggestive of an acute respiratory tract infection. Of these samples 73, (13.54%) were positive for hMPV. Out of the positive cases, 63% were under one year old, and increased to nearly 80% when considering children younger than two years old. Cough was the most frequent symptom presented by our population with a number of 62 cases (84.93%). Viral seasonality was also established, noting its predominance during the months of summer in the southern hemisphere. The infection by hMPV has an important prevalence in Peru. It mainly affects children under one year old and should be considered an important differential diagnosis in a patient with an acute respiratory infection.Postprint (author's final draft

Modelo prolab: Disability Empowerment, una propuesta sostenible para mejorar las oportunidades de empleo de la población con discapacidad en la ciudad de Lima Metropolitana

La empleabilidad para personas con discapacidad física representa una oportunidad de crecimiento y beneficio para todos, con impacto directo en la empresa cliente, la comunidad, las personas con discapacidad en sí y colaboradores en general. No solo mejora la reputación corporativa, sino que promueve el trabajo en equipo, facilita un compromiso mayor con los valores, se aprende a ser más inclusivo y a aceptar la diversidad de nuestra sociedad. La propuesta, Disability Empowerment, identifica cual es el problema social relevante, el universo de personas discapacitadas en el Perú y cómo encaja este proyecto, la oferta para personas con discapacidad física, la competencia existente, a la vez que se llevan a cabo las interacciones necesarias con clientes y usuarios para definir la deseabilidad, usabilidad, factibilidad y viabilidad, las mismas que son fundamentadas mediante experimentos y simulaciones cuyos resultados son compartidos como parte de la investigación. Asimismo, es presentado el modelo de negocio basado en RSE y alineado a los ODS, a la vez que son desarrollados los planes de marketing, operativo y financiero que soportaran el servicio. Los resultados obtenidos dan un VAN de S/ 3,968,950.00 y un VANS de S/2,761,673.53.00 Motivación, afán de superación y esfuerzo, eso son valores de las personas con discapacidad que se alienan con los propósitos de vida de los miembros del equipo. Y más allá de las cuestiones puramente económicas, las empresas, como Disability Empowerment, favorecen la empleabilidad de trabajadores con discapacidad contribuyen decisivamente a construir una sociedad más cohesionada y justa.Employability for people with physical disabilities represents an opportunity for growth and benefit for all, with a direct impact on the company itself, the community, people with disabilities themselves and employees in general.
