Body, culture and vulnerability in contemporary society: a case study of liver transplantation

En el presente artículo se exponen las reflexiones vinculadas al cuerpo y a la vulnerabilidad del ser humano a partir del estudio de caso de un trasplante hepático con donante vivo. La receptora del hígado es la madre del autor del trabajo y el donante el hermano. Todo ello forma parte de un acercamiento metodológico que podemos designar como etnografía familiar. Más allá de una perspectiva biomédica del proceso, ha interesante explorar las dimensiones simbólicas del cuerpo desde el punto de vista de la subjetividad. Se entiende al paciente, no como alguien pasivo sino como alguien que toma decisiones sobre su vida, sobre su cuerpo.In this article the reflections related to the body and human vulnerability from a case study of living donor liver transplantation are discussed. The receiving liver is the mother of the author of the work and the donor’s brother. This is part of a methodological approach that can be designated as family ethnography. Beyond a biomedical perspective of the process, it has interesting exploring the symbolic dimensions of bodies from the point of view of subjectivity. The patient is understood, not as someone passive but as someone who makes decisions about his life, about his body.Neste artigo são discutidas as reflexões relacionadas ao corpo e vulnerabilidade humana a partir de um estudo de caso do transplante hepático intervivos. O fígado recebe é a mãe o autor da obra e irmão do doador. Isso faz parte de uma abordagem metodológica que pode ser designado como etnografia família. Além de uma perspectiva biomédica do processo, tem interessante explorar as dimensões simbólicas de corpos a partir do ponto de vista da subjetividade. The integrated reporting: A presentation of the current state of art and aspects of integrated reporting that need further development

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to synthesize what is the emerging field of integrated reporting, with particular emphasis in the International Integrated Reporting Council, and outline a list of items for future research in this area. Design/methodology/approach: The approach is to outline a presentation of integrated reporting (IR), and make a review of the implications for the research agenda of the most important items. Findings: The need for quality researchers to address a number of pressing challenges posed by the rapid development of IR policies and practices. Research limitations/implications: The paper provide insights into issues and aspects of integrated reporting that need further development and need robust evidence to help inform improvements in policy and practice. Practical implications: Highlight how companies may benefit from integrated reporting in response to stakeholders' calls for enhanced disclosure of environmental, social, governance and other non financial information. Social implications: The main social implication is to promote the wider public interest of improving the relevance of information for decision-making, for all stakeholders, and allow greater efficiency in the allocation of financial and other resources and in adding public value. Originality/value: This paper offers a general view on a subject that is a challenge for entities oriented to the implementation of sustainability in their values and also in their reporting

Pedagogia del cos simbòlic. El cos com a valor emergent entre els joves

El artículo aborda desde una perspectiva socio-antropológica el cuerpo humano. Los cambios paradigmáticos sucedidos en disciplinas artísticas así como en el campo de las humanidades permiten una lectura simbólica del cuerpo humano. Es justamente esta dimensión simbólica que nos permite presentarlo como un valor emergente en las identidades de los jóvenes; identidades que pasan por transformar el cuerpo a través de prácticas como la cirugía estética, los piercings y tatuajes y la post-humanización corporal. La pedagogía del cuerpo simbólico permite acompañar a los jóvenes en este proceso de transformación corporal. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Cet article traite de l’étude du corps humain dans une perspective socioanthropologique. Les changements de contenus survenus dans les disciplines artistiques et dans le champ des sciences humaines permettent une étude symbolique du corps humain. C’est justement cette dimension symbolique qui nous permet de percevoir ce même corps comme une valeur émergente dans la constitution des identités différenciées des jeunes; identités qui passent par l’appropriation du corps à travers des pratiques telles que la chirurgie esthétique, le piercing, les tatouages et la postérieure humanisation du corps. La pédagogie de l’espace symbolique du corps permet d’accompagner les jeunes dans ce processus de transformation corporelle.This article takes a socioanthropological look at the human body. The paradigmatic changes taking place in many artistic disciplines as well in the field of the humanities enable us to undertake a symbolic reading of the human body. It is this symbolic dimension that allows us to present it as an emerging value in the identities of young people; identities that range from transforming the body through such practices as plastic surgery, body piercings and tattoos and the post-humanisation of the body. Sustainability reporting using integrated reporting and sustainable development goals (sdg). the case of ibex 35 companies

Abstract: In this paper there is a general glimpse in the Integrated Reporting and in the Sustainable Development Goals as tools for sustainability reporting. In the second part we offer an analysis of the application of both guidelines in the case of the companies included in the IBEX 35 of the Spanish stock exchange market. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to outline two general landmarks of sustainability reporting: Integrated Reporting (IR) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and offer a general glimpse about their use in the case of the companies included in the IBEX 35. Design/methodology/approach: The approach is to outline a presentation of IR and SDG, and make a review of their use for a set of outstanding Spanish companies. Cossos que parlen: a l’entorn de la diversitat funcional i el trasplantament

L’article analitza els cossos amb diversitat funcional i els que han estat trasplantats des de la seva condició de cossos que parlen. El fet que puguem fer una lectura dels cossos des de la seva dimensió simbòlica ens obre un ampli ventall de possibilitats interpretatives més enllà de la comprensió d'aquests cossos com a no comunicants. L’article estudia de manera separada les característiques que configuren aquestes dimensions, tant pel que fa als cossos amb diversitat funcional com als cossos que han estat trasplantats, però aporta elements globals per a la comprensió conjunta.Mots clau: diversitat funcional, cos, corpografia, trasplantament, donació d’òrgans.Resumen El artículo analiza los cuerpos con diversidad funcional y aquellos que han sido trasplantados desde su condición de cuerpos que hablan. El hecho de que podamos hacer una lectura de los cuerpos desde su dimensión simbólica nos abre un amplio abanico de posibilidades interpretativas más allá de la comprensión de los mismos como no comunicantes. El artículo estudia de forma separada las características que configuran estas dimensiones, tanto en relación con los cuerpos con diversidad funcional como con los que han sido trasplantados, pero aporta elementos globales para su comprensión conjunta. Palabras clave: diversidad funcional, cuerpo, Corpografías, trasplante, donación de órganos.AbstractThe paper examines the bodies with disabilities and those who have been transplanted from  the condition of bodies speak. The fact that we can do a reading of the bodies fromtheir symbolic dimension opens a wide range of interpretative possibilities beyond the understanding of themselves as not communicating. The article examines separately the characteristics that make up these dimensions, as regards the bodies with functional diversity as the bodies that have been transplanted, but overall provides elements forunderstanding the joint.
