    One of the technological components to attain soybean productivity increase is using a modern varieties. This research aims to evaluate the introduction of a new modern variety of soybean, such as Bromo variety, in Klego Subdistrict, Boyolali District, Central Java on first crop season 1998/1999 season. The objectives of the research were to know the effect of the introduction Bromo variety of soybean on soybean productivity, profit and employment, as well as to know the production efficiency. This research used a cross-sectional data of 50 sample farmers consisted of 25 Bromo variety farmers and 25 Local variety farmers. To know the effect of Bromo variety introduction on productivity, profit and employment, it was used regression analysis with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. To test the production efficiency of inputs use was used allocative efficiency test. The results showed that Bromo variety introduction were able to increase productivity 501.71 kg/ha, to increase profit Rp 1,852,370/ha and to increase employment 14.25 mandays/ha. The allocative efficiency test showed that the farmers of Bromo variety and the farmers of Local variety hadn\u27t allocated their inputs efficiently yet.     FARMERS PERCEPTION, ATTITUDE, AND SATISFACTION LEVEL OF SOYBEAN HIGH YIELDING VARIETIES IN KEBUMEN DISTRIC, CENTRAL JAVA

    Kedelai impor mendominasi kedelai nasional selama lebih dari dua dekade, untuk mengurangi ketergantungan kedelai impor dibutuhkan upaya untuk memaksimalkan produksi dan produktivitas kedelai nasional diantaranya melalui inovasi teknologi. Varietas unggul kedelai berpotensi hasil tinggi merupakan salah satu teknologi yang paling mudah diadopsi oleh petani. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi, sikap dan kepuasan petani terhadap varietas unggul kedelai. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan metode survei terhadap petani kedelai sebanyak 32 orang di Kecamatan Puring Kabupaten Kebumen. Varietas unggul kedelai yang diteliti yaitu Varietas Grobogan, Anjasmoro dan Gema. Atribut varietas unggul kedelai yang dievaluasi meliputi keragaan tanaman, produksi, harga jual kedelai, kemudahan memperoleh benih, umur panen, kesesuaian ukuran biji dengan permintaan pasar dan ketahanan terhadap hama-penyakit. Persepsi petani dipetakan menggunakan perceptual mapping, sikap petani dianalisis menggunakan Model Multiatribut Fishbein dan kepuasan petani dianalisis menggunakan Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). Hasil pengkajian menunjukkan bahwa petani memiliki persepsi, sikap dan kepuasan yang lebih baik terhadap Varietas Grobogan dan Varietas Anjasmoro dibandingkan Varietas Gema. Varietas Grobogan dan Anjasmoro dipersepsikan lebih unggul karena memiliki keragaan tanaman yang lebih menarik, produksi lebih tinggi, benih lebih mudah diperoleh dan lebih tahan terhadap hama- penyakit. Petani menunjukkan sikap positif dan mau membudidayakan Varietas Grobogan dan Anjasmoro dengan skor Multiatribut Fishbein sebesar 45,63 dan 43,93, sedangkan Varietas Gema hanya memperoleh skor sebesar 39,64. Petani memilki tingkat kepuasan lebih tinggi terhadap Varietas Grobogan dan Anjasmoro sebesar 52,11% dan 50,37% dibandingkan Varietas Gema sebesar 44.66%.Imported soybeans have dominated national soybeans for more than two decades. To reduce dependence on imported soybeans, efforts are needed to maximize national soybean production and productivity through technological innovation. Soybean high yielding varieties are one of the easiest technologies to be adopted by farmers. The assessment aims to evaluate perceptions, attitudes and satisfaction of farmers with the attributes of superior soybean varieties. The assessment was carried out using a survey method of soybean farmers totaling 32 people in The Kebumen Regency. High yielding soybeans varieties studied is Grobogan, Anjasmoro and Gema varieties. Attributes evaluated are plant performance, yield, soybeans price selling, easier seeds to obtain, harvest age, the suitability of seed size to demand and pest resistance. Farmers’ perceptions were mapped using perceptual mapping, farmer attitudes were analyzed using the Fishbein Multiattribute Model and farmer satisfaction was analyzed using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The results of the study showed that farmers had better perceptions, attitudes and satisfaction towards Grobogan and Anjasmoro varieties compared to Gema variety. Grobogan and Anjasmoro varieties were perceived as more excellent because they had more attractive plant diversity, higher production, easier seeds to obtain and more resistance to pests-diseases. Farmers showed a more accepting attitude to cultivating Grobogan and Anjasmoro varieties with Fishbein Multiattribute scores of 45.63 and 43.93, while the Gema variety only scored 39.64. Farmers have a higher level of satisfaction with Grobogan and Anjasmoro variety with CSI values of 52.11% and 50.37% compared to the Gema variety of 44.66%

    Respon Petani terhadap Kegiatan Sekolah Lapang Mandiri Benih Kedelai

    Kedelai merupakan salah satu tanaman pangan strategis di Indonesia. Permintaan kedelai secara nasional belum mampu tercukupi dari produksi dalam negeri, sehingga harus mendatangkan tambahan dari negara lain. Pemerintah mulai fokus untuk menggenjot produksi kedelai melalui peningkatan produktivitas, perluasan areal tanam dan peningkatan indeks pertanaman. Dukungan inovasi teknologi di bidang perbenihan kedelai sangat diperlukan, utamanya dukungan ketersediaan varietas unggul baru (VUB) yang memiliki potensi hasil tinggi. Selain itu dukungan para penangkar atau produsen benih kedelai yang bersedia menyediakan benih kedelai bermutu secara kontinyu juga sangat dibutuhkan. Upaya yang ditempuh pemerintah diantaranya melalui program Desa Mandiri Benih (DMB) padi dan kedelai. Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) Jawa Tengah mengambil peran sebagai pendamping, melalui metode Sekolah Lapang Mandiri Benih Kedelai (SL-MBK). Kegiatan pendampingan SL-MBK dilaksanakan di Desa Tersidi Lor, Kecamatan Pituruh Kabupaten Purworejo bekerjasama dengan Kelompok Tani Sri Makmur. Kajian respon dilakukan untuk mendapatkan umpan balik terhadap kegiatan ini. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa 84,85% dari 33 orang petani responden memberikan respon yang positif atau baik, artinya kegiatan SL-MBK memberikan manfaat dan tambahan pengetahuan baru

    Preferensi Petani Terhadap Kedelai Varietas Grobogan dan Prospek Pengembangannya di Kabupaten Klaten

    Varietas merupakan komponen teknologi budidaya yang mampu meningkatkan produktivitas dan paling mudah diadopsi. Penelitian preferensi petani terhadap kedelai varietas Grobogan dan prospek pengembangannya di Kabupaten Klaten bertujuan untuk : (1) mengetahui preferensi petani terhadap kedelai varietas Grobogan, dan (2) mengetahui prospek pengembangan kedelai varietas Grobogan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah before-after  pada 30 petani sebagai responden. Metode pengambilan sampel dengan purposive random sampling  terhadap 30 responden yang terlibat pada kegiatan perbenihan kedelai MT III tahun 2015 di Kabupaten Klaten. Untuk mengetahui preferensi petani terhadap kedelai varietas Grobogan digunakan Skala Likert terhadap tujuh komponen preferensi dengan membandingkan varietas kedelai yang biasa ditanam petani pada tahun sebelumnya. Skala Likert dibagi dalam tiga kategori preferensi yaitu suka, biasa dan tidak suka. Untuk mengetahui prospek pengembangan kedelai varietas Grobogan digunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) preferensi petani terhadap kedelai varietas Grobogan secara umum termasuk dalam kategori suka. Komponen preferensi yang termasuk suka adalah keragaan tanaman, umur tanaman, ukuran biji, ketahanan terhadap OPT, produksi, dan harga jual. Sedangkan komponen preferensi yang termasuk tidak suka adalah kemudahan memperoleh benih, (2) prospek pengembangan kedelai varietas Grobogan baik, karena a) preferensi petani suka, b) meningkatkan produktivitas, c) pemasaran mudah, d) meningkatkan pendapatan, dan e) potensi luas areal.     Plant Performance and Added Value of Soybean Farming by Tillage and Plant Spacing

    This study aimed to determine plant performance and added value of soybean farming by applying tillage and plant spacing. This study was conducted by two treatments, namely treatment I: no-tillage and scatter planting system on soybean farming, and treatment II: tillage and plant spacing on soybean farming. Primary data were in the form of plant performance, production, and soybean farming. The data were analyzed descriptively using average plant growth and productivity, RCR, BCR, and MBCR. The results of the study showed that the soybean farming with tillage and plant spacing resulted in better growth, a higher number of branches, number of pods, and productivity than the existing farmer. The soybean productivity increased by 19.73%. Tillage and plant spacing were proven to provide added value, i.e., increasing farmers' income by IDR 3,808,000/ha (an increase of 19.72%) and farmers' profits by IDR 2,523,682/ha (an increase of 26.61%). Even though the proportion of costs increased by 13.07%, there was a higher increase in the proportion of profits by 21.01%. The MBCR value of 1.96 showed that when the farming cost increased by IDR 1,000 due to tillage and plant spacing, the profit increased by IDR 1,960
