We present the dissertation in which new three-dimensional products had been developed and tested in Jacquard weaving through double fabrics with application in Fashion Accessories - handbags and belts.
The proposal of this work result of the current situation in developed countries, where the textile articles production is unfavourable. This situation is due to the cheap labour offered by the countries that are called the third world. In the presence of this, we bet in the textile products’ differentiation and personalization. We point out the Design’s importance in the
Textile Industry and the excellent contribution of the Designer for the active maintenance of
the sector; importance that reveals an harmonious balance between art and technology, and that will result in products with pleasant characteristics to the consumer.
Considering Fashion, its evolutions and trends as a sector of market’s great potentiality that creates many jobs’ opportunities in the whole world, we understand that the development of
this subject is important through this research.
The drawings’ complexity in Jacquard fabrics, which result of constant studies in search of possibilities to achieve the intended effect, make the Jacquard fabrics into a Textile Industry’s speciality, being the creation of more elaborated drawings possible through them; what explains the choice of developing this research in this speciality.
The combination of these subjects, Design, Fashion and Fabrics, especially Jacquard fabrics combined with the already existing technologies in the industries, led to this research. This idea gave rise to the 3D pieces’ development in Jacquard weaving, especially handbags and belts. It also purposed to test the resistance to the links’ traction, and to consider the possibility of costs and time reduction in the production process of these personalized articles.
The Fashion Accessories Collection was conceived with the development of the intended process in Jacquard fabrics, which were used as samples for the essays’ accomplishment. The Collection, which draws its thematic inspiration from Brazil and its cultural aspects, is named as “Collection Identity Brazil”.
It is believed that this research will contribute to the development of new 3D products in Jacquard weaving by means of technologies that are available in industries. Furthermore, it
will contribute to understand the Design’s importance in the personalized articles’ creation, which set a high value upon the Textile Industry’s products

In Brazil the services of electricity supply, with few exceptions, are provided exclusively by public and private companies, in operations regulated by specific legal provisions and concession contracts or permits. These aspects motivated the implementation of a research objective of this article, to evaluate the existence or not of a relation between the investment andservice quality. For this purpose data was collected were analyzed by statistical method of correlation. The results indicated a low correlation between the indicators used, allowing to conclude that so far, the investments in P&D may not be showing any significant impact on service quality.</div
The Bingo Project: Rethinking Gambling Regulation
Permission to include this report in the Institute research repository granted by Sarah Slowe, University of Kent on January 30, 2017.Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, one of the UK’s main academic research funders, the three-year project selected four case studies of bingo in England and Wales, Canada, Brazil, and online in the European Union. We wanted to gain a good overview of the diverse ways in which bingo is played (online versus land-based; in commercial halls versus in charitable facilities), and of legal approaches (e.g. criminal prohibition, licensing as charitable activity; licensing as
commercial activity).YesEconomic and Social Research Council [U.K.

Interpreting Global Urban-Rural Political Divides: A Literature Review
Is the familiar urban-rural political divide a universal phenomenon, or is it conditional on institutional, cultural, or historical factors? In places where such a divide does exist, does it always manifest as a contest between progressive urban centers and conservative rural areas, or is this polarity sometimes reversed? Drawing on the insights of political scientists, sociologists, and historians, a review of the literature suggests resilient patterns of political geography that have their roots in the cleavage formation processes of the 19th and early 20th centuries. In particular, the legacy of agrarian politics and patterns of land tenure during this critical period play an important (yet often overlooked) role in the degree and character of the urban-rural political continuum. Generally speaking, in countries where the expansion of suffrage empowered peasant smallholders who had not been co-opted by anti-statist or traditionalist factions, leftist (or at least class-conscious) agrarian movements paved the way for an unusually high degree of rural left-wing and centrist party support in the modern era
The Language of Brazilian Modernism: a comparative perspective
The Brazilian Modernists did not constitute a unified movement at the beginning of the 20th century, nor did they have a consolidated agenda of themes to be dealt with or widely shared techniques to deal with them or even a unified vision about language. Throughout the first decades of that century, the Modernists formed different groups (some of which defined themselves through manifestos) and sought, in different ways, to contrast what they were doing with what previous literary generations had done, sometimes rejecting and at other times acknowledging their relationship with the previous literary tradition. As far as the issue of language is concerned, it is not usual to bring a comparatist dimension to discussions of language in Brazilian Modernism, maybe because we should always bear in mind that looking comparatively at literary periods brings with it a series of problems. But our goal here is exactly to discuss the language of Brazilian Modernism in a comparative perspective.---Original in English. The Brazilian Modernists did not constitute a unified movement at the beginning of the 20th century, nor did they have a consolidated agenda of themes to be dealt with or widely shared techniques to deal with them or even a unified vision about language.
Ways of Seeing the Past in Literary History
ABSTRACT: This article, after presenting one of the perspectives relating to the European derivation of Latin literature and culture, will consider the issue of national affiliation, principally through the categories of “imitation” and “autonomy”/“originality,” seeking to highlight certain aspects of the language and circumstances in which the unitary aspiration of the national, in its different manifestations, came into existence.

Machado de Assis and Nationalism: The "Americanas" Case
Abstract: There are at least three angles from which to view nationalism in the work of Machado de Assis. In this essay, those angles are critically studied and revised in order to show that there is a new way of reading the issue of nationalism in Machado de Assis’ work. It is argued that when he chose to publish Americanas, in 1875, and thereby retake a cultural tradition in which the first steps of a definite nationalism in Brazilian literature are rooted, Machado was answering a still present tendency in the tastes of the day
Ongoing Debates about Gambling Regulation In Brazil: Between Current News and Prospective Laws, An Uncertain Future Ahead
Brazil, one of the countries covered by the Bingo Project, has been travelling an intricate path towards gambling regulation. When we presented our completed research at the final Bingo Project conference in 2016 , we mentioned the existence of two simultaneous processes towards gambling regulation, one initiated in the Senate and the other in the Chamber of Deputies. Unsurprisingly, when this volume went to print, both drafts were still in the Congress, waiting for further discussions and final approval
