    Get PDF
© 2017 World Scientific Publishing Company. In this work, a novel circuit structure for second-harmonic multi-phase voltage controlled oscillator (MVCO) is presented. The proposed MVCO is composed of (Formula presented.) ((Formula presented.) being an integer number and (Formula presented.)2) identical inductor–capacitor ((Formula presented.)) tank VCOs. In theory, this MVCO can provide 2(Formula presented.) different phase sinusoidal signals. A six-phase VCO based on the proposed structure is designed in a TSMC 0.18(Formula presented.)um CMOS process. Simulation results show that at the supply voltage of 0.8(Formula presented.)V, the total power consumption of the six-phase VCO circuit is about 1(Formula presented.)mW, the oscillation frequency is tunable from 2.3(Formula presented.)GHz to 2.5(Formula presented.)GHz when the control voltage varies from 0(Formula presented.)V to 0.8(Formula presented.)V, and the phase noise is lower than (Formula presented.)128(Formula presented.)dBc/Hz at 1(Formula presented.)MHz offset frequency. The proposed MVCO has lower phase noise, lower power consumption and more outputs than other related works in the literature.Peer reviewedFinal Accepted Versio

BackgroundDiscriminating between cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (cALCL) and CD30-positive transformed mycosis fungoides (CD30+ TMF) is challenging, particularly when they arise in the context of pre-existing mycosis fungoides. The development of molecular diagnostic tools was hampered by the rarity of both diseases and the limited understanding of their pathogenesis.MethodsIn this study, we established a cohort comprising 25 cALCL cases and 25 CD30+ TMF cases, with transcriptomic data obtained from 31 samples. We compared the clinicopathological information and investigated the gene expression profiling between these two entities. Furthermore, we developed an immunohistochemistry (IHC) algorithm to differentiate these two entities clinically.ResultsOur investigation revealed distinct clinicopathological features and unique gene expression programs associated with cALCL and CD30+ TMF. cALCL and CD30+ TMF displayed marked differences in gene expression patterns. Notably, CD30+ TMF demonstrated enrichment of T cell receptor signaling pathways and an exhausted T cell phenotype, accompanied by infiltration of B cells, dendritic cells, and neurons. In contrast, cALCL cells expressed high levels of HLA class II genes, polarized towards a Th17 phenotype, and exhibited neutrophil infiltration. An IHC algorithm with BATF3 and TCF7 staining emerged as potential diagnostic markers for identifying these two entities.ConclusionsOur findings provide valuable insights into the differential molecular signatures associated with cALCL and CD30+ TMF, which contribute to their distinct clinicopathological behaviors. An appropriate IHC algorithm could be used as a potential diagnostic tool

Methodology and applications of city level CO2 emission accounts in China

    Get PDF
China is the world's largest energy consumer and CO2 emitter. Cities contribute 85% of the total CO2 emissions in China and thus are considered as the key areas for implementing policies designed for climate change adaption and CO2 emission mitigation. However, the emission inventory construction of Chinese cities has not been well researched, mainly owing to the lack of systematic statistics and poor data quality. Focusing on this research gap, we developed a set of methods for constructing CO2 emissions inventories for Chinese cities based on energy balance table. The newly constructed emission inventory is compiled in terms of the definition provided by the IPCC territorial emission accounting approach and covers 47 socioeconomic sectors, 17 fossil fuels and 9 primary industry products, which is corresponding with the national and provincial inventory. In the study, we applied the methods to compile CO2 emissions inventories for 24 common Chinese cities and examined uncertainties of the inventories. Understanding the emissions sources in Chinese cities is the basis for many climate policy and goal research in the future

The Internet spreads tourism information around the world and specifically travel blogs function as an online version of word-of-mouth (eWOM). This research explored the role of blogs as a destination image formation agent for China's inbound tourism. Data were collected from 630 bloggers who wrote on two blog websites about their travels within China in 2011 and 2012. The bloggers on TravelBlog.org and TravelPod.com were mainly from English-speaking countries. Qualitative analysis using Leximancer software was applied and identified nine major textual themes and the relationships among these themes. In order of relative importance, the themes were place, Chinese, people, food, train, city, hotel, China, and students. The research indicated that international tourists tended to have positive images of China

Reliability assessment of integrated energy systems based on complex network theory

    No full text
Abstract As integrated energy systems (IES) continue to undergo development and advancement, the degree of coupling between subsystems and their complexity are also on the rise, posing a challenge for the reliability assessment of such systems. The conventional method is unable to explain the interaction between subsystems as well as system‐level phenomena. The complex network theory is needed to provide a deeper analysis. Firstly, this paper introduces the basic concept and analysis tools of complex network theory. Secondly, the topological network model and the identification indexes of weak links for the IES are summarized as the basis for reliability assessment. Then, the reliability assessment indexes and assessment methods are sorted out for the IES based on the complex network theory; and further, the measures to optimize the reliability of the IES are put forward. Finally, from the perspective of complex network theory, directions for future research on the reliability assessment of IES are suggested

Pheropsophus occipitalis MacLeay is a predatory enemy prey heavily on agricultural pests. The length of the complete mitochondrial genome of P. occipitalis was 16,800 bp with 20.4% GC content, including 41.2% A, 11.9% C, 8.4% G, 38.5% T. The genome encoded 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNA), two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNA). Phylogenetic analysis showed that P. occipitalis was clustered with Pheropsophus bimaculatus and Pheropsophus sobrinus. This study provided a scientific basis for the population genetics, phylogeny, and molecular taxonomy of P. occipitalis

Study on the linkage between macro policy and market effectiveness in China's stock market: Based on run test of China's stock market index.

    No full text
The macro policy of the stock market is an important market information. The implementation goal of the macro policy of the stock market is mainly to improve the effectiveness of the stock market. However, whether this effectiveness has achieved the goal is worth verifying through empirical data. The exertion of this information utility is closely related to the effectiveness of the stock market. Use the run test method in statistics to collect and sort out the daily data of stock price index in recent 30 years, the linkage between 75 macro policy events and 35 trading days of market efficiencies before and after the macro event are tested since 1992 to 2022. The results show that 50.66% of the macro policies are positively linked to the effectiveness of the stock market, while 49.34% of the macro policies have reduced the effectiveness of the market operation. This shows that the effectiveness of China's stock market is not high, and the nonlinear characteristics are obvious, so the policy formulation of the stock market needs further improvement

Comparison of dexmedetomidine vs. remifentanil combined with sevoflurane during radiofrequency ablation of hepatocellular carcinoma: a randomized controlled trial

    No full text
Abstract Background Remifentanil is widely used for ultrasound-guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We determined whether dexmedetomidine could be an alternative to remifentanil for RFA of HCC under general anesthesia with sevoflurane. Methods We prospectively randomized patients scheduled to undergo RFA for HCC to a dexmedetomidine (DEX) group or remifentanil (REMI) group (47 patients each). In the DEX group, a bolus infusion (0.4 μg kg− 1) was started 15 min before anesthesia induction and continued at 0.2 μg kg− 1 h− 1 until 10 min before the end of surgery. In the REMI group, 3 μg kg− 1 h− 1 of remifentanil was administered from 15 min before anesthesia induction to the end of the surgery. The primary endpoint was postoperative pain intensity. Secondary endpoints included analgesic requirement, postoperative liver function, patient comfort, and hemodynamic changes. Group allocation was concealed from patients and data analysts but not from anesthesiologists. Results Postoperative pain intensity, analgesic consumption, comfort, liver function, and time to emergence and extubation did not differ between the two groups. Heart rate, but not mean arterial pressure, was significantly lower in the DEX group than in the REMI group, at 1 min after intubation and from 30 min after the start of the surgery until anesthesia recovery. Sevoflurane concentration and dosage were significantly lower in the DEX group than in the REMI group. Conclusion During RFA for HCC, low-dose dexmedetomidine reduced the heart rate and need for inhalational anesthetics, without exacerbating postoperative discomfort or liver dysfunction. Although it did not exhibit outstanding advantages over remifentanil in terms of pain management, dexmedetomidine could be a safe alternative adjuvant for RFA under sevoflurane anesthesia.
