    Get PDF
One of the technological innovations that is very relevant for the implementation of IPM is habitat manipulation using refugia plants to conserve predatory insect. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different species of Refugia plants on the diversity and species richness of predator on potato plants and their production yields. The research method used was a field experimental method with a randomized block design with 5 treatments of Refugia plant species repeated 3 times. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and are further tested by Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) analysis at a significance level of 5 percent. The results showed that nine predatory species were found in refugia and potato plants, namely Crytoleamus montrouzieri, Cocinella transversalis, Coleophora inaequalis, Monocielus sexmaculatus, Axion plagiatum, Coleophora reniplagiata, Illeis koebelei, Mantidae and Formicidae. The insect diversity index (H') of the predators found was rated as moderate for all treatments, ranging from 1.2 to 1.9

The Effect of Supply Chain Dynamism and Supply Chain Disruption Orientation on Supply Chain Resilience in Indonesian Manufacturing Industry

    Get PDF
Supply chains are starting to be more and more powerful in reaction to transforming company atmosphere as well as innovation. This has produced issues in coping with the flow of resources as well as produced increased probability of interruption. As such this particular analysis evaluates the effect of dynamism on interruption orientations, financial performance, and resilience. Whereas, an incorporated theoretical model is designed and afterwards analyzed utilizing survey information from a cross section of 345 workers from Indonesianย  manufacturing industry and partial least squares - structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The outcomes belonging to the research show that supply chain dynamism possesses a substantial favorable impact on supply chain disruption orientation and also supply chain resilience. Supply chain resilience also is afflicted with supply chain disruption orientation

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy, motivation, job satisfaction and employee performance at a palm oil company. Research Approach In this study, the research approach used is a quantitative approach, this research is explanatory in nature, namely a study that highlights between variables and tests hypotheses that have been formulated in the form of causality that examines the effect of one or more independent variables on one or more dependent variables. The independent variable in this study is Self Efficacy, Motivation and Job Satisfaction, while the dependent variable is Employee Performance. Method of data processing with Structural Equation modeling (SEM) with software tools SmartPLS 3.0. The technique used in sampling for this research is simple random sampling by distributing online questionnaires to 340 employees of palm oil companies in Indonesia. The results of this study are Self Efficacy has an effect on employee performance, Self Efficacy has an effect on employee job satisfaction, Motivation has an effect on performance, Motivation has an effect on job satisfaction, Job satisfaction has an effect on performance

Antibacterial activity of ethanolic leaf extract of Aquilaria malaccensis against multi-drug-resistant Gram-negative pathogen

The rapid emergence of resistant Gram-negative bacteria and the limited discovery of novel antibiotic is a global healthcare challenge. Many medicinal plants with potent bioactivities have been developed for the treatment of bacterial infections. Aquilaria malaccensis exhibits wide applications from perfumes and aromatic foods ingredients and great potential in medicines. In this study, crude leaf extract of A. malaccensis was evaluated for its antibacterial activity against several pathogenic Gram-negative bacteria. The leaves were processed and extracted by Soxhlet method using ethanol as the solvent. The antibacterial activity of the crude extract was tested by disc diffusion method, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) against Acinetobacter baumannii (ATCC 19606), Klebsiella pneumoniae (ATCC 10031 and ATCC 700603) and Escherichia coli (ATCC 1129). Using the optimized method, the Soxhlet extract produced a yield of 178.41 mg/g. Treatment of the extract at 200 mg/mL displayed the largest inhibition zones of 14.0 mm and 9.7 mm against A. baumannii and K. pneumoniae ATCC 10031, respectively. In contrast, against E. coli and K. pneumoniae ATCC 700603, smaller zones of inhibitions of 3.3 mm were demonstrated. The MIC values of the extract were 32 mg/mL against A. baumannii and K. pneumoniae ATCC 10031 and 64 mg/mL against E. coli and K. pneumoniae ATCC 700603. The MBC values of the extract were consistent with the MIC values for all the bacteria investigated. Overall, this study was the first to show antibacterial activity of A. malaccensis leaves extract particularly against A. baumannii and K. pneumoniae and potentially develop for the treatment of resistant bacteria
