We assign a measure to a bounded, upper semicontinuous function which is strictly subharmonic with respect to the k-curvature operator, and establish the weak continuity of the measure

Protecting Two-Qubit Quantum States by π\pi-Phase Pulses

We study the state decay of two qubits interacted with a common harmonic oscillator reservoir. There are both decoherence error and the error caused by the amplitude change of the superradiant state. We show that frequent $\pi$-phase pulses can eliminate both typpes of errors therefore protect a two-qubit odd-parity state more effectively than the frequent measurement method. This shows that the the methods using dynamical decoupling and the quantum Zeno effects actually can give rather {\em different} results when the operation frequency is finite

Gene regulatory network inference by point-based Gaussian approximation filters incorporating the prior information

Examinar a ampliação do uso de TICs por organizações sociais e governamentais na gestão da cidade é o objetivo do presente estudo. Nossa intenção é entender de que forma as tecnologias da informação e comunicação podem ser uma via alternativa que redefine as relações entre Estado e sociedade, substituindo políticas urbanas tradicionais por formas colaborativas de interação dos atores sociais. Entre os resultados alcançados pela pesquisa, é possível destacar a elaboração de uma metodologia capaz de mapear os princípios de organização, articulação, conexão e interação que constituem a existência de redes tecnossociais. A aplicação da metodologia nas cidades do Rio de Janeiro e de São Paulo demonstrou indicadores, gráficos e práticas políticas. A análise desses dados revela como as redes se constituem por uma arquitetura móvel, fluída, flexível, organizadas em torno de políticas comuns de ação e formadas por uma identidade coletiva que aproxima os atores das redes tecnossociais. Os princípios que mediam esta coesão são de compartilhamento, confiança e solidariedade, que redefinem as formas da organização do poder em direção a alternativas de organização política e desenvolvimento social

Electric dipole sheets in BaTiO3_{3}/BaZrO3_{3} superlattices

We investigate two-dimensional electric dipole sheets in the superlattice made of BaTiO$_{3}$ and BaZrO$_{3}$ using first-principles-based Monte-Carlo simulations and density functional calculations. Electric dipole domains and complex patterns are observed and the complex dipole structures with various symmetries (e.g. Pma2, Cmcm and Pmc2_{1}) are further confirmed by density functional calculations, which are found to be almost degenerate in energy with the ferroelectric ground state of the Amm2 symmetry, therefore strongly resembling magnetic sheets. More complex dipole patterns, including vortices and anti-vortices, are also observed, which may constitute the intermediate states that overcome the high energy barrier of different polarization orientations previously predicted by Lebedev\onlinecite{Lebedev2013}. We also show that such system possesses large electrostrictive effects that may be technologically important
