Consequences in the developing cranial deformities

    Get PDF
From the campaign of prevention of sudden death in infants, have increased the documented cases of cranial deformities, without a clear etiology and consequences to be determined. The lack of expansion of the brain in certain parts of the skull may be accompanied by lack of psychomotor development of the infant. In this research from a sample of the population of Burgos, is carried out measurements with the scale of development Brunet-Lezine, in the four areas of the scale and the global. The results show a delay in psychomotor development which is attenuating with age

    Get PDF
This study is to determine the differences in therapeutic measures carried out with two girls, depending on whether we have etiological diagnosis or not. Occurs when the patient has an etiological diagnosis, which sometimes may take years to get, everything is more appropriate, from the tranquility of the parents to therapeutic measures carried out by the team of early care. When there is an etiological diagnosis, there are several types of different Diagnostics according to the doctor that we come. This results in a way no return, difficult and inappropriate for the child. It is therefore necessary to coordinate the different medical and professional involved in the assessment of the child in order to achieve an etiological diagnosis as soon as possible.peerReviewe

The new social changes, longevity, divorce, changes in marriage, and others, we are considering if the relationship grandparents grandchildren has become a different meaning. To do this we have carried out a study with 600 grandparents of Burgos, where we are trying to differentiate functions that perform the grandparents to grandchildren. We have seen the relationship grandfather grandson is maintained with traditional roles such as unconditional love and pamper, while grandfather caregiver, substitute at times of parents, function has begun to gain positions, although far reaching what calling grandfather burning.peerReviewe

Nowhere hölderian functions and Pringsheim singular functions in the disc algebra

    Get PDF
We prove the existence of dense linear subspaces, of infinitely generated subalgebras and of infinite dimensional Banach spaces in the disc algebra all of whose nonzero members are not α-h¨olderian at any point of the unit circle for any α > 0. This completes the recently established result of topological genericity of this kind of functions, as well as the corresponding lineability statements about functions that are nowhere differentiable at the boundary. Topological and algebraic genericity is also studied for the family of boundary-smooth holomorphic functions that are Pringsheim singular at any point of the unit circle.Plan Andaluz de Investigación (Junta de Andalucía)Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO). Boundary-nonregular functions in the disc algebra and in holomorphic Lipschitz spaces

We prove in this paper the existence of dense linear subspaces in the classical holomorphic Lipschitz spaces in the disc all of whose non-null functions are nowhere differentiable at the boundary. Infinitely generated free algebras as well as infinite dimensional Banach spaces consisting of Lipschitz functions enjoying the mentioned property almost everywhere on the boundary are also exhibited. It is also investigated the algebraic size of the family of functions in the disc algebra that either do not preserve Borel sets on the unit circle or possess the Cantor boundary behavior on the disc.Plan Andaluz de Investigación (Junta de Andalucía)Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO). Terapia ocupacional en fragilidad: una aproximación bibliográfica

    Get PDF
Frailty syndrome is a high prevalence situation among elderly people that affects performance; it is also precursor for adverse events, even dependence or death; but, it is also a situation that can be reversed. Occupational therapy, as a discipline that tends to an optimum performance in all activities of daily living, can carry out interventions focused in prevention or reversion of this frailty situation. With the aim to know the research situation about frailty from occupational therapy point of view, a revision is made. After a selection of the articles, 13 that comply established criteria are obtained. It is concluded that research in this field is very scarce although results obtained in studies endorse the effectiveness of occupational therapy interventions in frail elderly.

Emotion, Psychological Well-Being and Their Influence on Resilience. A Study with Semi-Professional Athletes

The objective of the present study is to analyze the influence of coaches on emotional intelligence and on levels of anxiety, motivation, self-esteem, and resilience among athletes. Five-hundred forty-seven semi-professional athletes between the ages of 16 and 19 participated in this study. Various statistical analyses were conducted which explain the causal relationships between the variables. The results, obtained using a structural equations model, find that while autonomy support positively predicts emotional intelligence, perceived control predicts it negatively. Moreover, emotional intelligence positively predicts self-esteem and self-determined motivation, but negatively predicts anxiety. Other results show that self-esteem positively predicts self-determined motivation, whereas anxiety predicts it negatively. Finally, self-determined motivation positively predicts resilience. Indeed, the study demonstrates the influence and the importance of coaches in relation to the emotional intelligence, psychological well-being, and motivational processes of adolescent athletes when the latter engage in their respective sports. These results help to better understand how different behavioral, emotional, and social aspects belonging to the athlete interrelate with one another during competition

Determinants of Higher Mortality at Six Months in Patients with Hip Fracture: A Retrospective Study

Hip fracture is a pathology with high mortality, but the lack of a universal adaptation of the factors associated with death makes it difficult to predict risk and implement prevention in this group. This study aimed to identify the factors that determine a higher mortality at six months following hip fracture

Influence of Teaching Style on Physical Education Adolescents’ Motivation and Health-Related Lifestyle

According to various WHO reports in 2018, a large number of adolescents worldwide are either overweight or obese. This situation is the result of not following a healthy and balanced diet, combined with a lack of practice of physical activity. In this sense, Physical Education classes could help to solve the problem. The present study seeks to analyze the relationship between the role of the teacher in relation to the structural dimensions of the PE teaching environment and the basic psychological needs and self-motivation of adolescents as determinants of their behaviors related to eating habits and the practice of physical activity. A total of 1127 secondary school adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18 participated in this study. Questionnaires were used: Perceived Autonomy Support Scale, Psychologically Controlling Teaching Scale, Basic Psychological Needs in Physical Education, Frustration of Psychological Needs in PE context, Physical Activity Class Satisfaction Questionnaire, Perceived Locus of Causality Revised, and WHO’s Global school-based student health survey. A structural equations model was elaborated to explain the causal relationships between the variables. The results showed that autonomy support positively predicted the three structural dimensions of PE classes, while, in contrast, they were negatively predicted by psychological control. The three structural dimensions positively predicted the satisfaction of psychological needs and negatively predicted the thwarting of psychological needs. Self-determined motivation was positively predicted by the satisfaction of psychological needs and negatively predicted by the thwarting of psychological needs. Finally, self-determined motivation positively predicted healthy eating habits and the practice of physical activity and negatively predicted unhealthy eating habits. Certainly, the results obtained in this study support the postulates of the self-determination theory, demonstrating the predictability of PE class context towards the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits, such as a proper diet and the regular practice of physical activity
