Desarrollo de un implante para reemplazo de disco cervical, compatible con resonancia magnética

Se realizó primeramente la generación de conceptos biomecánicos y consecuente bosquejo de numerosas opciones de prótesis, basados en la funcionalidad del disco intervertebral cervical. El presente trabajo propone tres soluciones para desarrollar: dos primeras basadas en el movimiento articulado con superficies deslizantes, consistentes en una articulación de rótula y una articulación de silla de montar, respectivamente; la tercera solución se basa en la idea de imitar las características de amortiguación, flexión y extensión del disco intervertebral natural, por lo que se basó en un cuerpo amortiguador. Los tres modelos correspondientes siguieron el proceso de diseño por CAD/CAE, y los respectivos prototipos se sometieron a una evaluación de distorsión de imagen en resonancia magnética, resultando en una total compatibilidad con dicho sistema de imagenología médica.Firstly, the generation of biomechanical concepts was carried out and consequently the draft of numerous prosthesis options, based on the functionality of the cervical intervertebral disc. This research proposes three solutions to develop: the first two based on articulated movement with sliding surfaces, consisting of a ball-and-socket joint and a saddle joint, respectively; the third solution is based on the idea of imitating the cushioning, flexion and extension characteristics of the natural intervertebral disc, therefore it is based on a shock-absorbing body. El capitalismo y las religiones de China: revisión de los postulados de Max Weber en la China del nuevo siglo

The purpose of this doctoral research is to determine to what extent we can apply Max Weber's interpretations, analysis, and conclusions about Imperial China to the country's economic rise in the last decades. In order to find an answer to this problem, thesis director Dr. Josetxo Beriain Razquin and I designed a research methodology aimed to test the applicability of Weber's theories and explanations on some of the most crucial aspects of Chinese economic and social development, such as education, entrepreneurship, and the relative strategies of the state and the local government. The study of the educational aspect started in September 2011, and resulted in 20 interviewed and 100 surveyed students, all of them from Wuhan University, one of the top-10 universities in China. For the question of governmental strategies, I researched mainly through observant participation in the “2012 Gansu International Fellowship Program”, a 2-month experience of international cooperation in which I took part as a delegate of the Spanish province of Navarre. And regarding entrepreneurship, I completed more than 10 collaborations with Spanish and Chinese companies operating in Chinese and inside sectors such as renewable energies, real estate, tourism, food and high technology. The interpretation and analysis phases of this doctoral thesis have been completed in a year and a half period studyig at Jilin University, under the guidance of Professor Tian Yipeng, who helped me achieve a better understanding of the deep changes faced by Chinese society since the decline of Work Unit-oriented communities, and the rise of the State-owned enterprises. Regarding the conclusions of the research, they can be summarized in three main questions: 1) The emphasis of Max Weber on the tension between the intra-mundane and ultra-mundane spheres has led to much confusion among researchers, especially those who use this factor to elaborate anti-materialist explanations of the so called “Chinese miracle” and, thus, ignore “external” factors of pressure such as governmental policies, inter-familiar competition for a higher economic and social status, and a “technical” puritanism that coerces Chinese people to focus on training and work. 2) According to the evidence collected, Weber's plural concept of “the religions of China”, appears far more accurate than the concept of “Confucian capitalism”, since it offers the possibility of including some of the most popular business-related cults and ethical perspectives, the majority of which can't be considered as an exclusive heritage of Confucianism. 3) The results of this research strongly suggest the presence of the “adaptive” rationality that Weber considered as opposed to the one dominant in the West, although it is possible that a good part of the nation's successful efforts towards the so called “Chinese dream” have been driven by this mentality.Programa Oficial de Doctorado en Dinámicas de Cambio en las Sociedades Modernas Avanzadas (RD 1393/2007)Gizarte Moderno Aurreratuen Aldaketa Dinamiketako Doktoretza Programa Ofiziala (ED 1393/2007

In 1986, the book “Spanish Cities of the Golden Age” made Antonio de las Viñas’ Spanish views known and since then, many researchers have gazed through these open windows into the past. To achieve a perfect representation, Wyngaerde included some of the typical repertoire of techniques in his View of Zamora: combining a range of perspectives, elevation to unrealistic heights... Role of stacking interactions in the binding sequence preferences of DNA bis-intercalators: insight from thermodynamic integration free energy simulations

The major structural determinant of the preference to bind to CpG binding sites on DNA exhibited by the natural quinoxaline bis-intercalators echinomycin and triostin A, or the quinoline echinomycin derivative, 2QN, is the 2-amino group of guanine (G). However, relocation of this group by means of introduction into the DNA molecule of the 2-aminoadenine (=2,6-diaminopurine, D) base in place of adenine (A) has been shown to lead to a drastic redistribution of binding sites, together with ultratight binding of 2QN to the sequence DTDT. Also, the demethylated triostin analogs, TANDEM and CysMeTANDEM, which bind with high affinity to TpA steps in natural DNA, bind much less tightly to CpI steps, despite the fact that both adenosine and the hypoxanthine-containing nucleoside, inosine (I), provide the same hydrogen bonding possibilities in the minor groove. To study both the increased binding affinity of 2QN for DTDT relative to GCGC sites and the remarkable loss of binding energy between CysMeTANDEM and ICIC compared with ATAT, a series of thermodynamic integration free energy simulations involving conversions between DNA base pairs have been performed. Our results demonstrate that the electrostatic component of the stacking interactions between the heteroaromatic rings of these compounds and the bases that make up the intercalation sites plays a very important role in the modulation of their binding affinities

Plataforma hardware universal para prácticas sobre sistemas electrónicos analógico-digitales avanzados en régimen de semipresencialidad

Aquest projecte tracta d’implementar una metodologia per fer pràctiques d’Electrònica Analògica amb circuits avançats que es puguin configurar fàcilment dins d’una placa hardware universal. Aquesta metodologia es basa en el procés habitual que segueixen els dissenyadors electrònics i consta de tres fases: 1- disseny i càlcul teòric del circuit 2- simulació del circuit 3- mesures sobre un prototip 4- validació del disseny Aquest procés s’ha de fer seqüencialment i estaria controlat per un programa web que donaria als estudiants el timing correcte de les tasques a realitzar i els ajudaria amb els continguts teòrics necessaris. El fet de que el programa sigui web facilita la semipresencialitat de les sessions de laboratori i permet una gran millora a l’autoaprenentatge dels estudiants. Tant el software que controla la metodologia com el material de pràctiques es transferible a qualsevol assignatura que faci pràctiques de circuits analògics

Esta asignatura aporta a la Titulación de Relaciones Laborales y Recursos Humanos una visión global de la Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo, contribuyendo a la formación general del alumnado en materia de Prevención de Riesgos en los Lugares de Trabajo y complementando el aprendizaje de otras asignaturas, como aquéllas que tratan el marco normativo de la Seguridad Social y de las Relaciones Laborales. Se profundiza en aspectos tales como las Técnicas de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales, y específicamente las de Seguridad en el Trabajo y las de Higiene, contingencias por Accidente de Trabajo y Enfermedad Profesional y las Enfermedades y Accidentes derivados del trabajo desde diferentes puntos de vista (normativo y preventivo).
