    Existências lesbianas: por um aporte epistemológico lesbiano preto

    No contexto do heteropatriarcado, a heteronormatividade está presente. As demais orientações sexuais são consideradas inferiores. Diante disso, pergunta-se: uma mulher negra lesbiana, por não se encaixar nessa heteronorma, pode ser impactada negativamente no que diz respeito à vivência e expressão da sua sexualidade? De que maneira o feminismo negro interseccional pode contribuir para o debate sobres as lesbianidades de mulheres negras? Nessa discussão, uma mulher lesbiana branca pode falar pelas mulheres lesbianas negras? Com base em uma revisão de literatura acerca das epistemologias que tratam do feminismo lesbiano negro interseccional e das lesbianidades de mulheres negras inseridas no contexto do heteropatriarcado, o objetivo do presente artigo teórico é apresentar uma reflexão acerca dessa questão. Nesse sentido, pretende-se contribuir para a construção de um aporte epistemológico lesbiano negro que venha a desestabilizar uma epistemologia ainda predominantemente branca e heteronormativa, em que há um silenciamento histórico sobre a sexualidade da mulher lesbiana negra

    Leaf-Level Field Spectroscopy to Discriminate Invasive Species (Psidium guajava L. and Hovenia dulcis Thunb.) from Native Tree Species in the Southern Brazilian Atlantic Forest

    Invasive species are known to have potential advantages over the native community and can be expressed in their leaf functional traits. Thus, leaf-level traits with spectral reflectance can provide valuable insights for distinguishing invasive trees from native trees in complex forest environments. We conducted field spectroscopy measurements in a subtropical area, where we also collected trait data for 12 functional traits of invasive (Psidium guajava and Hovenia dulcis), and native species (Psidium cattleianum and Luehea divaricata). We found that photosynthetic pigments were responsible for the greatest interspecific variability, especially in the green region of the spectrum at 550 nm, therefore contributing to detection of invasive species. In addition, according to LDA and stepwise procedures, the most informative reflectance spectra were concentrated in the visible range that is closely related to pigment absorption features. Furthermore, we aimed to understand the leaf optical properties of the target invasive species by using a combination of narrow bands and linear regression models. P. guajava showed high correlations with specific leaf area, Car/Chl and relative water content. H. dulcis had a strong correlation with water content, specific leaf area and Chla/Chlb. Overall, this methodology proved to be appropriate for discriminating invasive trees, although parameterization by species is necessary

The species is a native tree from the Atlantic Forest biome commonly used in forest restoration; it has medicinal potential and the wood is economically useful. Methods and Results: Twenty-eight microsatellite loci were identified from an enriched genomic library. Fifteen loci resulted in successful amplifications and were characterized in a natural population of 94 individuals. Twelve loci were polymorphic, with allele numbers ranging from three to 15 per locus, and expected and observed heterozygosities ranging from 0.2142 to 0.8325 and 0.190 to 0.769, respectively.     The exhibition features works by 7 FTN co-ordinators alongside photographs and books by 19 artists, selected from an open call. Many of these works reflect on what is meant by family in the aftermath of the global pandemic. Consequently, haunting stories of absence, trauma, and loss are interwoven with notions of cultural identity, feminist revisions of personal histories and the celebrations and challenges of modern family life. Recent work “Portrait of a Woman” is included. It marks a period of ongoing research into photographic archives funded by ACE. The project re-imagines invisible female relatives through images originally taken by my grandfather, a photographer in Spain from 1909 -1948

    Dexamethasone Treatment Reverses Cognitive Impairment but Increases Brain Oxidative Stress in Rats Submitted to Pneumococcal Meningitis

    Pneumococcal meningitis is associated with a significant mortality rate and neurologic sequelae. The animals received either 10 μL of saline or a S. pneumoniae suspension and were randomized into different groups: sham: placebo with dexamethasone 0.7 mg/kg/1 day; placebo with dexamethasone 0.2 mg/kg/7 days; meningitis groups: dexamethasone 0.7 mg/kg/1 day and dexamethasone 0.2 mg/kg/7 days. Ten days after induction we evaluated memory and oxidative stress parameters in hippocampus and cortex. In the step-down inhibitory avoidance task, we observed memory impairment in the meningitis group with dexamethasone 0.2 mg/kg/7 days. The lipid peroxidation was increased in hippocampus in the meningitis groups with dexamethasone and in cortex only in the meningitis group with dexamethasone 0.2 mg/kg/7 days. The protein carbonyl was increased in hippocampus in the meningitis groups with dexamethasone and in cortex in the meningitis groups with and without dexamethasone. There was a decrease in the proteins integrity in hippocampus in all groups receiving treatment with dexamethasone and in cortex in all groups with dexamethasone (0.7 mg/kg/1 day). The mitochondrial superoxide was increased in the hippocampus and cortex in the meningitis group with dexamethasone 0.2 mg/kg/7 days. Our findings demonstrate that dexamethasone reverted cognitive impairment but increased brain oxidative stress in hippocampus and cortex in Wistar rats ten days after pneumococcal meningitis induction
